Chapter three - Nighmares
Storm's POV:
Once the sun rose the next day I started tending to the fire. I also started looking for food for everyone. After a couple minuets I found a couple chickens and berries. I put the chickens over the fire to cook and put the berries on a piece of wood I found earlier while looking for food. Then, I waited. After a couple more minuets of waiting for the chickens yo be done I started waking up everyone else. I walked over to Aurora and shook her gently. She groaned and rolled over. I shook her again. She blinked before sitting up sleepily and yawning. I then walked over to Ethan and woke him up the same way. But he jumped up in a fighting stance, eyes wide and darting around. I giggled quietly as he sat back down and yawned. After that, I walked over to Jack and shook him gently. His eyes opened and he blinked a couple times before sitting up. I walked back to the fire and handed everyone a chicken and some berries. They started eating and I started tending to the fire. Jack looked over at me worriedly and I gave him a warm smile. He shrugged it off and continued eating. I sighed and put a couple more sticks into the fire. I hope we can become friends with Aurora and Ethan. They seem like nice people. I turned back around to face everyone. I saw Aurora and Ethan laughing and eating together. On the other side was Jack. He was eating quietly and lost in thought. I chuckled at how different everyone was. Jack looked over towards me and walked quietly over. "Hey Jack. What's up?" He shrugged. "Nothing much. I noticed you only cooked three chickens." I nodded. "Only found three." He sighed. "I also noticed you never woke me up for my shift." I nodded. "Yup. You needed your sleep." He sighed again. "Stormy, you need your sleep." I shook my head. "Nah. I'm fine. Really Jack." Jack shook his head and made me lie down. I struggled to get back up but he wouldn't let me. Ethan and Aurora looked over at him with confused looks. "She needs to sleep." Jack explained. They nodded and continued doing what they were doing earlier. He smirked at me. "See? Even they think you need to sleep." I sighed. "Fine." I mumbled. Jack chuckled and let go of me. I stayed lying on my side, looking at the fire. I felt Jack watch me and I smiled a little. Is it better when your friends watch you? Or is it better when your on your own? Depending on only yourself, not having to worry about others in danger, and not knowing if you will be kidnapped in your sleep.... Or, having others having your back, worrying if your friends are ok, and knowing that you will be safe in your sleep... I think the first choice. Having friends is better then being on your own. And with that thought on my mind, I fell into a restless sleep.
~~Dream~~
I looked around to see a girl that looked exactly like me. She had medium silver hair, white eyes, and she was wearing a black t shirt, knee high blue shorts and black running shoes. Beside her was a man with spiky yellow hair and gold eyes. He was wearing a blue t shirt with a purple lightning bolt on it, dark blue jeans and black running shoes. Around his neck was a yellow, blue and purple lightning bolt. He looked at the girl and smiled. I walked closer to see the girl smiling back. His mouth was moving, but no words came out. The girl nodded to the man and he smiled. He handed her a necklace just like his and she giggled. He chuckled and messed up her hair before walking off. Waving to the girl, who was now behind him. Waving back. I smiled and watched as the girl skipped away. I followed and saw that she was skipping towards the forest. I followed her into the forest until she stopped. I looked towards where she was looking. It was a campsite. But the campsite was covered in flames. The girl screamed and ran into the flames. Looking for people. Tears covered her face as she screamed again. I walked towards her to see Jack, Aurora, Ethan in the fire. Around them were four others. The girl ran up to them and tried shaking them. Hoping they would open their eyes and smile. They never did. The girl ran over to Jack and cried. As she cried, she screamed more and lightning went everywhere. She shook Jack more and cried even more. She started screaming his name, along with all the other kids names. I started crying and curled up into a little tiny ball. This would never happen.... My friends wouldn't leave me... They wouldn't die... I wouldn't let them die. I started rocking back and forth crying. It happened until I heard someone calling my name. "STORM!" I continued crying. "STORM! WAKE UP!"
I opened my eyes and shot off the ground. I saw Jack looking at me with worry all over his face. Same goes with Aurora and Ethan. Jack stood up and walked towards me. "Are you ok Storm?" He asked quietly. I nodded and forced a smile. "Yeah. Of course I am... Why wouldn't I be?" Jack raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure Storm?" I nodded. "Yeah. I'm sure." Jack sighed and walked over to a tree and sat down under it, his back leaning on the trunk. I sat down by Ethan and Aurora. Aurora hugged me and I hugged back. "Are you ok Storm? We were so worried!" I nodded and smiled. "Yeah. I'm fine." Ethan smiled. "Thank goodness. Everyone was so worried... Especially Jack." He mumbled the last part so I couldn't hear him. "What was that Ethan? I couldn't hear the last part." Ethan's eyes widened before he smiled. "Never mind Storm. Hey! That was good chicken this morning!" I giggled. "Thanks Ethan." He laughed nervously. Wonder what's wrong with him...
