Shocking Conclusions
"Diamondhe- Wait... Shock Rock?!" The alien he had transformed into had a mainly humanoid body that was largely comprised of blue energy. The alien had four retractable energy spikes protruding from both of his shoulders. His arms were rather large and were so long that they were resting above his feet in resting position.
His head, arms, chest, shoulders and legs were rock-like. His eyes were a bright neon glowing green and a strange moss-like substance could be seen on his head and shoulders.
Gwen raised an eyebrow in confusion and in a snarky tone she said "What? The watch didn't give you the alien you wanted?"
Before Ben could form a retort, he was suddenly punched by the creature. "T'NOD UOY GNIKCUF ERONGI EM!" It roared almost indignantly as Ben slammed into one of the pillars holding up the room.
"BEN!!!!!" Wendy cried out in shock as Gwen's eyes widened in surprise, "I didn't see it move..." she muttered while Carla could only stare in shocked surprise.
A few moments later, Ben let out a pained groaned as he sat up from the wrecked remains of the pillar and rubbed the back of his head with a look of annoyance. "So that's how you want to play?" He growled as he rose to his feet and slowly cracked his knuckles.
Without another word, Ben pulled his right fist back and charged towards the creature with a mighty cry. As he got closer to the creature, he felt a strange sensation begin to build up in his fist and following his instincts, he flung his fist forwards and a blue beam of pure energy burst out of it.
Every watched as the energy beam smashed into the creatures face and launching it high into the air with minimal effort before falling back to the ground with a loud thud.
"Woah..." Ben stared in shock at the scene before looking down at his hands and blinked slowly. "This guy is really powerful." He muttered as he felt the same strange sensation build up in his hands. A cheeky smile began to form on his face as he wondered what else the new alien could do as he watched the newly angered creature crawl back to its feet while glaring at him.
"Seems like I've got a good test dummy to practice with..."
"Oh great..." Gwen muttered exasperatedly before sighing loudly cause Wendy and Carla to look at her in confusion.
"What's the matter?" Carla asked while Wendy watched Ben with a concerned expression.
"Oh nothing... Just Ben being an idiot like usual." Wendy looked at Gwen in surprise as her eye twitched in annoyance, something that Gwen immediately took notice off but made no comment on and instead chose to continue watching Ben's fight.
Suddenly, the creature knocked her cousin into a pillar causing it to crumble to pieces and as that happened, she noticed that the monster seemingly began to crumble ever so slightly, causing her eyes to widen in realisation. Doing a quick scan of the room, she counted that there were six pillars in total and threw of which had already been destroyed.
With a quick glance to her left, Gwen noticed that Carla had evidently came to the same conclusion as she did and with a silent nod of understand the pair set out to work. "Wendy, do you have any ranged attack spells?"
"Only one, why do you ask?"
A smile formed on Gwen's face as she pointed towards one of the three remaining pillars in the room, "Think it's strong enough to destroy that?"
The question had obviously confused Wendy at first but she nodded her head in confirmation as she turned to face the pillar before inhaling deeply and making strange but also familiar movement with her arms.
"Sky Dragon... Roar!!!!"
A violent cyclone of air blasted from Wendy's mouth, surprising Gwen, and smashed into the pillar destroying it instantly just as Ben threw the monster into the fifth pillar.
"Tahw era gniod??!?" The creature roared as it realised that there was only one pillar left remaining and even more of it body began to crumble away.
"Oh you don't like that do you?" Ben questioned as he glanced at the final pillar. "Looks like I'll be ending this here." With a little concentration, he shaped some energy into a massive broadsword and began charging towards the creature, intending to knocking it into the final pillar before he changed back.
"GRRRRAHHH!!!!" Ben swung the energy sword with all his might into the creature cleaving it's arm off in the process as a beam of energy shot out from the blade and destroyed the final pillar.
"Oooonnnnnnn!!!!!" The creature roared in despair as it slowly began to crumble into nothing infront of the slightly unnerved group.
Suddenly a flash of bright red light blinded everyone and Ben changed back into his regular self with a massive smile on his face as he turned to the rest of his group. "And that's a job well done."
"Great job Ben!" Wendy cheered happily causing the boy to blush in embarrassment, "Oh it was nothing." He muttered as he rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment before realising something.
"But I shouldn't get all the credit. If Gwen and Carla hadn't realised that the pillars were what kept the Golem together, we wouldn't even be talking here." Wendy chuckled a bit as he said this. "I suppose your right..." she muttered, light blush dusted her face due to how close he stood next to her.
"I hate to break up this tender moment but don't we have a contract to complete?" Gwen asked, as she suddenly appeared between the pair and startling them.
"Yes, I agree!" Carla added while nodding her head. "It would be best you we finish this quest quickly so we can all head home!"
Both Ben and Wendy visible deflated at the exceeds words, a sense of dread settled in their stomachs as the they glanced at each other in horror, realising that this might be the only time they'll ever actually see it other again.
...
This dread continued to plague them for the rest of the way back while their partners watched them with worry.
"I guess we'll... see eachother around?" Wendy prompted as soon as the group claimed their reward.
"Huh? Yeah, I hope so..." Ben muttered quietly with a sad smile as he and his cousin stepped onto the train leading to Fiore.
"Good luck." He said before he was suddenly pulled into a deep hug by Wendy causing him to blush a deep red.
"I will." She muttered into his ear causing him to turn an even deeper red before Carla began to drag her off into the distance.
"You have a crush on her, don't you?" Gwen whispered into his ear, startling him. "Wah? No I don't!" He tried to argue but it seemed as though she was having none of it and simply teased him on the train ride back to Fiore.

Oh so I had a bit of a brain crash while writing this so it took a bit longer to write then I'd originally expected because I did plan to start writing and release this on the day the first episode of Fairy Tail: the 100 year quest released but that didn't happen obviously. Now then I'm updating Highschool DXD: Child of Summer after this and I'll be adding the Bio for Vali in the Fairy Tail x Highschool DXD crossover I have planned.
Enjoy!
