Disorders

Jungkook and Jin stared at the door just previously slammed by Taehyung.

Jungkook makes a small noise of resignation, knowing that he has no right to speak to Taehyung.

Jungkook knows he's a demon, he just wishes he could stop.

You can stop, you just chose not to. The low voice in Jungkook's head pipes up.

No, that's not true I can't remember what I do. So I can't stop it! He tries to argue back, shaking his head violently.

"Jungkook what's wrong? What's going on?" Seokjin wonders, confused as to why the male was grappling with his thought so much.

"He won't... he won't shut up." Jungkook says in a strained voice.

Jins eyebrows raise at this statement, not understanding the younger.

"Who?"

"My father!" The raven haired boy cries.

"Jungkook no one is here! Your father is dead! Snap out of it!" Jin shouts, grabbing the others shoulders and shaking him gently, being careful to not disturb his wound.

Jungkooks eyes snap open at this, wandering around the empty room, ixnay the two boys.

Jin grabs a smal towel and hands it to the injured boy. Jungkook takes it, wiping the sweat beading on his forehead.

"You mind explaining?" Jin says a bit more harshly than he intended to.

Jungkook pauses, placing his hands in his lap. Trying to piece his sentences together in a way Jin would understand.

"Well... I've been blacking out." He starts

Jin picks his glasses up off the table and places them on his face, scribbling notes with his pen.

"For how long?"

Jungkook tilts his head back into his pillow thinking, "about... four years?"

The clanging of a clipboard hitting the laminate floor sounds out through the room.

"Four years?!" Jin exclaims, clambering to pick his board up again.

"Uh.." Jungkook begins, eyeing Jin worriedly.

"Yeah, I think so at least. I can't remember exactly when it started happening." He goes on.

Jin nods, adjusting his shirt and sitting back down on his stool.

"And what happens when... or after rather..you blackout?" He asks.

"Well... everything goes black and then, I wake up but I'm already awake.. if that makes sense. Like I'll be doing something but all of a sudden I'm in control again. And I have no recollection of what has happened in that time. But usually it's something awful." The ravenette slumps in his bed, avoiding the eldest's eyes.

Jins eyes broaden behind his glasses and picks up his pen, listening intently to Jungkook's words.

"I'll give orders I don't resembling giving. And things like that. And right before I black out I always hear this voice. I hear it a lot actually, always whispering something awful to me.... it's my voice but, deeper and more intimidating. It sounds like my father." The young man explains further.

Jin sits quietly on his stool for a moment before he speaks once again.

"Jungkook I need to tell you something... and it might be really hard for you to hear." The man sighs, placing his reading glasses back on the table, rubbing his temples.

Jungkook raises an eyebrow at the doctoral sin.

Jin walks over to a small bookshelf in the corner, removing a single thin medical booklet, thumbing through it looking for a specific term.

"Ahh" he lets out as he apparently finds what he's looking for.

"Jungkook I'm afraid I think you have Dissociative Identity Disorder." Jin says after much contemplation.

"What?" Is all Jungkook can manage.

"Multiple personality disorder to put it lightly." Seokjin continues.

Jungkooks whole world freezes in that exact moment.

Multiple personalities?

"That would explain the blackouts. The other personality your brain has created for you would have been taking control over your consciousness. That's why you can't remember what you've done." Jin says.

Jungkook looks at the other in astonishment.

"Jungkook we are all mildly aware of how your father was. It would make sense if after he died your brain created another "person" to cope with the abuse and the loss." He goes on.

"He May have been awful but he was your only guardian. I think unfortunately that his malevolence rooted itself into your brain, becoming another personality."

Jungkooks head was reeling with this new information.

Sure, it made sense but...

He hates feeling of not being in control of his own body.

To think that he's doing things he can't control, and there was nothing he could do.

"How do I cure it?" The head Sins questions Jin.

"Well... We will have to do some intense coping therapy sessions." Seokjin explains.

"We have to kill your father."

"Jin I don't know if you remember this but my father has been dead for a while." Says an agitated Jungkook.

"Metaphorically speaking of course. He need to kill your image of him, emotionally." Jin elaborates.

With this Jungkook nods solemnly.

"That's why I hear his voice?" He asks quietly.

"It would make sense." Jin says, placing the booklet back down, walking to a small desk in the corner pulling out another black journal.

"When do we begin?" Jungkook questions further.

"Well... whenever you want I suppose. This is going to be emotionally draining Jungkook. You do understand that yes? I cannot guarantee what might happen during this process." The older says as he arranges the arm chair to face the medical bed.

Jungkook begins to nod, but stops remembering something important.

"I need to talk to Taehyung first." He says, pulling back the sheets to get out of bed.

Jin begins to protest but Jungkooks pained cry cuts him off.

"You're still healing Jungkook!" Jin scolds.

"You stabbed your internal organs! You've only been resting for a week!" He says, forcing Jungkook back down into bed.

"A week?" Jungkook says, remembering to ask the man about that timeframe.

"We had to put you in a medically induced coma for a bit because you kept flatlining." Jin describes.

"Ah, okay."

"I can ask Taehyung if he would be willing to speak to you, but you have to understand how he's feeling." Jin says gently.

"I know... I lied to him, I went behind his back. I abused my power over the kingdom while telling him everything was fine. I held supplies back from his own sister after promising him I would provide for her." Jungkook says sadly.

"Jungkook remember, that wasn't really you, we know that now." Jin says patting the youngers back.

Jungkook just nods.

Jin stands up straight and makes for the door, "I'll ask him, okay?"

Jungkook gives a weak smile, the first one Jin has ever received from him.

Jin smiles back and exits the room.

Jungkook was now left alone with his anxious mind, thinking of all the reasons Taehyung wouldn't want to speak to him.

He must hate me.

I'd hate me.
