Heiden's heart crumbles when he hears his brother say that. He plays over Maddie's murder in his mind and lies back on the bed. His phone chimes but he can't bother looking at it, it'll just be more about the Adonis Dennet again. Heiden thinks about how he broke in, how Maddie actually risked everything for him. Not just her career but her life. Thats all he's been hearing recently though. Death...
Obsidian seemed for real but then he always does because he has a good heart. He starts to think that if he lost everyone, not just Maddie, how could he cope? Heiden stands up deciding to apologize to his brother. He realizes he's been too harsh recently and has hurt his family in ways no one can imagine. Not visible scars but emotional ones. He opens the door and locks it behind him before descending the stairs to find Obsidian. Heiden raps upon the door before entering. Obsidian is sitting on the windowsill and staring out in the city. He picks up his lighter and lights a cigarette. He pushes himself forwards until he is right on the edge of the window. His converse trainer falls off and he watches it fall, looking rather amused. Heiden steps forward "Brother—" "What are you doing here?" "I live here!" Heiden protests and Obsidian pats the space next to him "Sit,". Heiden swings his legs over into the cold night air. "Maddie and I used to do this, see who could get closest to the edge without falling off." Obsidian smiles sadly taking another puff of his cigarette. Heiden takes it from him and inhales as he smokes. He coughs for a moment and his eyes water but then he's okay.
Heiden glowers at Obsidian who instantly stops laughing "Sorry, it's just you know how to smoke, but can't". Heiden shakes his head fondly and nods a bit "Was my face green?" He asks "Not really, no." Obsidian says taking back the cigarette and grinning. "Whats the point of smoking if you aren't getting high?" "Because I'm too drunk to get high," Obsidian giggles and shakes the bottle of bourbon next to him. Heiden stares in disbelief "And I also couldn't afford it." he shrugged and Heiden laughed.
It's good to be home, accepted, but Heiden would of liked Maddie with him. Alive, Happy, Always knowing what to do next. He sighed, leaned back to the brick wall behind him and looked into the distance then exhaled the smoke from his lungs... "Pass the booze."
