No more lies

He got out of bed with a thud, looked half asleep.

Father: And you thought I wouldn't find out, you had the nerve to lie to me.

Erica: For what?

I've been chanting.

Father: For the cops, you gave up your father to save yourself. Miserable!

He's hitting his feet on the floor.

Erica: I didn't lie to you, I didn't invite them.

I was afraid, I had Nadia stand further back, use me as a shield if necessary to get away with it.

Father: I don't believe you, man!

He threw the remote at me, deconstructed in two after falling to the floor after my manoeuvre.

Father: It's your fault, I hate you!

He throws the lamp at me, it breaks, splinters around our legs. He'd take what he could find in front of him and throws it at us. I protected my best friend with my body, some of them hit me, those spots burned, boiled, I didn't feel pain, my anger was stronger.

Erica: It wasn't my fault! You were the one who destroyed our family, and I'm not going to let you do it to Nadia!

I screamed, desperate and immediately afterwards repented. It was blowing and blowing like a furious bull on a battlefield. The color of the red cloth that I made up was reflected on his face. He was red. My breath was in harmony with the up and down of my chest, fast, short.

Father: What dare you accuse me of?

Erica: You know very well. You come in and steal in their apartment.

He's tossing something heavier than the rest of me again, I turned my head in a flash, and instead of the face, he hit me right above my ear, on the side.

Father: I didn't do it.

Erica: Don't deny it, we know it's you, we have proof.

I thought that's how I'd fool him. He laughed, laughed furiously, nervously.

Father: You're crazy! Do you think I'm going to stop admitting something in your face? Um, huh? I'm asking again, so you think I'm going to get in the way? Get out of here now, when I see you in front of me, I swear I'll kill you!

Cautiously and with my girl - friend glued to my back, I walked backwards without wanting to distract myself from him. We went out, and started running back to her house, we were gasping as with great strides we tried to cover the distance quickly, we acted like predators who had been taken away from prey, we were running because that was our goal.

The way nature gave us to survive. We almost slumped on her bed, luckily once again we were alone. Darkness everywhere. I almost couldn't tell us apart.

Nadia: That's it..

Not finding the words to characterize it and at the same time not to offend me left her phrase unfinished.

Nadia: Do you think he's telling the truth?

Erica: Sure, didn't you hear him?

Our words are sharp, trembling, with intensity within them from the sudden run. She's staring at me.

Nadia: I don't know if I should trust him.

Erica: No, he's violent. But at the same time terribly violent and with his words. He wouldn't miss a chance to insult us and tell us to our face if he had. You saw him, he started throwing things at us without mercy. He's cheeky and shameless.

Nadia: Yes..

It seemed temporarily as if he regretted what she had said, but as soon as she saw my mild reaction, relaxed again

.Nadia: So we're back to square one, no one has any idea who the burglars are.

She was right. I felt like all our efforts had been annihilated. Of course, I knew that wasn't true since we had ruled out a lot of suspects. Of course, again our list was done, we had no idea who else could be responsible. I don't really know...

Nadia: I'm going to light some candles, not sit like this.

After some time she got up after regaining her strength. I was waiting pinned to the bed. I had just been confronted with my worst fear, and I even stood up to it. I talked to him, I said how I feel. I expressed my truth. Small bundles of fire appeared around me as Nadia lit the candles.

She sat next to me again and I stood up to get to the same level as her. She's smiling at me.

Nadia: At least my mother is visibly better.

Erica: Yes, something's going well...

Nadia: Hey, not just something. Aren't your races next week?

She exclaims playfully.

Erica: Yes... I almost forgot.

Nadia: Here's another good one! You're going to win, I'm sure you and Orpheus!

Erica: Yes.. Let's say.

Nadia: I don't want any defeatism. I said you're going to succeed, and that's how it's going to be.

I laughed. She was so determined to control something that practically didn't depend on her. I was hoping at least she was right about it.

Nadia: It's almost 9:30.. Do you want to go to sleep?

I'm ignoring the time information. I was tense enough to let go.

Erica: A little later..

The rest were back. We let the space around us change while we remained still. Fixed in this ever-changing place called life. Things were quick on their own, they catch up with us no matter how good you are on the run.

So we were left to be lured, it made no sense anymore to try to overcome them after we had seen that this was not working.

Nadia: I'm going to talk, I'm going to talk to my father.

I turned sharply towards her. Her voice had completely destroyed my peace and quiet.

Erica: Mmm?

I was surprised. What did she mean by that?

Nadia: I'll tell him I know everything. For the cult, for the books.

Erica: Are you sure about this? You said you were trying to collect enough evidence first.

Nadia: We tried Erica. We've tried hard enough. No more lies, it's time for everything to be cleared up.
