Chapter 1: The move

Russia stood against the wall of the salesroom, boredly staring at the floor, which reflected a little of the lights in the gloomy room. She took steps that came towards her.

"What's the matter with you, it's a party and at parties you dance and enjoy life while you still can or not?", someone unknown asked her.

"Yes, but I'm not a fan of parties. Especially ones with this terrible music!", complained bored Russia.

The unknown Countryhuman offered her: "Then how about we go outside?"

She said: "The main thing is that I'm away from this yowling!"

They walked past the people and away from the music. Once outside, Russia finally relaxed a bit.

"What does someone like you actually do at a party like this?", he then asked her.

"My sister Ukraine really wanted me to go to her birthday party!", Russia told him.

"My little brother Canada has a crush on your sister. Every day he's like, Mom, Dad you know I've met the most beautiful girl ever!", he imitated.

"My sister raves about your brother in a similar way! Why are you here anyway?", she asked the unknown Countryhuman.

He replied: "Because of my brother, Canada! What's your name?"

"I'm Russia and you?", she answered him.

"America!"

Russia remembered it clearly when she first met America.

Little did she know at the time how devious and mean he was, but after he lied to her, she was able to convince her father to move to the country. Although Ukraine was a bit sad about it, Canada had promised to visit her.

They were just driving to their new house, which is in some village where they had lived before.

Russia didn't know why her family had moved, but she remembered a good friend she had at the time. He had a black, white, red flag, but she couldn't remember his name.

She continued to stare out the car window for a while.

While there, the family put some items into the house. Other things, like their beds, were already in the house. It smelled strange, but everything was better than in the city.

The first thing Russia did was clear her room. After she was done with that, since she didn't have much, she lay down on the bed.

Tomorrow she would go to the new school. Russia daydreamed a bit more before her father called her as dinner was ready, after that she went for a little walk to look around the area and to see if she could remember.

For some reason, Russia was very attracted to the beautiful forest, but didn't want to explore it until later.

She looked around the street her father had forbidden her to go. She guessed that was the street where they used to live.

Russia saw a boy about her age playing ball with a german shepherd in the front yard. He had the flag that she could still remember and went to him.

"Lilly out! You know papa doesn't like it when all the balls are busted again!", complained the teenage Countryhuman.

Russia greeted him when she was closer to him: "Hello, you have a beautiful dog!"

The person addressed was not used to being spoken to by others his age and stuttered: "G-Good evening and thank you! You look familiar somehow!"

"You look familiar too, I think we used to be neighbors didn't we?", she asked the boy.

He said: "I think so too, but then you moved away because our parents didn't get along well, right?"

"Exactly! We moved back here, but a few blocks away.", Russia informed him.

The boy with the dog then asked: "Do I see you at school tomorrow?"

"Yes of course, but why tomorrow?", she asked him.

He replied: "I have to go back inside, my dad just wanted me to take Lilly out for a little bit. See you tomorrow!"

Russia said goodbye to him: "Well then, bye!"

The boy went back into the house with the dog.

Russia continued to move through the streets, but instead of going to the forest, she went home.

Unfortunately, she still didn't know his name, but he still seemed as friendly as he used to be.

For the first time in her life, she looked forward to school. She even went to bed extra earlier than usual to fall asleep quickly.
