-Sky's POV-
"Good morning, Sky! How are you today?" It's been about a year since I joined Blue Pegasus, which contained a lot. For starters, my magic has grown at least ten times more convenient. This includes the ever dependable Magic Radar, which helps me see the strength and magical abilities of my opponent. I also got a little more used to Ichiya's weirdness, although it does sometimes put me on edge. "I'm alright, Jenny. How about you?" "I'm doing A-okay. We were all thinking of doing a job later today. You wanna come?" I was often a supporting role in jobs. Since I wanted to help the others strengthen their magic, I let them take the lead. "Yeah, sure! I don't see why not." "It's a little more than your average job opportunity." Hibiki said, walking over. "Our task is to defeat a strong demon. It's just low enough not to be S class, but high enough to earn about equal Jewel. We wouldn't want it hurting a fair lady like you." I flinched a bit. Oh, so we are doing this again? I used telekinesis to lift Hibiki in the air before he could do anything perverted. "Oh? So your forgetting I'm stronger than you?" Jenny laughed at Hibiki's suffering. "I'm sorry Sky PLEASE just put me down!" "Okay." I said, releasing the spell but letting him drop to the floor. Kaori, who had just walked in, also burst out laughing. "Quite a dangerous parfume , maaaaaaan." Ichiya said in the background, only to be lifted in the air by Kaori's vine.
After Ren and Eve came, we set out to the forest in order to find the monster we would kill. "So, what kind of monster is it supposed to be anyways?" Ren asked in curiosity. "Out of what I can tell, extremely dangerous. I'm surprised it's even being considered non S-class." Ren looked away as if deciding he shouldn't have asked. "So, if it is that dangerous, how are we going to beat it?" Kaori continued, asking me for a strategy. I sighed in exasperation. "This is harder than it sounds, but you, Ren and Eve should try to pin it down, while Jenny and I destroy it." Everyone nodded in agreement, when something whizzed past us. "It's coming. Get ready!" "It's here ALREADY?" Jenny asked in confusion. That was when it emerged from the shadows, only to come out AS a shadow. It was a being to represent almost all Darkness, and we had driven it from it's lair. As if on instant, Ren surrounded both us and the monster in an arena of wind, while Kaori tried to trap it in vines. The monster swiveled away before getting caught. "Shoot. I missed." "I DID say it's harder than it looks, didn't I?" After a while of trying to entrap it, the trio was running out of energy. "Okay, I'll try some tricks." I leaped in the air, and concentrated energy to form a rope. Something was different when the monster sensed me. It was as if it had my abilities, knew my magic. It barred out its claws, in an attack stance. "Fine, we can work that way." I drew my sword, ready to strike, when I saw it come up to me in no attack pattern I had ever seen. By the time I realized that was no attack, it was too late.
-Kaori's POV-
"Sky, run! It's trying to-" before I could finish my sentence, the monster had already merged its body into hers. Sky was possessed by an almost S-class shadow. "No..." the others looked up, confused. "Where did the monster go?" "Wasn't it about to attack Sky?" "What happened to Sky anyways?" I couldn't have been the only one to see what actually happened, was I? A quintet of swords rose above her head, each one pointed at one of us. "Sky, what's wrong?" Jenny asked. "We are your friends!" Sky's fine! She just can't hear you! As the swords were released, I had to deflect them. "Leafy Hurricane!!!" I screamed out, and ten vines per sword were unleashed. Hibiki had a dark look over his face. "You don't think that this is a true point in her power, do you?" "What are you talking about?" Eve asked. "Everyone has a core to their power. When they go all out, that core usually shows in facial expression, demeanor, or speech patterns. This seems to show all three." "But it's not what you thi-" "Should we kill her?" Ren asked. "No, DON-" I was interrupted again by Hibiki. "No, but we should put her out of commission." "But it's not he-" "Kaori." Jenny turned to face me. "I know Sky was your best friend, but can't you see the integrity of the situation?" It's hopeless, they aren't going to listen to me.
What happened next was brutal. Eve and Ren knocked Sky unconscious, telling their version of the story to Master Bob. After some not very careful consideration, they kicked Sky out of the guild. This left Sky horrified, trying to explain what happened. Even when I defended her, it was useless. They didn't care. They just wanted her out of their sight. As she left, her demeanor really did change, from one who was appreciated to one who is depressed. It's all my fault.
-Esmeralda's POV-
"As if running errands wasn't annoying enough, why did Miranda have to go and eat all the food in the house?" A year went by pretty fast, and that's amazing compared to how slow the orphanage is. I never forgot Miki and everyone at home, however. They will always hold a place in my heart. As I was walking, someone brushed past me pretty roughly. "Hey, where do you think your- huh?" It was a platinum blonde, and she seemed really down in the dark. "Hey, are you alright? What's wrong?" I asked, going over to her. "Nothing." She responded flatly. "I'm sorry I bumped into you." She tried to leave, but I grabbed onto her again. "If you ever want to talk to someone about it, you could always join a guild!" She seemed even more upset by the time I finished that sentence. "No. I'm never joining a guild again." Oh. I see her story loud and clear. "Then why don't you join Fairy Tail instead?" I grabbed her hand to prevent her from running. She looked at me with her light blue eyes. "I'm sorry. I can't. I'll just pull them down." She is not putting out my flame like that "But I'm just like you! I have had pain just like that, and Fairy Tail healed it! We all listen to each other and look out for one another. I'm Esmeralda Yin, and you are....?" The blonde looked intrigued. "The name's Sky. I'll give your guild a try." She gave me a smirk, which I gladly returned.
This girl.... I can tell she's special. I didn't know how until it opened up right before my eyes.
