After two weeks

A big field which comes in between the towns Tulasipatnam and Rayanakonda was fully decorated with flowers and other decorative things, for the marriage of Atharv and Mitakshi.

Mitakshi was sitting in the bride's tent and getting ready with a lot of thoughts in her mind "How will I marry a person without knowing him?, I don't understand this." she was lost in her thought and remembered the day she got to know about the marriage, she refused the proposal saying "I don't know him, appa."

"Even your appa and amma didn't know each other before marriage, they are happily married now." Rajamatha said.

"It's my life, how will I marry a stranger, without seeing and talking to him, how did you guys can take the biggest decision of my life without informing me." Mitakshi said.

"What do you mean.?" Rajamatha raised her eyebrows.

"We always want your happiness, Mita, we will never take a decision that is against your happiness." Surya said.

"I trust you appa, but as far as I know, without knowing him fully, how can I marry him.? atleast we need to talk with each other to decide whether we are compatible or not." Mitakshi put her point.

"What rubbish, you are talking.? Who is teaching you all this shit? , there is no such thing in our culture, be silent and get married to him." Rajamatha gave an angry look.

Mitakshi opened her mouth to say, but her mother Meena dragged her away from there and took her to the room "Ma, what are you doing.?"

"What were you doing there.?, is this what I taught you.?" Meena said.

"Ma, but without knowing him, how will marry him?, I heard it from somewhere that love is necessary in marriage." Mitakshi said.

"From where are you learning things, love is not compulsory in marriage, but being friends with your partner is important, friendship is the strong reason for a successful marriage.?" Meena smiled, Mitakshi looked at her mom's face confusingly, Meena just laughed and said "What do you think is the reason for the successful marriage of me and your appa, it's friendship not love."

"Yeah, we know whom appa loves, she is the reason for the downfall of our kingdom and now I need to get married to a stranger to make this kingdom grow." Mitakshi murmured herself.

"Did you say something.?" Meena asked, Mitakshi nodded her head negatively, Meena caressed Mita's cheeks "I know your thinking level is high and not belongs to us, but this kingdom's future is dependent on you, please think about the people of the kingdom, before making a decision." Meena started walking.

"I don't have a choice, I have to say yes, but we have to love our partner to have kids, right.?" Mita asked.

Meena turned "Even animals give birth, they do have multiple partners, I don't think so love is necessary." Meena went from there, leaving Mita confused.

Present day, Mitakshi is still confused that love is necessary for marriage or not, but she agreed to this marriage because it helps the kingdom.

Her mother took her to the mandap, she sat beside Atharv, Atharv tied the knot to Mitakshi, and numerous of people saw the wedding and erupted in joy seeing the queen of Rayanakonda

After few hours

After marriage, Mitakshi came to Rayanakonda with Atharv, even though they came in the same bullock cart, they didn't even see each other properly, only saw few glances.

Atharv went to his room and saw Mitakshi looking outside the window, her back was facing him, and he saw her long hair, Atharv coughed to gain her attention, she turned, Atharv observed her from head to toe, she changed into a comfortable dress which is half-saree, a medium size bindi on her forehead, a round nose-pin on her left nose, two big earrings to her both ears, she was looking beautiful.

"Your majesty, do you want to tell me anything.?" Mitakshi asked.

"Huh, yeah there is a separate queen's chamber, you can shift your things to there if you want." Atharv said.

"Hmm.." Mitakshi observed Atharv from head to toe, he was looking handsome in her eyes in that red sherwani.

"And I ....." Atharv was about to say but they heard a knock on the door of the room, "Rajamatha, is coming here, she needs to talk with you both." A maid said and went from there, Yashoda came to their room.

"Amma, is everything ok.? You came here this late." Atharv asked.

"I wanted to talk with you both." Yashoda sat on the chair in front of the bed "You both also sit." Yashoda said Atharv and Mitakshi sat on the bed.

Yashoda took Mitakshi's hands into her hands "I know you are scared, girl's life is like this, but don't worry, everyone here loves you, nobody troubles you, be happy, ok." Yashoda said, Mitakshi nodded her head, Yashoda continued "If he troubles, tell me, I will squeeze his ears." Yashoda squeezes Atharv's ears.

"Ahh amma, it hurts." Atharv laughed, Yashoda also laughed, and Mitakshi smiled slightly looking at them.

"Hmm, I know you both are young, you don't know how marriage works and all, but listen to me carefully, there are three main things to follow for happy married life, first one is communication, communication is the key to the relationship, you both have to talk it sort it out, whatever you both want to talk, the second thing is trust, you both have to trust each other, trust is must, third is respect, you both have to respect each others decision, so this is all just in a relationship to be happy, follow them and be happy always, ok." Yashoda asked, and both nodded their heads.

"Good, you both take your own time to settle in this marriage and to understand each other, nobody will force you to have a child." Yashoda teased and went from there.

Atharv and Mitakshi looked at each other's faces, Atharv looked away and thought "I think it's time to tell her everything."

"Hmm, I wanted to tell you something." Atharv looked at Mitakshi "I know this marriage happened suddenly and all, but I need to tell you that, there was a girl in my life a few years, I loved her a lot, but..." Atharv wiped his tears.

"Is everything ok, your majesty." Mitakshi asked.

"You can call me by my name."Atharv continued "Nothing happened, she just went away from my life, that's it, I still have feelings for her, I...I just can't love anyone like her." Atharv said.

"Oh.." Mitakshi asked, in her mind she had a lot of questions, but she was quietly listening to everything.

"You don't need to feel bad, you will get every respect as a wife you need to get from your husband, you will get everything, but I just can't love anyone else, I'm clarifying this because I didn't want to hide anything from you, I wanted to tell you everything, because I want you to understand, as we need to travel a long journey in life, and I promise you that I marry anyone else, you will be my only wife and I will be a very good friend to you lifelong." Atharv smiled.

"I'm happy that you are telling everything, we need to be honest with each other..." Mitakshi was saying but the army chief came to the room running, he was breathing heavily.

"Everything ok.?" Atharv asked.

"No, your majesty, from our secret informer we got a message that Bhairav's army is coming towards our kingdom, they are just a few kilometre's away from us." The army chief said.

"What.?" Atharv got up "Tell our army to get ready we are leaving now." Atharv said.

"I will inform the army we need to leave soon." Army chief said.

"I will come in a minute, you guys get ready." Atharv said the army chief went from there.

Atharv looked at Mitakshi "I need to go, our kingdom is in danger." Atharv took his sword and shield "I told you everything, as I hope you understand me." Atharv looked at Mitakshi, Mitakshi smiled at him and they heard an alarm sound, Atharv ran towards the door.

Mitakshi was confused about what to say "Huh.....All the best." Mitakshi said.

"Thank you." Atharv smiled and went from there.

Mitakshi sat on the bed "Is love not necessary in marriage.?" She thought......
