Have you ever had those days when you feel like you have everything and then the next day its gone? I spent six years going on quests, fighting battles and wars, just to find out I was apparently never going to live a normal life. Hades, I would have just taken 3/4 of a normal life instead of the one I was born with.

Really I shouldn't be complaining. My mom did a great job raising me. She protected me by marrying this guy who mentally and almost physically abused us, and eventually sending me to Camp Half Blood. And my mom, she was amazing. She was finally living her dream of becoming a writer. Plus, when I started high school, she and my English teacher, Paul, started dating. They planned a spring wedding.

But somewhere along the line, things began to crumble. I mean, I was the Swim Team captain, no surprise there, I had an amazing girlfriend, Annabeth, and I had great friends. I had the good life, for a 17 year old demigod. Except, its gone now. I really don't know how, or why it happened.

The weekend before senior year started, there was a party held by a friend of mine, Mike Connors. Call it a 'back to school' party if you will. Annabeth and I went to it, it was sort of obligatory for me. About two hours later, my friend Jason runs up to me freaking out.

"Dude, you need to see this." He said. I followed him to a room where Annabeth was sucking another guys face off.

It wasn't like Annabeth to do something like that. I'm not talking about the girls who seem so loyal and have guys wrapped around their fingers. I'm talking about the fact that Annabeth's mother is Athena, goddess of wisdom and battle strategy, she ran away from home at the age of seven because of her step mother and gained trust issues on her way to camp, and the fact that she was my best friend since we were twelve.

I couldn't wrap my head around what was happening, so I turned and ran. I didn't have Paul's car so I ran home. As I was crossing the street, a drunk driver slammed into me, at least I think they were drunk, and my leg basically shattered from the knee down. I must have blacked out because I woke up in the hospital with a cast on my leg, mid thigh to right before my toes.

Chiron was sitting beside me in his wheel chair with a concerned look on his face, and my father, Poseidon, was standing by the door. I thought maybe all that happened was my fault, and told them both I didn't want ambrosia, nectar, or any godly healing. I couldn't avoid drinking water, and bathing, so I asked my dad if he'd let me heal like a human. I've been getting used to crutches, although it's not as easy to move across camp with them as I initially had thought.
