Chapter two - Fire and Lightning
Storm's POV:
Once I got off Jack I giggled quietly. "Oops! Sorry Jack! I didn't mean to know you over like that!" Jack shrugged and chuckled as he sat back up and poked the flames. "It's ok Storm." He smiled and I smiled back. "Hey Storm, has a crazy scientist ever chased you?" I nodded. "Yeah. I've always wondered why though." He nodded. "I see... So your one of them too..." I tilted my head to the left. "What do you mean by that Jack?" He looked at me seriously. I mean that your an elemental as well." Still confused I nodded slowly. "Are you an elemental Jack?" He nodded. "Yeah, see." He gestured to his hand. I looked at it. At first it did nothing, but after a moment it started to grow really warm. Then, it caught on fire. I gasped and smiled. "Coooooooooool!" He smiled and nodded. "Thanks. Now let's see what you can do." I nodded and focused on my hand, closing my eyes. I felt a spark and I opened my eyes again and looked at my hand to see yellow, blue, and purple zaps of light bouncing off my fingers and palm. My eyes widened and I giggled. "So cool!" I whispered. I looked at Jack to see his eyes focused on the lightning in my hand. "Woah! I've never heard of a lightning elemental!" I giggled and made the lightning go away. Jack looked up at me and smiled warmly. "That's so cool Storm!" I nodded and smiled back. I lied back down on the ground and smiled. "Whatcha doing Storm?" He asked, lying down beside me. I pointed up at the sky. "Looking at the clouds." He nodded. "Sounds like fun. Can I join?" I nodded. "Sure."
After a couple minuets of watching the clouds I stood up and grabbed a stick that was pointed at the end. Jack sat up and looked at me confusedly. "What are you doing Storm?" I looked back at Jack. "Going to hunt. We need to eat you know Jack." He nodded and stood up. He put the fire out and grabbed another pointy stick. "Let's go then!" I nodded and we started walking soundlessly threw the forest looking for some food. After a while two rabbits crossed our lathes and we threw out sticks at them. They hit their target. We picked our sticks back up and started walking and looking for a nice place to make camp.
*time skip cuz I'm lazy write now. (Get the joke? No? Ok. I'll go now.)*
Once Jack set up a fire we started cooking our meal. "I'll take first shift. Ok Jack?" He shook his head. "No! I'll take first shift." I sighed and shook my head. "You watched me all last night and haven't slept since who knows when. I'm. Taking. First. Watch." Jack sighed and nodded. I smiled. "Good." I turned the rabbit mean over so it could continue to cook. Jack shook his head and muttered some un heard words. I chuckled. "Food's done Jack." He nodded and took his food off the fire before eating. I did the same. "Hey Storm, after dinner would you like to train? I could teach you how to use your power." I nodded and smiled before taking another bite. "Swounds good." I told him threw a mouthful of rabbit. He chuckled. "Ok." He finished off his rabbit and threw the bones into the fire. I did the same as we stood up and put the fire out. We walked towards a clearing in the woods. "Ok Storm. Now we start... What triggers your element." I shrugged. Jack smiled before his face became really mad. "STORM! I HATE YOU!" I gasped and felt tears come to my eyes. I felt power rush into my veins as I clenched my fists. I ran at Jack with my fist pulled back. His eyes widened in fear as I got closer. I looked at my fist and noticed it was covered in lightning. I quickly stopped my punch and made the lightning go out. "I really thought you were going to kill me there Stormy." He chuckled and I frowned. "Stormy?" He shrugged. "Whatever Jack. But what was that about? I thought we were friends..." Jack smiled warmly. "Of course we are still friends! I just wanted to see if anger affected it. ... It did." I nodded and giggled. "It sure does." Jack nodded. "I think that's enough training for now Storm. Let's set up camp here." I nodded and started to set up an area for the fire and for sleeping. Jack helped. We worked in silence until I saw a flash of light. By now it has gotten dark so it was very noticeable. I glanced at Jack and he nodded. We walked quietly towards the flash of light. Jack's hand was on fire and my hand had lightning bouncing from place to place. We peeked threw the bushes to see a girl with gold hair and yellow eyes glaring at a boy with brown hair and green eyes. The boy had his hands up protectively and the girl had light in her palm, much like how Jack had fire in his hand. I looked at him and he looked upset. I put my had on his shoulder and he relaxed. He glanced at me and I gave him a warm smile. He nodded slightly and we looked back at the two kids arguing. The boy chuckled and the girl rolled her eyes as she put the light out. Me and Jack did the same before standing up. The two looked at us surprisedly. "OH! Hi! When did you get there?" The girl asked. I shrugged and Jack analyzed the two. "My name is Aurora. And this is my friend Ethan. What's your names?" The girl asked. I smiled. "My name is Storm. And this is Jack." They nodded. "We saw a flash of light and we came to investigate." Jack explained coolly. They nodded. "Oh! That was my element, you see... I'm a light elemental. Ethan here is a plants elemental." Ethan nodded. I glanced at Jack to see him looking at me. I smiled and he nodded. "I'm a fire elemental and Storm is a lightning elemental." The two nodded. "We've set up camp over here." I explained as I led them to our camp. They followed and Jack stayed closer to me then to the other two. I chuckled a bit before making Jack lie down and sleep. The two looked weirdly at us and I smiled. "I'm making sure he sleeps. I told him I'm taking first shift, he watched me all night last night with no break. He needs his rest." They nodded and lied down as well. But on the opposite side of the fire then Jack. I shrugged it off and sat by the fire. Close to Jack. If anything happends, I'll wake you. If not, your staying asleep no matter what.
