The story of fire arrows
Elena: Okay, I'm convinced!
She looked terrified, her face completely destroyed by her false bad self-confidence as she held the book shaky.
Elena: We're going to the librarian you told me about before. She'll know a lot more.
Erica: I also told you before that she doesn't want to talk to us.
Elena: I'm going to make her want... We've got to get out of here.
The cops came out and started looking for me intensely.
Elena: Now!
We ran away from them without being noticed. Elena didn't seem as hard as Nadia to catch up with me. I felt a little dizzy and a feeling of tax. Like my head was completely weightless. The lack of food, although it didn't affect me psychologically, was slowly starting to pay for my body.
I've endured much longer without food. I remind myself as we arrive at the library, just in time. Mrs. Mary would lock up and leave after a long day to go home.
Erica: Mrs. Mary!
I'm exclaiming coldly. She raises her heavy, seemingly bag against us with twisted eyes.
Mary: What do you want from me now, go now!
Elena shows her the book.
Elena: A girl is in danger if you don't help us, she'll probably be dead by the end of the week.
My blood froze, understanding that this statement was true.
Elena: Are you willing to live with this misconduct?
Mrs. Mary lowers her purse. Her clenched lips spread loosely in two fine lines parallel to each other. She unlocks and coldly makes us sit on the couches.
Mary: Let's get this straight right now. I'll tell you what I know, I don't want anything else to do with these books, they're evil.
She sits across from us and begins to recount the facts.
Mary: Well, I was still young when this incident took place. I lived it at every stage. Ever since I was a little girl, I've been crazy about books, so having a job like this was kind of like a dream come true for me.
My work requires knowledge of the latest publications as well as the classification of books by genre. The books of fire arrows suddenly appeared in bookstores, but it didn't take long for them to quickly become famous and their sales to blow up.
I remember, maybe all four of the seven clients who would visit us every day would buy the books of fire arrows. We ranked them in the category of philosophy and educational publications.
It was certainly a phenomenon that intrigued the Panhellenic area of reading as the publication of a book without the involvement of some publishing houses is a rare event even today. I don't know how I didn't read those scum myself. Maybe a hunch was what stopped me.
But I didn't, and I managed to get away with it. The police, although only three weeks after their release, detected that there was a problem with these books and withdrew them. Unfortunately, that was already too late.
The problem was widened, with quite a few people having been driven to absolute madness. There were also some reports of deaths and countless other continuous and repetitive seizures, mania, anger, anxiety... Our country was no longer civilized.
It was a jungle of beasts looking to impose force and destroy each other. The clinics were full and the experts weren't enough. In those days I was deeply upset. I couldn't believe some people use the books, through the propagation of light and art, for something so dark and sick.
When the writers were arrested, the fact was questioned about its authenticity. They made sure to cover the matter as well as forget it. But I never forgot. It had caused such pain in our lives and they used such immoral and unholy means for it. They used books, a source of knowledge! I'm still haunted by the thought that all the followers of the sect have not been arrested or revealed.
