His hand grazed it, a jagged stone brick decorated with moss and dirt. His discolored eyes gazing along the deteriorated structure. The structure being an long abandoned outpost that has fallen into ruins over time. People call it the Ravencross Ruins since ravens always seem to be on or by the ruins. The ruin's name is long lost since no one can read the language that's imprinted on the stone bricks of the building. Although he has never said he could read it, Ty can. He's has always had trouble reading and writing Astinaian. But he can read and write the ancient language without struggling. And yet, he has no idea how he knows it so well.

Ty is a lean, medium height young man. He has brown hair that's swept to cover the top left side of his face. It covers his discolored eyes, one red and the other being green. He never found that his eyes being strange since his best friend has yellow eyes. He also wore a white t-shirt with a black leather jacket and dark grey pants with black sneakers. But what he is most known for is his black headset with lime green coloring.

He eyes went to symbols that are on stones, he stops, reading them to himself. 'The Crimson Outpost.' He read. Ty gripped the horse reins in his hand, he got himself lost in Scorched Jungle. The jungle is a lustful one, but the tree are burden with black marking as if something put it there. As soon as he walked inside the outpost, his horse nuzzled his back making him stumble forward. He looks behind him, smiling at the darken ash grey horse. He pets him.

"It's fine, we are almost out of the jungle, Smokey." He smoothed. Smokey nuzzles Ty's chest and Ty smiles. Ty turns from Smoky, pulling on his reins. "Come on." Smoky follows Ty, they left the ruins after a few minutes. Ty moved obstacles out of the way so Smoky could maneuver through the jungle. They come out at the side, Ty sighs. "The LandBridge. There you are." Ty mounted up onto Smokey's back and they head towards it. The Landbridge, it is the only thing that is connecting the two giant landmasses together. A long and wide piece of thin land that can only have use in the warm months, but during winter is another story. Underneath it is the Grey Abyss, a wide rushing river that splits the two islands. Ty stopped Smokey, feeling like something is pulling him to go back into the jungle. He looks behind him, at the jungle, he was almost gonna turn around. But Smokey shook his head and neighed at Ty, pulling him back to reality. He puts his hand on his head, feeling it start to hurt.

"Sorry, bud..come on." Ty said. They go at a reasonable pace, it is dangerous to go fast across the bridge since it isn't trustworthy. Once Ty crossed it, he smiled at the warm breeze and seeing the long grass rippled like a wave. Hollow Plains, north is Void City and to the south is the Sky Army. Ty turns south, letting Smokey gallop through the high plateau. He could hear yelling in the distance, he smiled knowing he was back home. Ty spots a group of recruits training in the plains. He turns Smokey towards them, slowing down as he got closer. He stops next to Ian. Ian looks up at Ty.

"Hey, how did it go?" Ian asks. Smokey nudges Ian's head and Ian pets him.

"Okay I guess." Ty responded. Ian Stapleton, one of the Generals of the Sky Army and one of Ty's friends. Ian is well older than the others; he is a tall, lean man with jet black hair and brown eyes. His eyes are usually hidden behind a pair of black sunglasses. He has a five o'clock shadow with a white shirt, black jeans, and dark brown boots with a dark green jacket. Ty pulls on Smokey's reins to the right making Smokey turn right.

"You okay?" Ian asks. Ty glances at Ian and then at his hands. Ty nods.

"I'm fine.....What are you doing today? Where is Quentin?" Ty asks him. Ian looks at the recruits training.

"Well, we got new recruits coming first thing tomorrow. So I have to help get ready for that. Quentin is currently at the outpost by Sacura Kingdom, he is gonna come back next week. They apparently needed him there. But what are you doing tomorrow, we could always use some more help getting ready for the new recruits?" Ian asks. Ty looks away from Ian.

"Um..I--"

"Ty....what happened?" Ian asks him. Ty grips his reins.

"Nothing happened!" Ty lied before he digs his heels into Smokey's side and takes off away from Ian. Ty wipes his face, removing any tears from it. 'Why....Why is it so hard for me to remember things? Why is it so hard for me to read and write and....I should have never ever agree to do this for Adam. Save me the embarrassment of having a freakin' seven year old have to read things to me in front of everyone.' Ty thought. Smokey stops as Ty's eyes water. He stays still, remembering the laughing, pointing, and whispering around him during that. It makes him upset like he was when it happened. Ty covers his face with his hands. 'I'm smart..I...I'm smart..I may not be able to read and write as well as everyone else but I..I can still do things..' Tears fall down his cheeks, he hears stomping and a rider coming up beside him. He wipes his face, not looking at them.

"Ty..Is something wrong?" A voice asks. Ty says nothing. He feels a paw touch his arm. "Ty." Ty looks at them, meeting eyes with Jerome Aceti. Another one of his friends and a General of the Sky Army. Jerome is a beast hybrid, he has brown fur covering his body, fangs, clawed paws and brown eyes. He has black pants with a white shirt and a black jacket on as well. Jerome's eyes narrow at Ty. "Okay...who needs to a get a beating? Who was it?" Ty looks away from Jerome.

"Why can't I be like you guys?" Ty asks him. Jerome's gaze softens, they let their horses start to walk towards the base.

"Ty, you're learning to read and write. You'll get the hang of it soon--"

"When Jerome? When? I'm 21 years old and I still don't know how to write my own name and yet a seven year old can." Ty said. Jerome looks away from Ty. 'A seven year old...oh no. Not again.' Jerome thought to himself. Jerome looks at Ty.

"Hey, don't listen to them. They are being bullies, f*ck the haters. Am I right or am I right?" Jerome asks making Ty smile. Ty looks at Jerome. Jerome gives him a smile. "Besides, look at this way. You may not be book-smart like everyone, but you are an amazing fighter. Better than most. You don't need to read or write to be able to kick someone's ass." Ty smiles again. Jerome looks ahead, seeing the base. "And also, you can read the ancient language better than anyone I know." Ty looks at Jerome. Jerome smiles. "Yes, I know you can. I saw you decode some of the Ruins of Silence's books. You are pretty good at it." Ty looks away.

"I don't know, it comes natural to me. Figures I would be able to read and write the one language that no one else knows." Ty said. They enter the base, the base being near the edge of a cliff and also a beachline the you have to climb down to get there. The base has building here and there serving different purposes and then the magic side of the base. The magic side is underground but is usually only used by Seto, his apprentice, and...that's it. Magic has sort of been meeting its end but there are still people who practice it. In the centre of the base is the Meeting Hall, a large building with more than a place to hold meetings. It holds offices, store rooms, a library, and more. Built into it is the infirmary, a large room with beds lined up on both sides of the room and medical supplies in it. Also there are separate rooms for the sick and injured who are gonna have to stay in the infirmary. They stay there under medical eyes instead of going back to their housing. The housing buildings are either large buildings or separate small houses. The houses usually hold up to a few recruits at a time, and the recruits look after it. They are usually located in the outskirts of the base. Forges, training halls, archery ranges, and more are all located inside the base. It sort of makes it easy to get lost in the base, but you learn the layout easy. It helps that there is no big wall that would surround the base.

Ty and Jerome let their horses walk towards the centre where Commander Sky should be at. Ty smiles a little, seeing recruits all either talking and having a good time. Or they are rushing or brawling. They smile at the Generals and wave at them. They wave back. They both go to the stables, Ty puts away Smokey as Jerome gets pulled aside by General Mitch. Ty waves at Mitch and Mitch gives him a smile in return.

General Mitchell Hughes, an expert archer and a pretty funny guy. Otherwise known as Mitch. He and Jerome often work together on things. He is amazing with a bow, he always seems to have his quiver and bow on him. He has a black and red checkered sweatshirt with a white v-neck t-shirt and golden dog tags. He his brown eyes with caramel brown hair and his bow and quiver on him. He is in charge of the archers in the Sky Army, naturally since he is really good with a bow.

Ty walks past them, holding papers in his hand. He looks at them, trying to read them to himself. But he was having trouble with the words again. He tries to remember what the seven year old read to him, but he can't recalled it. He was too busy feeling humiliated at the time. He walks inside the Meeting Hall and up a set of stairs. As soon as he got near the library, he heard an explosion followed by cursing. he goes inside the vast library, seeing a table snapped in half and books knocked over.

"S-Seto? You okay?" Ty asks. Seto sits up, his hand on his head as he stumbles to his feet.

"Arrgghh...that wasn't right...." Seto groaned. Ty puts the papers in his back pocket and hurries over to Seto. Ty grabs Seto's arms as he almost falls over. General Seto Azdel, a master wizard and a bookworm. He is usually in the library or underground, but he is a great mage with a kind heart. Seto's eyes open, Ty sees his eyes fade from purple back to their brown color. Seto's eyes change from brown to purple when using magic. That is only the thing that changes. The rest stays the same. He is a short, young man with a normal long-sleeve black t-shirt on, dark gray jeans with brown boots. He also has caramel brown hair with pale skin and a red cloth belt on. His dark grey wizard robe with purple lining is laying on the broken table though.

"You okay?" Ty asks. Seto grabs Ty's shoulder, feeling nauseous.

"Nope...Why did I do that?" Seto mumbles. Ty puts Seto's arm around his neck.

"Come on, I'll help you walk to the infirmary." Ty said. Ty grabs Seto's jacket and they get out of the library. "Do you remember the spell you used?" He shakes his head. They approach the steps and Ty frowns at it. "Okay...um." Seto is already leaning against Ty, getting down steps would be hard. But after about ten minutes, they manage and Seto gets sicker. As soon as the entered the infirmary, Ty helped Seto over to an empty bed. A nurse comes over to them as Seto lays down. Ty looks at her. "Spell backfired. Can you look after him? He isn't feeling well." She lays her hand on Seto's forehead and nods.

"Yeah, what spell? I could give you a potion." She said. Ty winced at that. While they are helpful, Ty doesn't like potions. They taste horrible to him and some hurt him. That's why the doctors and nurses don't use potions on Ty unless need be. They never figured out why potions react so negative towards him, but they gave up on it. Ty sets Seto's jacket on a chair beside him as the nurse started asking Seto questions. Questions that Seto didn't want to answer right now. Ty smiled at Seto.

"Well, get better. I'll clean up the mess you made." Ty said to him. Seto looks at him.

"A-Are you sure?" Seto asks. Ty nods.

"No problem." Ty said. Seto smiled a little.

"Thanks." He said.

"I got to go, but feel better." Ty said before he walked out and back up the steps. He goes near the end of the hall, he opens a door hearing talking already.

"Ty, how did it go?" A voice asks. Ty looks at Jason and Sky. Commander Adam Skylen, or otherwise known as Sky since that is what he is usually called. He is in charge of the Sky Army and calls all the shots and gives the orders. He a young, lean man with a grey t-shirt with a black jacket that has the sleeves pulled up to his elbows. He has a dark skin tone, red sneakers with black pants and red fingerless cloth gloves. He also has bright yellow eyes, black sunglasses resting in his dark brown hair. His hair is long enough to have a small ponytail and have it cover his yellow eyes. Most people find the Commander's eyes unsettling, so he most of the time covers them up. The two of them, Adam and Ty, are close ftiends. Closer than most since Ty tells Adam stuff that he doesn't tell the others.

And than there is General Jason Probst, a little younger then Ty, he is friends with Ty as well. He is a very kind and skilled warrior. He is lacking in confidence though, but Jason can make about anyone smile. Jason is a young, thin man with dark brown hair and ash grey eyes. He has pale skin, a blue jacket, white shirt and brown boots with black pants. He also has a yellow star charm on a black chord around his neck and a sword strapped to his back.

Ty pulls out the papers from his back pocket and gives them to Sky.

"It would be better if you went there yourself." Ty said. Sky looks away, not answering as he read. Ty looks at Jason. "Jason..can we--"

"I know, I'm going. We still got to prepare for the new recruits, you gonna help Ty?" Jason asks. Ty looks away from Jason.

"Don't you remember what happened last time I helped? No." Ty said. Jason loses his smile and nods.

"A-Alright. See ya guys." Jason said before he left. Ty looks at Sky.

"You don't have to enter Evershade to get to Nasia Kingdom, Adam." Ty said. Sky sits down in his chair, he puts his hand in his hand.

"I know, Ty. It's the memories, Nasia is too close to Evershade. And I hate that town." Sky said. Ty sits in a chair that is next to the desk, saying nothing. Sky looks from the papers to Ty. "Did your memories come back?" Ty looks at Adam.

"Sky, you know I gave up on that a long time ago." Ty said.

"Did you talk to Jess like I recommed? Mayb--"

"And have people know about my amnesia? No way. They make fun of me enough, I don't want to give them more to laugh at." Ty interupted. Sky looks back at the papers. He sighs.

"Well it seems like I have to go to Nasia tomorrow. Something I rather not do when new recruits are coming. You want to come with me?" Sky asks. Ty looks at him and than nods.

"Sure." Ty said. Sky folds up the papers and sets them inside a drawer. He gets up.

"Well, I'm tired of being stuck behind a desk. You want to leave now or are you too tired from your trip?" Sky asks. Ty shakes his head, he stands up.

"I'm fine, but I rather give Smokey some time to rest. And I promise Seto to clean the library while he is recovering." Ty said.

"Wait, what happened to Seto? Is that what that explosion was?" Sky asks. Ty nods.

"Yeah, spell backfired on him. He is sick in the infirmary right now." Ty said. Sky sighs and nods.

"Okay, I'll help you. But where is his apprentice?" Sky asks. They walk out into the hallway, going to the library.

"She's in the City of Alamut right now for some magic thing. Won't be back for a while." Ty said. They go into the library, Sky stops in the doorway as Ty walks inside.

"Okay, what spell was it?" Sky asks. They start picking up books, Ty looks at the the covers, he likes the pictures but can't make sense of the words. Ty gives the books to Sky so he can reshelf them. Ty looks at the broken table.

"What do we do about the table?" Ty asks Adam.

"Seto can fix that with his reverseal spell. So leave it like that. And if the libraian asks, Seto did this." Sky said. Ty smiles a little.

"To be honest, she would not be in shock if Seto did this." Ty said. Sky nods, agreeing.

"Yeeeaahhh. You got a point there. Wait..what the heck." Sky said. Ty turns to Sky, Sky had a small leatherbound book in his hands.

"Oh, Seto said that is his spellbook." Ty said. Sky looks at Ty.

"Than why does it have Magi written on it?" Sky asks. Ty comes up beside Sky, looking at it.

"Where does it say that?"

"Right here, it's scratched out." Sky said pointing to Magi written on the cover. Ty narrows his eyes at it and finally sees it.

"I don't know, but I'll give it to him." Ty said before he takes it. He knows how Seto is with people handling this book in particular. Ian walks pass the library and stops, backing up and going inside.

"There you are, Sky, you know where Seto is? There are some things that...." Ian said. Ian stops at the broken table and looks at it. "Okay...that wasn't broken last time I was here."

"Seto is sick." Sky said.

"Sick...no. What did he do?" Ian asks. Ty opens the book and flips through a few pages, looking at the pictures as Sky explain things to Ian. Ty stops at one page when he can read it. 'Dragonomeres...what is that?' Ty thought to himself. Ty winces and almost drops the book as his head starts to hurt agian. He puts his hand on his head, feeling Sky steady him.

"Whoa, you okay? What was that?" Sky asks him. Ty nods and takes a second before stands up on his own.

"I-I don't know." Ty said. Ian takes a step towards them, seeing the exhaustion written on Ty's face.

"It must be from traveling on horseback for three days. You look exhausted." Ian said. Sky nods, agreeing.

"Yeah, how about you go get some sleep? I'll take this to Seto." Sky said taking the book from Ty. Ty nods.

"Okay. But when are we leaving tomorrow?" Ty asks. Sky looks at Ian and than at Ty.

"Are you sure you are up for that? You did only come back now and you--"

"I'm okay, a little sleep and food and I'll be okay again. I like traveling, you know that." Ty said. Sky hesitates before he answers. He sighs, giving in.

"Okay, but go sleep and get something to eat as well at least. We'll leave in the morning."
