Chapter-1: Phoenix

I watched the fiery ball, as it glided smoothly upon the night sky, glittering like the stars that littered it. Many of them, the humans, watched it fall upon them, eyes lit with worry, wonder, fear and all other emotions that defined how they truly felt watching the beauty bring destruction upon them. Phoenix crashed on them, leaving a path of pure grey color of destruction on her wake. The ones she touched directly with her delicate fingers vanished into nothingness. Those were the fortunate ones, for the ones whom she passed by were left in such a condition that one would not wish even upon their worst enemies. Phoenix laughed with glee as all her tormentors, her sisters' tormentors, burned in front ofher eyes. I didn't laugh. Not because I felt pity for them. No, that was not the reason. After all, why would I feel remorse for these vile creatures? The same creatures I created, the same ones my daughters nourished, just for them to kill- no, to torment my precious daughters. Yet, I didn't laugh. Why? Because I felt no emotion towards them.

Phoenix was content. She had taken her revenge. She returned. Pure as she had always been. Untainted, unlike what those vile creatures had left her. My eldest daughter returned by my side, in the same form she had left to care for her tormentors. She returned, and with her, she brought all the warmth from the earth, leaving my creations to suffer the extreme coldness that they had invited upon themselves.
