As he flicked through the letters, a small, handwritten envelope caught his attention and his heart began to thump. Had it been misplaced? Surely the old fool knew better than to leave personal possessions lying around. He picked it up, turning it over in his rough hands, it was fragile. And dusty... He coughed into his elbow and then turned his face back to the envelope. There was a loud crash from outside the door and then a loud scream, he had to get out. He stuffed the letter into his pocket and headed towards the window, he tried to shift it upwards, of course! How could he be so stupid? It was locked.

Outside there was another tortured cry and by the sound of it, this time it was a mans. Maddie was obviously doing her job well. The door handle turned and a lady in a black mask ran in.  "Heiden, hurry up!" She hissed then ran out again. The man named Heiden followed her and leapt over the side of the front balcony. His arms and legs flailed for a moment before he landed on his feet and kept running, Maddie right behind him. There were gunshots. They rang out loud and clear and more than anything they needed right now was three men following them. Maddie screamed as Heiden touched the door handle and he yanked his hand from it and spun round. Her body was on the floor and two men were looking very proud. She wasn't moving...

Heiden felt as though his world had moved aside and crashed into a thousand pieces. His little sister was dead, and he'd never forgive himself. He took his gun out and shot one man in the shoulder and the other in the head, then ran over to Maddie. Her chest was rising and falling slowly, and her eyes flickered open. Heiden crouched over her and she cupped his face in her hand, struggling for breath. "I don't want to leave you, but tell Obsidian I'll see him soon," Maddie softly said, Heiden frowned as he shot somebody else "What do you mean?" he asked her, but she had already gone. He kissed her forehead softly "I will avenge your death, Princess.".
