Chapter 22
Here is another one so don't hunt me down for chapter pls TwT (Nah I'm kidding! It'll reminder to post more often!) Enjoy. Also, more cheesy stuff :p
Socks held his arm, which was bleeding fast. He needed shelter. He ran into a building, and hid behind the wall. Seth came around the corner, looking for him. Socks held his breath, praying with every fiber of his soul. Seth ignored the building he was in, and left. He let out the breath he was holding, glad he was safe. For now at least. He didn't dare to make a light to see, as it was night. He didn't want to risk Seth seeing it. He stood up, and walked around, when his foot hit something. He didn't know what it was, but Seth was still nearby. Curiosity got the best of him, and he made a small thing of light. He gasped. It was Blaza. His chest rose up and down, showing that he was alive. He looked around, and saw Laff also on the ground. His chest was rising and falling too. He sighed with relief. They were okay. "Blaza, wake up!" Socks whispered, shaking. Blaza groaned, his voice sounding weird. "Blaza, are you okay?" Socks asked. Blaza opened his eyes, and quickly sat up. "Socks?" Blaza asked. "Whoa, what happened to your voice?" Socks asked, backing up. Blaza was confused, then realized what he meant. "Uh...ask Seth." "Oh. Then does that mean..." Socks asked, looking at Laff. "Yep. He has my voice and I have his." Blaza said. Socks shivered. "That's weird as hell." Blaza chuckled. "You can say that again. But now my turn to ask questions. What happened to your arm?" Socks looked at his arm, wincing. "Ask Seth." Socks said. Blaza's fists clenched. "Socks?" Socks and Blaza turned to see Laff waking. "Oh, thank God you're okay." Laff sighed. "Yeah, but we need to figure out what to do with you two." Socks said. "Yeah...we were looking for Sonja. We thought she could help us." Laff said. "Probably." Socks said. "Didn't think to invite me?" They three of them whipped their heads around, and Seth was in the doorway. "So you two switched voices? That's fun!" Seth laughed. Laff and Blaza glared at him, wanting to shove something in him. "But that means you can still yell for help, so..." Seth said. "RUN!" Blaza yelled. The three of them split up, and tried to escape. But Seth was too quick, and trapped the three of them. "Let us go Seth!" Socks said. "Why? So you can run to your friends?" Seth asked. His fingers glowed, and they went right into Socks neck. "No!" Laff yelled. Socks struggled to get out, but it was too late. Seth took his voice, the white orb in his hand. He made another box, and placed the orb inside it. Socks panted, his head empty of ideas. "One down, two to go." Seth smirked. Laff summoned a green disc, and cut the vine he was stuck in. He fell to the ground, and began to run. "Run Laff, run!" Blaza yelled. Laff ran as fast as he could, and shot at Seth a green disc. It hit Blaza instead, just as Seth was pulling Laff's voice. Seth, shocked, dropped the orb and the box. Laff ran back, and quickly grabbed the orb, and stuff it in the box. He dodged the vines, his sides screaming in pain. Seth suddenly appeared in front of him. Laff kicked him square in the chest, like he expected him to appear. Seth grunted, and stumbled back. Laff turned back to see Blaza and Socks on the ground, and ran to them. Black vines grabbed his ankles, and he tripped. He hit his head on a rock, and stars appeared in his vision. "You...are...a son of a bitch!" Seth yelled. Laff sat up, and Seth held him up. He reached into his throat, and pulled out Blaza's voice. Laff, enraged, made a sword, and shoved it into Seth chest. Seth screamed in pain, and dropped Laff. Laff grabbed the orb in Seth's hand, and ran to the other two. He stuff the third orb in the box, and the three of them ran. They made it to the local park, and stopped running. Laff held the box close to him so tight, it dug into his chest. Blaza tried to talk, but nothing came out. His head was pounding after being hit with the disc. He sighed, putting his head on his knees. Socks looked at the box, and gave Laff a look. Laff opened the box, and the three orbs glowed. But who was who's? Laff rubbed his neck, unsure of what to do. "Just risk it?" Both Blaza and Laff jumped when Socks spoke to them telepathically. Laff shook his head. "Give me the voices, or Nadwe gets hurt." They whipped their heads around, and saw Seth, holding a terrified Nadwe in vines. "I already took his voice, and I'll gladly take something else." Seth said. Nadwe whimpered, his face looking paler against the black veins. Socks spotted Nadwe's voice in one of the vines. He shot a light beam at it and it broke. Blaza dove for Nadwe's voice, but it went right into his throat. Nadwe took a moment to process what had just happened. Blaza dodged the vines Seth shot at him in anger. Laff cut Nadwe free, and grabbed his hand. The four of them ran, Laff carrying the last three voices. "COME BACK HERE!" Seth yelled. He raced after them, and shot a vine at Laff. He tripped, and the box shattered. The three orbs went randomly to someone, giving them a voice. "Just go!" Laff said. He spoke in Socks voice. He cursed in his head as the others ran alongside him. Nadwe turned and saw a river, which went through the whole community. He tugged on Socks arm, and pointed to the river. Socks nodded, and he and Nadwe turned in that direction. Laff and Blaza followed them, and Seth followed them. Nadwe, Socks, Blaza, and Laff quickly jumped into the river, and were rushed down it. Seth screamed in anger, and ripped a tree out of the ground. He panted, pissed that they had gotten away again. "I'll get you if it's the last thing I do!" He screamed.
...
Blaza groaned, his body sore. "Easy Blaza. You're safe." It was Meme. He opened his eyes, and saw Meme and Tbh sitting next to him. "How you doing?" Tbh asked. Blaza shrugged. "I guess I'm fine." he put his hand to his mouth, as he had just spoken in Nadwe's voice. "We found out about the voice deal, but this is weird." Meme said. Blaza sighed. "No kidding. What about the others?" "Nadwe's asleep, Socks is asleep, and Laff...I don't know. I haven't seen him yet." Tbh said. "He's asleep." Meme said. Blaza chuckled. "We jumped into the river to get away from Seth...wait, how do you know about the voice situation if we were asleep this whole time?" Blaza asked. He looked up at Meme and Tbh, but they were gone. Instead, Seth was there. "I always know." Vines surrounded him, and he screamed.
Blaza sat up, sweat dripping down his face. He panted, the vision of Seth haunting him. "Holy shit." Blaza whispered. Still Nadwe's voice. He looked around, and saw they were on the shore of a small part of the river. Socks, Nadwe, and Laff were all still asleep. Blaza sighed. He wiped the rest of river water from his hair, and stood up. "Blaza?" Blaza turned and saw Nadwe was awake. But it was Laff who spoke. "Wait..." Nadwe quickly started to panic. "Hey, breath." Blaza said. "What? How..." Nadwe started to hyperventilate. "Nadwe!" Blaza said. Nadwe looked at Blaza, fear trickling inside him. "Listen, I know you're scared, but we're going to find Sonja. She may be able to fix this, okay?" Nadwe nodded. "This is so wrong, Laff's voice is WAY too deep for me." "I thought you would be complaining about his accent." Blaza asked. Nadwe chuckled. "It's not that bad. But I won't be living with it for the rest of my life." Blaza smiled. Nadwe stayed close to Blaza, and fell asleep again. Blaza could feel that his heart rate was still fast, and his breath was shaky. He was still scared. Blaza sighed. A few minutes passed by, when just then. "Oh man." Blaza jumped when he heard his own voice. He looked to see Socks waking up. "What happened?" Socks asked. He held his hand to his throat, taking deep breaths. "Yeah, you have my voice." Blaza sighed. Nadwe suddenly woke up, probably from the talking. "And Laff had my voice, so that means that Nadwe has Laff's?" Socks asked. Nadwe nodded. Blaza gave Nadwe a tight hug, and Nadwe sighed. "How did he even get you? Weren't you with the doctors?" Socks asked. Nadwe shivered, and changed into a bat. "Sorry, I just...it was..." Blaza took Nadwe, and held him close. "We can ask about it later. You're tired." Nadwe sighed. "Listen, let's wake Laff up, and plan where to go next." Socks said. Blaza nodded. "Better to be walking." Socks went over to Laff, and shook him. "Laff, wake up!" Laff groaned. "What's going on?" Socks flinched. He wasn't used someone speaking with his own voice. Laff sat up, rubbing his neck. "Man, my body is so sore." "Yeah, but we need to get moving. We need to find the others." Socks said. Laff nodded. He got up, the gasped, and fell to the ground. "Laff!" Socks yelped. "I'm fine." Laff said stiffly. He looked at his leg to see a large rock stuck in it. "Oh God." Blaza said. Nadwe buried himself in Blaza's arms, not wanting to see what had happened. "That's a bump in the road." Socks sighed. Laff groaned. "At least it wasn't my ankle." "What do we do?" Socks asked. "Laff, I suggest you hold your breath." Blaza said. His eyes glowed, and the rock came out of his leg fast. Laff yelped in pain, holding his leg. Socks ripped some cloth off his sweater, and wrapped it around Laff's leg. "That should work for now." Socks sighed. Laff nodded. "C'mon, let's go." Socks helped Laff up, and let him lean against him. Blaza got up, still holding Nadwe. They slowly made their up the bank, and went into the ruined community. "Where do we go now?" Laff asked. Blaza shrugged. "They could be anywhere." They walked around for few more minutes, when suddenly, Meme came around the corner, covered in sweat. "THERE YOU GUYS ARE!" He ran to them and grabbed Socks in a hug. "Oh thank God you guys are okay, we all were worried sick." Meme said. Socks held Meme tight, thankful that his best friend was alive. "What happened to you guys?" Meme asked. Socks hesitated before answering. "We've got a bit of an issue." Meme stepped back, looking at Socks in shock. "What the hell happened to your voice?! Why do you sound like Blaza?!" "Seth switched our voices up, and we need to find Sonja. She may know how to help us." Socks said. Suddenly, Nadwe flew out of Blaza's arms, and into Meme's hoodie. "Nadwe! Oh thank God you're alive!" Meme said. He pulled Nadwe out, and hugged him tight. Nadwe felt tears prick his eyes, and his heart lifted. "Wait, if you're with them, then does that mean..." Meme left the sentence hanging in the air. "Yeah, his voice is mine now. He has Laff's, Laff has Socks's, and I have Nadwe's." Blaza said. Meme stared at them, the shook his head. "Jezz, that's going to take a while to get used to." "You'll get used to it." Laff said. Meme sighed. "At least you guys are alive. Everyone except you guys managed to get together. Me, Tbh, and Jooice went looking for you. The three of us started at where Ally last saw Laff. After that, we splitted up. I saw Seth over by the river bank, looking ticked. I hid in shadows until he left, and went over there to investigate. And that's where I found this." Meme reached into his pocket, and pulled out Laff's gas mask. "I didn't realize I lost it!" Laff gasped. He grabbed it, and sighed. "Thanks dude." Laff suddenly shivered. "Okay, not gonna lie, I don't like not having a British accent." "I think we all know that Laff." Socks said. All of them laughed, finding it very funny for some reason. "Come on, we're not far from our base." Meme said. He put his hoodie up, and placed Nadwe inside. Nadwe curled into a little ball, and became lost in thought. Meme started to lead the others to the base, over all the rubble and destruction. "I can't believe Seth did this." Laff said. "It's horrible. I saw someone dead under the rubble. I just...I just buried them." Meme said. Nadwe felt something wet hit his head. He looked up to see tears falling from Meme's face. He snuggled close to him, giving Meme some comfort. "That must've been rough." Socks said, squeezing Meme's shoulder. "Yeah. And I just...I just felt guilty. I mean, Seth followed us here, so he tried to attack us, and next thing you know, the whole community is destroyed, people are either dead or injured, and people's familes are broken." Meme said. "Hey, stop saying that stuff. Chaos was going to attack the Tueres no matter what, he has been for so long." Laff said. Meme was still quiet, then sighed. "Thanks guys. It's been so hard dealing with this." Socks gave Meme a hug, and Meme hugged him back, sighing. Nadwe nudged him, and Meme chuckled. "I didn't forget you Nadwe." Meme took him out carefully, and hugged him. Nadwe changed back to human, and hugged him back tight. "You know, this whole time you've been quiet." Meme said. Nadwe felt his face get red, and didn't know what to do. "Not gonna lie, Laff's voice is too deep for him." Blaza said. "Fair enough. We'll get this sorted out, kay?" Nadwe nodded, glad not to talk. They continued on their way, when they came to an empty field. Meme went to his knees, and rubbed some sand away. His eyes glowed light blue, and some water went down into the ground. Something clicked, and a few feet ahead of them, a hole opened up, small enough for them to go down. "Come on." Meme said. A ladder led the way down, and Meme slid down it. "Well, let's go." Laff said. "How are you going to get down? You're injured." Blaza asked. "I'll be fine." Laff said. Socks felt his stomach twist. Hearing Laff say that he was fine gave Socks bad memories. Laff carefully went onto the ladder, and slid down the ladder. Nadwe went on next, then Blaza. "Help us." "Don't leave us, please." "Please." Socks whipped his head around, his heart racing. "Not again." Socks whispered. He quickly went down the ladder, but the voices continued. He hit the bottom, but he didn't let go of the ladder. "Socks, are you good?" Meme asked. A sudden urge to lie filled him. He hit his head on the ladder, and Meme pulled him. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. What's going on?" Meme asked. "The voices, they're back." Socks said. He held Meme tight, scared. "Hey, breath. You're tired. Let's get you to a bed." Meme said. Socks nodded, his heart pounding. Meme helped him, and the group slowly made their way through the underground base. Meme opened a door, and multiple doors were on the sides. "Socks, yours can be the third one on the left." Meme said. He brought him in, and placed him on the cot. "Get some rest Socks." Meme said. Socks nodded, and closed his eyes. They four of them left, and Meme sighed. "Come on, let's go say hi to the others." Meme led them through the long, twisting halls, and Nadwe didn't like it. It made his head hurt, and his head still hurt from the memories he had gotten when he saw Laff, Blaza, and Socks. Meme opened a door, and the three of the gasped. It reminded them of the base in Star Wars. "Guys!" Muffin ran over to them, and grabbed Nadwe in a hug. Nadwe hugged him back, glad to his one of his best friends. "Where's Sonja?" Meme asked Muffin. "I last saw her over by the observer. Why?" Muffin asked. "Um...Seth may have switched the four of their voices up." Meme said. Muffin didn't have a big reaction. "So, who has who's voices." Muffin asked. "Socks has Blaza voice, Laff has Socks voice, Nadwe has Laff's voice, and Blaza has Nadwe's voice." Meme said. "Huh. Okay." Muffin said. Nadwe's head was pounding from all the talking and the craziness of the day. He needed to get out. He turned away, and went back to the rooms. He saw a supply closet, and went inside it. He locked it, and sighed. His head was spinning, and he took a deep breath. Laff's breath came instead, and he jumped. "Damnit." he whispered. The British accent came through, and he sighed. What was he supposed to do? He sat on an upside-down bucket, rubbing his face. "I think you need blood." Nadwe jumped, and fell off the bucket. Supplies fell on his head, and he yelped. Meme flew in the air, avoiding the chaos. "Oop. Sorry." "Ow." Nadwe groaned. Meme changed back, and helped him up. "God, my head." Nadwe whispered. He quickly put his hand to his mouth, and his cheeks got hot. Meme gave him a look. "Do you really think that I care about your voice?" Nadwe sighed. "No. But it's just so wrong for me! His voice is so much deeper than mine!" Meme held Nadwe close, and Nadwe hugged him. "I know it's tough for you, but as soon as we find Sonja, and Socks is better, we'll switch them. Kay?" Meme said. Nadwe nodded. "Are you okay Meme? You seemed...sad when we came in." Meme looked away, and sighed. "I'm thinking about her. What I would give to see her again." Nadwe knew who he was thinking about. Wictoria. "How long has it been?" Nadwe asked. Meme was considered his father, so Wictoria was considered his mother. "If I'm right, another month or two until...until that day." Meme said. Tears fell off his face. He thought about the unknown dead person under the rubble. Did they have a someone they loved, and now they were gone? "Meme." Meme snapped back to reality, and Nadwe was staring at him, worry in his eyes. "Sorry...just a lot has happened." Meme said. "I know how that feels. When I saw Laff, Socks, and Blaza, so many memories came back at once, and now my head hurts like hell." Nadwe said. Meme hugged him, and said. "Let's get you to bed. You're exhausted." "But what about my voice?" Nadwe asked, his hand on his throat. "I'm pretty sure the other two are going to want to rest too. Not to mention, you're freezing! What happened?" Meme asked. "River. I never realized I was cold until now." Nadwe said, holding his arms close to him. Meme chuckled, then helped him up. They went out of the supply closet, and they went into the hallway. Nadwe winced, holding his head. More random memories came inside his head. Meme held him steady as he tried to sort everything out. "What do you see?" Meme asked. "I don't know. I just saw Jooice laying on the floor, in pain. We were in someones bedroom." Nadwe said. When Jooice first cracked his head. "Listen, how about tomorrow when you get your voice back, we'll start working out the memories. With the ones you already have, and what comes at random." Meme said. Nadwe softly smiled. "Thanks." Meme smiled, and lead him to an empty room. "You can sleep here for now." Meme said. Nadwe went into bed, and sighed. "You're safe Nadwe. I'm in the room to your right." Meme said. "Thanks Meme. Good night." Nadwe said softly, his eyes fluttering. "Night Nadwe." Meme said quietly, and shut the door behind him. He went back to the main room, where Muffin, Blaza and Laff were. "Is he okay?" Muffin asked. "For some reason, all his memories are jumbled, and he doesn't remember a lot. And the voice thing is kinda freaking him out. He's drained." Meme said. Laff and Blaza looked at each other. "Any word on Sonja?" Blaza asked. "No, she went out looking for people." Muffin said. Meme groaned. "When will she be back?" "Latest, morning." Muffin said. Meme sighed with relief. "Hopefully Nadwe will sleep in." "Can we go to bed now? I'm exhausted." Laff said. Everyone laughed after that, even Laff. "Yeah, you guys can go. Can you show them the rooms, Muffin? I need to do something here first." Meme said. "Sure." Muffin said. Muffin left with Blaza and Laff, and Meme sighed. He pulled out the picture of him and Wictoria. He remembered when he first got the photo. Socks had given it to him, and then Laff, who was still evil, blew up his house. Then they went onto the crazy roller coaster ride that they were still in right now. "Wic...What am I supposed to do?" Meme whispered to himself. He closed his eyes, and sighed. He put the picture away, and went to bed.
