All the girls screamed as Manik walked onto the stage in Kolkata. Manik Malhotra is the lead singer of popular band Fab 5 which he formed along with his friends. He was known to be a bully in college, but those days are long gone. Today, Manik Malhotra is one of India's most eligible bachelors. Some girls love his voice while some others love how handsome he looks. Fab 5 were doing an all India year end holiday tour, and their next destination was Bangalore on the 24th.

Nandini Murthy, a sweet innocent Tamil girl living in Dubai was very excited that she was going to her first cousin Navya's wedding on Christmas eve in Bangalore. She packed three beautiful saris for the Nichyadartham (engagement), thirumangalyam (wedding) and the reception. Nandini had taken a few days off from work to compensate the days she didn't have paid winter holidays, to spend some time with the bride before her wedding. So, she was leaving Dubai today and was planing on returning on the 2nd of January.

Dubai International Airport
Nandini: Bye Appa and Amma.
Amma: Bye Nandu. We would have loved to come, but Rishu is in 12th, so tell Radhika Periyamma (Mother's elder sister)
Nandini: Amma, she will understand.
Amma: Nandu, take care.
Nandini: Bye Amma. Love you.
Nandini was sitting in the airport and chatting with a school friend on fb.
Nikita: Hi Nandu! Whats up?
Nandini: Niki! I am coming to India today! We should meet up. Its my cousins wedding on the 24th in Bangalore.
Nikita: OMG! 24th in Bangalore! I will be there because The Manik Malhotra will be there! He is so good and soooo hot! The way he speaks, his eyes, his hair, his fingers! I wish he was my bf yaar!
Nandini: you and your new found crush on this Manik dude! How do you know he is a good guy?
Nikita: Bas I just know. Don't you dare say a word against him.
Nandini: Ok baba! I wont bye, they have started boarding the flight!
In the flight, Nandini opened the inflight magazine, and alas, there he was Nikita's imaginary bf, Manik Malhotra. Nandini was never interested in rock music, so she didn't follow the rock scene in India. So, this was the very first time she saw Manik, his messy hair, his well toned body, his blazers and his intense piercing eyes. Her interest in his life increased after chatting with Nikita, so she read the article in the magazine. Like any other celeb gossip, this one was about his rumoured long term relationship with his band member Alia. He surely is good looking, but these celebs are weird! She thought as she dosed of to sleep. In 4 hours the flight landed in Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore and Nandini was greeted by her family at the airport.
Ammamma (Maternal grandmother): Kanna! How are you?
Nandini: Ammamma! Loveee you!
Nandini said hugging her grandmother.
Nandini: Where is Navya?
Ammamma: Oh she couldn't stop talking to Aryaman on the phone, she we just left her at home!
Nandini: Oh so now he has become more important than me!
They all left in the car and reached their ancestral house in Indra Nagar, Bangalore. The house was decorated with marigolds and jasmine flowers. Nandini spotted Navya.
Nandini: I am going back today. I came thinking you will want see me, but alas I was wrong.
Navya: Sorry di, we were having an important conversation.
Nandini: Who was?
Navya: me and him.
Nandini: you and whom?
Navya blushed and spoke.
Navya: Aryaman.
Nandini: You both spent 3 years in college in a relationship god knows doing what and now you are behaving like a shy bride who doest say her husband's name.
Navya: I don't know, I guess its the mood in this place.
I kid came to them and offered a ladoo to both of them. Nandini ate some and Navya's phone rang again.
Navya: I will be back.
Nandini: See you never!
Later that day, Navya invited her friends over for her Mehendi ceremony in their house. Nandini asked if she could invite Nikita too. Navya agreed wholeheartedly as Navya and Nikita knew each other before.
Nikita: Nanduuuuu!
She hugged Nandini tightly.
Nandini: It has been so long since we met.
Nikita: Ya, you hardly come to India these days.
Nandini: Work 😔
Nikita turned to Navya who was getting her bridal mehendi done.
Nikita: You look stunning! Thanks for inviting me for the wedding and now for the mehendi.
Navya: Nandu's friends are always welcome in our house!
Nikita: Nandu, you know what... Fab 5...
Nandini: Oh that Manik dude's band...
Nikita: You said you didn't know...
Nandini: Saw him on a magazine
Nikita: Anyway, his concert is on the 24th right after Navya's wedding... What a coincidence and great timing. You have to come with me. I managed to buy another ticket in black.
Nandini: Lets see.

Fab 5 arrived in Bangalore and were transported to the Viva Hotel, Bangalore.
Each of them were housed in individual suit rooms on the 4th floor just above the banquet hall.
Manik: lets rest today now. We can meet later today to practice.
At around 4, they met at the event location and had a rehearsal.
At around 6:30PM, Manik decided to go to the gym after returning to the hotel.

Nandini and the entire wedding entourage headed to the Viva hotel to partake in Navya's wedding reception. Nandini was wearing a deep blue sari with gold border. She wore a beautiful antique gold chain with precious metals and gold bangles paired with blue glass bangles and her grandmother's earrings. She also wore her favourite watch, the one she got as a graduation gift from her parents. 
They entered the hotel lobby and it was stunning.
Nandini: Nikita, I wonder why we never came here before.
Nikita: It has just been taken over by a new management and they are doing a great job with the place. I hear a lot of high profile guests stay with them.
Nandini: I guess so. Aryaman's dad is a prominent businessman here, so I guess that makes him high profile enough to host a reception here.

It was around 6:15PM when Nandini noticed that her earring was missing. She excused herself from her family members and decided to trace her steps. She went down from the banquet hall to the lobby in search of her grandmother's earring. Not finding it in the lobby, she accepted defeat and went back to the elevator.
It was the 5th floor right... Yess, I remember... She thought as she pressed the button to the 5th  floor. She went up, then realized that the banquet hall was in the 3rd floor. She pressed 3, but the elevator stopped at 4 and in walked a young, dashingly handsome, familiar yet unknown, tall sweaty man in gym clothes. He looks like Manik! Could it be Nikita's crush Manik? No, why would he happen to be here now, She thought.
Manik saw an overly dressed short girl looking at him puzzled.
Manik: Yes, its me!
He adjusted his hair and stood next to Nandini.
Manik: You can take a picture if you want.
Nandini: What the hell! I don't even know you, why would I want a picture of you. Creep.
Manik: You don't know me?
Nandini: No.

Suddenly, the elevator shook and stopped before reaching the 3rd floor.
