Showdown

.

Lee felt fear creeping inside as he listened to the sound of Clement moving closely, Kenny anxiously pacing and Lilly even looking up with concern.

He suddenly gasps, making Lee's eyes widen and Kenny's face falls.

It was quiet for a moment before the door was clicked open, Clement stepping inside with a panicked gaze.

"Are you okay?!" Lee whispers as he approaches, Clement taking (Y/N)'s doll back. "Did anyone see you?"

"No," Clement looks back anxiously, "but there's a man outside."

Lee nods before looking to Lilly with sympathy, "Lilly, we need to go."

"Leave me alone."

"Lee!" Kenny whispers as he peeks back inside , "I can see him!"

"Lilly," Lee tries to urge, "it's not safe in here."

"For God's sake Lee, I didn't even get to say goodbye!" she snaps, glaring up at him before her head drops back down.

Lee sighs softly, Kenny calling him from the back room. "Get in here, I got an idea!"

Lee starts to walk out, turning to Clement. "Stay here. Take care of Lilly, okay? I'm going to find (Y/N)."

Clement nods, "okay."

He exits the meat locker, his eyes widening at the familiar sight of the back room filled with blood. Kenny was looking around horrified, shaking his head.

"I told you there was something up with this room... It's a Goddamn human slaughterhouse!"

Kenny and Lee crouch down low to stay hidden, Kenny keeping watch on Dan outside and Lee finding a Hay Hook as a weapon.

"So, what's the plan?" Lee whispers as he kneels next to Kenny.

"That dumbass is so caught up in his own rant that we could probably sneak right up on him," Kenny suggests, Dan sitting on a crate outside the barn with his rifle next to him. "Just stick behind me, in case anything goes down. When we get to the front, grab his gun."

Lee nods, "sounds good."

"Okay. You ready?"

Lee looks outside, "yeah. Let's go."

"Stay close," Kenny warns as he lightly pushes the door open, a storm outside pouring down.

Lee's gaze focuses on the rifle leaning against the side of Dan's hay bale seat as he creeps forward, Dan muttering to himself.

"Who wants some?! I dare some dead asshole to try to cross my fence tonight!" Dan shouts to no one, Lee and Kenny sharing a creeped out look. "... If daddy were here, everything would be fine. That's when things started to go to shit around here... Daddy had an order on things. You knew what you were supposed to be doing. Now it's all just whatever!"

"Dan!" Andy's voice calls, Lee and Kenny freezing in their tracks. "What are you doing outside the barn?" he questions as he walks over, entering their sight.

"Shit!" Kenny hisses, grabbing Lee's arm and pulling him into a stall and closing the door.

"Just guarding the place, like you said," Dan mumbles back.

Lee peeks out slowly, watching the two brothers.

"Well, quit sitting out in the rain like a damn weirdo," Andy huffs, "mama says we can't keep that many folks alive and not expect trouble. Pick one to keep and kill the rest."

Lee ducks back inside, looking to Kenny as he whispers, "they're talking about killing us!"

"No shit..."

"Can I pick which one to keep alive?"

"Not the girl. Not enough meat on her to trade."

"We'll take him out together," Lee whispers back, Kenny nodding.

"How?"

Dan starts muttering to Maybelle as she moos.

"He doesn't know we're out here. He's gotta walk past us to get to the meat locker. We can take him when his back is turned."

Lee peeks back out, Dan setting up a bear trap at the entrance of the barn with a sadistic smirk.

He turns, disappearing from Lee's sight as he walks off.

"Shit. I don't see him anymore," Lee looks back to Kenny as he closes the door.

"Where the fuck did he go? He didn't go past us. Look again."

Lee nods, slowly peeking the door open and gasping at the sight of Dan aiming his rifle at him.

He grunts as he grabs the barrel of the rifle and jerks it up, Dan shooting. Lee winces and holds his ear before swiftly lunging forward, Dan trying to reload his gun.

Lee yells and jams the hay bale hook into Dan's chest, making him scream in pain and ram the rifle against Lee's mouth.

Lee stagges back, Dan yanking the hook out of his chest aiming his rifle at him. Kenny bursts from the stall, knocking the rifle from his hands and slicing Dan with a sickle he had found.

Kenny slices Dan's hip and knocks him backwards, Dan's foot landing in his own bear trap and making him fall back on his ass with another scream of pain.

Dan was unable to free himself, since they altered all traps to make it so there was no release latch.

"Where's my family, asshole?!" Kenny demands.

"You can't have 'em! We need the vet!"

"No!" Katjaa screams in the distance, Kenny's eyes wide as he turns to it.

"Kat! Lee, come on!"

"Go!" Lee shouts as he rises and approaches, grabbing a pitchfork. "I won't be far behind."

Kenny races out of the barn, Dan struggling to try to pry the trap open as Lee stands over him.

"You see?!" Dan lets out a pained grunt, smirking. "You understand now, don't you? You can have me! It's how the world works now. Give part of yourself so others can live!"

Lee's scowl deepens as he raises the pitchfork, "that's why you killed that woman! She was about to tell me everything!"

"You weren't ready to hear yet, Lee!" Dan grits out, holding his leg as blood gushes from it while panting. "Had to stop her!" he smirks, looking up at Lee. "You gotta keep me alive! If you kill me, the meat gets tainted! You can't eat it!"

Lee shakes his head, glaring down at him in disgust. "You're already tainted!"

He raises the pitchfork again, Dan cackling maniacally. "You ain't gonna kill me! Just like you didn't kill Jolene! You don't have what it takes! Fucking coward!"

Lee's glare hardens as he shouts, throwing the pitchfork into the bale of hay besides Dan's head as he screams in terror.

Dan's eyes were wide with fright, his face pale.

"This is not how the world works now!" Lee firmly yells. "You won't make me kill you!"

He pants lightly from anger, shaking his head as he braces himself on his knees.

"Fuck you, Lee," Lilly's furious tone speaks from his side, making him look over. "You and Kenny murder my dad, but you leave this piece of shit alive? You're a fucking asshole."

(?) Clement will remember Lee spared Dan's life

Clement looked up at Lee with a small smile and sad eyes, nodding shortly to him.

Lee sighs as he rises, going to speak when the sound of Katjaa screaming from the house makes him look back.

"Oh God, please don't hurt them!"

"Katjaa!" Lee looks back to Lilly, exhaling sharply as he looks back to Clement.

"Please, no!"

"Lilly, please keep him safe!" Lee begs, turning and running out into the storm.

Clement watches him with concern, Lilly remaining silent as she glares the direction Lee went.

...

Lee squats down to avoid being seen as he looks around for Kenny, cursing under his breath. "Kenny?!"

Lightning flashes overhead, thunder bellowing only a moment later as rain pours down heavily.

Lee looks up to the house, the lights on inside, and Kenny no where to be found.

Rustling behind him makes him jump, Lee squinting as he watches the corn field. A walker snarls as he staggers into his view, though he fell a moment later, dead for good.

Carley emerges from the field, carrying Lee's forgotten axe as she crouch-walks forward with Ben in tow.

"Carley!" Lee whispers harshly so she could hear, making her eyes widen as she quickly looks to him.

"Lee?" she rises, wielding his axe.

"Ow!" Ben whines as he hits his foot on a rock.

"Shh!" Carley hisses. "Is everyone okay? We heard screams as we were coming up to the house!"

Lee shakes his head, his hands shaking slightly. "They attacked us."

"I knew it!" Ben exclaims, shaking his head. "I told you we couldn't trust them!" he whispers to Carley.

"Shit. How many of them are there?"

"Two left."

"Where's everyone else?" she questions in concern, glancing around.

Lee closes his eyes, "Larry's dead. They chopped off Mark's legs and tried to feed them to us!"

Carley and Ben's faces fall as their eyes widen, Carley the first to speak. "Shit!"

"They still have Katjaa, Duck, and (Y/N) in the house, and I don't know where the fuck Kenny is!"

"Okay," Carley moves forward. "We're coming in to help!"

"The main gate is too dangerous," Lee warns, shaking his head. "Go around the fence and see if there's a back way in. I'll keep looking for Kenny. You both have weapons, right?"

Ben grunts as Carley shoves the axe to his chest, making him take it and nearly fall over from the weight of it.

"I don't leave home without it," she shows off her gun, Lee nodding. "Ben, stick close. And Lee, be careful."

The two disappear back into the cornfield as Lee makes his way up to the house, his boots sinking in the mud a little as he walked.

"No, no please! No!"

"Just shut up, and they'll be fine!"

"Lee!"

Lee grimaces with a soft, angry growl under his breath as he creeps forward, slowly pushing the gate open.

"Something's up. I'm gonna take the kids and check around back."

"Let me go! Lee!"

"No, no! Don't take them!"

"Let go, woman!"

Andy's voice fades as he leaves, Brenda continuing.

"Settle down! I don't wanna hurt y'all."

Lee walks slowly up the small hill, cursing as the gate roughly swings and slams behind him from a large gust of wind.

"Andy?" Brenda calls as she walks over to the door, Lee freezing in his tracks. "Danny? Is that you? What's going on out there?"

Lee becomes angry as he swiftly rises, "where are Katjaa and the kids?!"

(?) Lee alerted and frightened Brenda

"Oh... God..." Brenda backs away in fear. "Come here!"

"Let me go!" Katjaa screams.

Lee walks up to the door, his eyes widening at the sight of Brenda holding Katjaa with a gun to her head.

"Lee!" Katjaa cries out.

"Get back!" Brenda firmly says. "Don't come in here! You just had to go snooping around, didn't you?!"

"Let her go, Brenda!" Lee slowly opens the screen door, stepping inside as lightning flashes inside the house.

"Lee! Please, don't you take another step!"

Lee raises his hands in surrender as he starts slowly walking towards them, "Brenda, come on, now. You know you don't want to do this."

Brenda squeezes her eyes shut, shaking her head as she steps up onto the stairs with Katjaa. "Just go away and leave us be!"

Lee continues moving forward at an inching pace, halting as Brenda aims her gun at him.

"Stop right there, I mean it!"

"Think about what you're doing," Lee calmly says, "it doesn't have to end like this."

Brenda shakes her head again as she moves up the stairs more, "I'll kill her, Lee!"

"Just let me go!" Katjaa sobs.

Lightning flashes through the house again, Lee's eyes widening slightly at the sight of Mark at the top. He was reaching through the railing bars, snapping his jaws towards Brenda.

He was a walker.

Lee moves forward again as he keeps his eyes on Mark, Brenda aiming her gun back at him.

"Stay back! Don't do anything stupid!"

Lee's gaze remains steady as he looks her in the eye. "Let her go, Brenda."

"Please, listen to him!"

Brenda's eyes close in guilt as she steps up the stairs further, aiming the gun at Katjaa. "I'll do it!"

"Please..."

Lee walks forward again, Brenda's eyes wide with fright as she aims her gun at him. "I don't want to kill you, Lee!"

His eyes continue to flick up to the walker, "please, don't make this any worse."

Brenda backs away even further, almost within reach of Mark. "Just stop!"

Lee's gaze hardens as he takes two wide steps, Brenda's eyes panicked as she scrambles backwards up the stairs.

She screams as Mark grabs her, her grip releasing around Katjaa and freeing her.

Katjaa staggers forward down the steps, her eyes wide as she grips at her throat in relief.

Brenda screeches as Mark sinks his teeth into her neck, yanking and pulling out the chunk of skin as blood pools out.

"They took Duck and (Y/N)!" Katjaa frantically yells. "Where's Kenny?"

"I said don't move, asshole!"

"Don't fucking hurt them!"

Katjaa and Lee share wide-eyed looks as they run out, Andy holding (Y/N) by her hair and pressing his rifle to the back of Duck's neck.

"Let 'em go, God damn it!" Kenny shouts.

(Y/N)'s eyes were wide as she looked around, her eyes shifting back to Lee when she sees him.

"That ain't gonna happen!"

"Andy, don't!" Lee bellows as he rushes down the hill with Katjaa.

"Shut up!" Andy aims his gun towards Lee, Duck staggering away from him.

Kenny charges forward, Andy swiftly aiming and shooting his side as he cries out and falls over.

"Dad!" Duck cries as he runs over with Katjaa, Katjaa letting out a horrified scream as she falls to Kenny's side.

Andy backs away with (Y/N), aiming his rifle to Lee as he slowly approaches with his hands raised.

"Andy." He firmly says, his eyes narrow as he looks from (Y/N) to the man.

"Who the fuck do you people think you are?!" Andy snarls in a rage, (Y/N) wincing as his grip tightens on her. "Look what you've done!"

Lee scowls as he continues approaching, "you brought this on yourself."

"No! Nu-uh!" Andy denies, shaking his head wildly. "You did this! All we wanted was a little gas to keep ourselves safe!"

Andy suddenly yells out as a bullet strikes through his ear, (Y/N) elbowing him sharply in the groin as she stumbles away from him, using the distraction. Lee swiftly looks over, Carley glaring at Andy with her gun raised. Lee takes the chance to charge at Andy, smacking away his rifle as (Y/N) rushes away to a safe distance.

The two hold the rifle in between them as they struggle to overpower the other, Lee slamming it against his face and shoving him down the hill.

Andy drags him down as well, the two grunting as they tumble and crash through the picket fence.

Lee tries to sit up, Andy rising to his feet quicker and kicking Lee in the face.

He falls back with a sharp cry of pain, Andy panting heavily as he limps over to the generator and turns the fence on.

The fence sizzles as the rain comes into contact with it, Andy marching to Lee.

"Get up!" he snarls, grabbing Lee by the back of his jacket and dragging him. "Get the fuck up!"

Lee struggles to shake away his blurry vision from the kick, grunting and smacking blindly at Andy's hands as he was dragged to the fence.

Andy props Lee onto his knees, holding his hands behind his back with one hand and shoving Lee's face towards the fence with the other.

Lee pushes back on him, losing his strength as his face hovers above the fence. His gaze moves up, noticing Lilly and Clement standing at the barn entrance.

"Lilly! Help!"

Clement steps forward with a gasp, looking up at Lilly. Lilly seems to hesitate, her expression broken as she simply looks away.

"Lee!" (Y/N) yells in fear, Lee grunting as he starts pushing firmly back against Andy's hold.

Lee gets his arm free, elbowing Andy roughly in the gut and knocking him back. He rises and pants heavily as he walks over to Andy, sitting on his stomach to keep him down as he starts punching him roughly over and over.

He grunts with each punch, Andy's face bruising and his jaw swelling up from the force.

The others regroup, Clement racing over to (Y/N) and hugging her tightly as they both cry in fear and relief.

Lee punches Andy's face left-to-right a few times more, his anger slowly subsiding to pity for the man as he breathes heavily and rises off of him.

"Is... that all you got, Lee?" Andy pants as he tries sitting up, his speech slurred from his jaw. "You... ain't shit!"

Lee shakes his head. "It's over!" he roars with a lightning flash, thunder thundering a second after.

"Fuck you...!" Andy's ear gushes blood from Carley's bullet as he lays back down, slowly trying to rise again. "As soon as Dan and mama get out here, you're all fucked!"

He manages to stand, swaying with bruises littering his face.

"I said, it's over!" Lee firmly says, glaring down at Andy with a scoff. "Just walk away."

Lee turns from Andy's crestfallen form, starting towards the group.

"Don't you dare walk away from me, Lee!" Andy shouts, starting to lose his fight and anger as he slumps to his knees. "Get back here and finish this, Lee!"

Lee pauses, turning to Andy. He looks between the group, shaking his head with a heavy sigh as he continues walking to his people.

"Get back here and fight me like a man, Lee!"

(?) Lee spared Andy's life

The fence powers down from lack of gas, giving one last spark as walkers start emerging from the fields.

"Lee!!" Andy shouts, his voice broken and body trembling..

"They're getting in!" Clement gasps, tightly holding (Y/N)'s hand as he points with the other.

Walkers tear down the fence as they push against it, snarling with gurgled groaning.

"Lee!"

Lee ignores Andy's wailing as he walks to his group, looking around carefully with Andy's rifle in his hands. "Let's go."

Clement and (Y/N) rush after him, the rest of the group doing the same. Lilly looks at Andy with pity as she closes her eyes, turning away.

"Lee!!" Andy wails loudly, Brenda staggering out of the house towards him with a chunk of her neck missing and her face chewed up. "Lee...!"

The group leave the farm behind, the storm raging on above them as walkers overrun the area.

...

..

.

As the group walked down the road, the clouds above began to clear, the storm moving on.

Lee lead them with his axe rightfully on his back, everyone silent from the whole ordeal as they walked on.

Lilly walked behind (Y/N) and Clement, Clement still gripping her hand tightly as she held her doll in her other.

She looks over it with a smile, thankful he had cared for it for her.

"Hey, Lee," Carley calls as she lightly jogs to catch up to him. "I'd say I'm sorry for leaving the Motor Inn unattended, but... You know."

Lee chuckles, sighing softly. "I'm glad you showed up when you did. If you hadn't taken that shot at Andy, we all might not have gotten out of there."

Carley smiles, but it falls as she thinks about what he said earlier. "Were they really killing people... For food?"

He looks back at her, nodding stiffly, "yeah. And Clement and (Y/N) almost ate some."

"But...?"

"I stopped them. I can't leave them alone, Carley," Lee heavily sighs as he glances back to the two. "This fucking world, now... It's hiding just... Unspeakable shit at every turn."

Carley reaches into her back pocket, pulling out the camcorder Lee had found. "Katjaa managed to grab this while she was in the house. She said it was with your stuff."

Lee stops and turns to her, taking the camcorder. "Yeah. I found it while I was looking for the people who shot Mark. Do you want it?"

Carley looks down at it, shaking her head with a smile. "Why don't you keep it? Sometimes it helps to have something you can document your thoughts on."

Lee nods, his eyes shifting to Kenny. Kenny was doubled over as he holds his gunshout wound, panting lightly as he groans in pain.

"How are you doing?" Katjaa questions in concern, Kenny forcing a reassuring smile.

"I'll be fine," he ruffles Duck's hair. "I'm just... Not as young as I used to be."

He notices Lee approaching, "hon, go on ahead and give me and Lee a second?"

Katjaa nods, smiling at Lee as she and Duck walk ahead.

Kenny watches the two before his eyes flick to Lilly. "There's going to be fallout."

Lee sighs as he sets his hands on his hips. "For killing Lilly's dad? Yeah, I would imagine so."

"What do you think?"

Lee looks over to Lilly, her gaze focused downward as she tightly held Dan's old rifle.

"I'm with you, Kenny," he says after a moment. "We will do what has to be done."

(?) Kenny noticed Lee's loyalty

"You're damn right," Kenny gives a wide grin as he nods. "Listen. That RV back at the motor inn is just about ready to roll. I want you to come with us. I mean it."

Lee nods, knowing they had to leave sometime. "Okay. Yeah."

Kenny claps his hand on Lee's shoulder as he walks ahead to Katjaa, Lee noticing Clement and (Y/N).

"Come on, you two, stay close."

"He won't let me walk any faster," (Y/N) defends, gesturing with her eyes to Clement's hand wrapped firmly around hers as they walk.

Clement looks back towards the direction of the farm, "Lee... are those bad people dead?"

Lee turns his body to the two, squatting to their heights. "We didn't kill them, so I don't know. They might have been able to get away from the walkers, I'm sure they won't be coming after us."

(?) Lee gave Clement a reassuring answer

"That's good." Clement exhales through his mouth with a nod, his grip loosening on (Y/N)'s hand slightly.

She manages to shake her hand free to rush forward, wrapping her arms around Lee's neck and hugging him with small sniffles.

Lee sets a hand on the back of her head for comfort, "it's all right, sweet pea. You're safe now."

(Y/N) pulls away, wiping away at her tears as she nods. Clement moves back to her side, watching her with a frown before smiling slightly as she takes his hand again.

Lee rises, smiling down at the two and looking back to the others.

"Hey dad?" Duck calls, a low humming nearby. "What's that noise?"

Kenny's brows furrow as he walks ahead, listening carefully and his expression confused. "Sounds like a car..."

Ben immediately panics, "oh, God! Not more strangers!"

Lee pushes through the others to Kenny's side, the two sharing a narrowed-eyed look as they start walking ahead.

A station wagon comes into view, the engine on and rumbling and the headlights bright. The car doors were also left opened.

Lee and Kenny move into positions, both crouching.

Lee looks over the bush he was hiding behind, glancing around the area. "Don't shoot. We're here to help!" he calls to the car, recieving no reply.

Kenny and Lee share another look as Lee starts to slowly walk forward, approaching the car.

He peers inside the opened car door, his brows furrowed when he sees no one. He takes the keys out of the ignition to silence the vehicle, the gas tank empty.

"Figures," Lee sighs, wishing there was gas so they could drive back to the inn.

"Oh, crap!" Kenny says in awe. "Baby, you gotta see this!"

He was looking through the back window, the station wagon packed full of supplies in boxes.

"There's a shit load of food and supplies back here!"

The group approaches, (Y/N) frowning and shaking her head as she and Clement watch.

"This food could save all of us!" Katjaa exclaims in relief.

"Not all of us." Lilly mutters under her breath, her voice hoarse from crying.

Kenny looks to her, sighing and grumbling under his breath as Duck looks up at him in question.

"Look..." Ben steps forward, an uneasy expression on his face. "We don't know if these people are dead."

"If they come back, then we're just monsters who came out of the woods and ruined their life," Lilly firmly speaks up, disapproval in her tone.

"This-- this isn't ours," (Y/N) quietly says, no one but Clement noticing.

"Dad, who's car is it?"

"Don't worry about that, Duck," Kenny sets his hand on Duck's head reassuringly. "It's ours now."

"It's abandoned, Ducky," Katjaa gently speaks. "Don't worry."

(Y/N) shakes her head, Clement clearing his throat and speaking loudly. "But what if it's not?!"

(Y/N) looks to him in surprise, the others also turning to the boy. He motions with his chin to speak up, (Y/N) nodding as she sheepishly looks to them.

"Stealing is wrong."

Clement nods quickly in agreement, "what if it isn't abandoned? What if it is someone's?"

Lee looks to the two with conflicting eyes, his gaze turning to the stacked boxes. He turns away with a heavy sigh, walking over to the two.

"You're right. We shouldn't take this."

(?) Lee and (Y/N) and Clement chose not to steal the food

"What?" Kenny questions in disbelief. "Did you get some meal back there the rest of us missed out on? We have to take this stuff."

Lee turns to Kenny, "we can survive without it."

"The hell we can!" Kenny disagrees, shaking his head.

"We'll find a way."

"The rest of us are taking this stuff," Kenny holds out his hand, Lee sighing as he tosses him the key.

Kenny catches it, unlocking the back door and opening it. "Okay, what have we got in here?" he muses.

Lee sighs as he watches the group pick at the vehicle like vultures, hoping the person who owned this would be okay.

He feels a small tug at his hand, Clement's free hand holding Lee's as he held (Y/N)'s in his other.

"There's so much!" Ben says in awe.

"They have antibiotics!" Katjaa chuckles in relief. "Is there any more?"

"See if there's any water," Carley calls, looking inside the front of the car.

"Here," Kenny hands Ben a box full of supplies, Ben looking at it with wide eyes and a smile.

Duck watched Kenny from the front seat with a grin, Carley moving back when she found only batteries in the glove box.

"Got it?" Kenny asks softly in concern as Katjaa grabs a large box of medicine.

"Yeah, I got it." She smiles, her eyes noticing a red hoodie. "Lee? There's a hoodie in here. Could probably fit Clement or (Y/N)."

Lee looks down at the two in question, (Y/N) shaking her head and Clement mouthing 'nah'.

"They're good, thanks."

"Whatever man," Kenny sighs, hoisting up a box. "It's gonna get cold out eventually."

"Hey," Carley calls as she walks over, holding out the batteries. "There were some batteries in the glove box. I thought they might work in your camcorder."

She hands some to Lee, offering the rest to Clement. "Here, you can have some too. For your walkie-talkie."

"Batteries, huh?" Lee questions in a teasing tone. "Think you can handle those?"

Carley huffs, crossing her arms. "You're never going to let me live that down, are you?"

Lee hands over his camcorder with an amused smile, Clement looking his batteries with an unsure expression.

Carley presses play, watching the video on the camcorder. Her eyes widen, her face falling.

"Oh, God... Lee? You're going to want to see this."

...

The video opens with a recording of the motel, Mark and Larry carrying a couch from the motel to use for the wall as Kenny and Lee push a car.

Lilly approaches (Y/N) and Clement coloring, squatting to their levels with a kind smile.

The screen cuts to another video. The back of Jolene's shoes were shown as she backed away, people wearing the same bandit masks approaching.

"Jake, Bart, Linda, and all y'all fucking sickos from the Save Lots! They call y'all bandits, but you're fucking rapist monsters--!!"

It cuts again to the motel, Carley sitting by Clement and (Y/N) as they draw together with Ben sitting near them.

"Oh, darling babies, look at you! Look. At. You. Oh, you need a mama, sweethearts!" Jolene speaks to the camera, Lee walking over to the two. "We won't let them bandits get you."

"How ya doing, you two?"

"Okay," (Y/N) responds, looking back to Clement.

Lee does the same, noticing something was off. "Where's your hat?"

"I don't know," Clement frowns as he scratches the back of his head. "Can you help me and (Y/N) find it?"

Lee nods, pulling his hand off (Y/N)'s head. "Sure, bud. When did you lose it?"

"I had it a couple of days ago..."

"We were looking around for it, and found my (Favorite Animal) doll over by the dumpster," (Y/N) mentions, looking over to her doll sitting on her drawing.

Lee's brows furrow as he rubs his chin, "well... I promise, if I find it, I'll let you know."

"All thinking you're safe, sitting there actin' like things are the way they used to be!" Jolene turns the camera to herself, scowling. "The dead don't kill their own. It's the living you gotta be afraid of... The people I used to call friends... The people who took..."

She closes her eyes, letting out a shakey sigh. "Don't worry, little darlings. Bandits got their eye on that dairy. As long as they keep getting food from them... You'll be safe. I promise."

...

..

.

Next time, on The End of the World...

"Macon is done, pal. Ain't nothing left," Kenny sighs, he and Lee walking the streets of Macon. "We gotta get the hell out of here. Lee, I need you to back me up on this."

...

"Is this all you got?!" Lilly demands.

"I told you, this town is tapped! Do you have any idea what we had to do to get all that?! We need to leave!"

...

"Duck was asking about the farm last night. Not much phases him... But it's starting to add up. I need to get to the coast. Get 'em out of all this madness."

...

Lee rises from his hiding spot, firing his rifle at bandits.

...

"Lilly's not doing so good, huh?"

"Well... We killed her dad."

"... We did kill her dad."

...

"Maybe people out there got things lined up better! Better than us, at least. Could be folks who have all this shit figured out."

...

"Do people get mad when they're scared?" Clement questions, looking back to (Y/N) as she leans on the train wall, dozing off. "I do when I'm scared she's gonna get hurt."

Lee nods, "sometimes, yeah... They do."

...

"This is crazy!" Carley yells.

"I'm the one keeping this group going!" Lilly roars in anger.

"We can sort this all out, all right?! We can sort this out!" Kenny firmly speaks.

"I'll tell you what we need to sort out!" Lilly glares between the group. "We can't let one person fuck this up for everyone else!!"

...

A gunfire goes off.
