Chapter-3: Aqua

I could see her freezing up, faster and faster. Yet, she need not worry. Today's turn was hers. She could do whatever she liked to them, my creations. Tonight, the love of her life shall call her. The attraction will be so high, so intense, that she will not be able to withstand it, and it was for the best. Not for the beings, but for her.

The time had come. The oceans formed tides higher than the Everest and splashed onto the creatures. I could see them sputtering and splattering as they tried to swim away from the life-giving water that was now, set out to wipe their existence. Some even tried to swim away, but their efforts were futile. I could even see the rivers drying and collecting beside Chandra-- the moon and Aqua's love. This time, though, I couldn't be indifferent to what was happening below on the earth. I could feel a single drop of tear betray my eyes, but I quickly wiped it away. No, the drop was not because I had started to pity humans. It was because my other creations were being harmed as well.

"What is wrong, my love? Aren't you happy that you have punished the ones who have hurt you all? Aren't you happy that you are finally here, with us, in your home?" Chandra asked Aqua once he saw her saddened face. "No, my love. I am yet to feel complete, but in order to do that, I must pull out every last drop of water from the earth. And I don't want to do that because as much as I want to punish the humans, I do not want to harm the other innocent creations." Aqua replied with sadness lacing her voice.

"Worry not, my child, for I hate to see the innocent suffer as well. I shall send Opal, my trusted friend to bring the lives of all the innocent, no matter who they are, here with me. They came from me and they shall become one with me with minimal suffering. But child, remember not to withdraw the water from the humans. I do not wish to rid them of their sufferings this early."

"As you wish."

Upon my calling, Opal brought all my innocent children to me within seconds. I could feel their- or rather their souls'- joy and happiness on seeing me- their creator. They held no contempt for what I had done, only thankfulness for ridding them from their suffering. And it was not a surprising matter, for all these were the kindest and the purest souls on Terra.

With a quick incantation, I called all these souls within me. As I did that, I could see Aqua come into presence between me and her spouse, in her full holiness, a bright smile lingering on her lips.
