Just another morning
Dawns POV
"May time to get up!" Leaf shout at a motionless figure lying under the blankets. She battered at the air in hopes to discourage their group leader from further annoyance.
"Can I try?" I asked with a devilish smile.
"Be my guest." She gestured to the bed before stepping aside. My hand rose. I felt the air around my skin move. It collected itself. It grew as it brushed past my skin, engulfing my palms and finger tips in the strong gust. Leaf covered her face, taking a step back. My hand slashed through the air. Within seconds May was lifted from her bed and pinned to the wall.
I'm up!" She squeaked. The wind stopped and she fell back onto her bed with a groan. I just pat her on the head before moving away.
"Sorry May, I tired to wake you before she came in." Leaf giggled. She helped the other up.
"Don't make us late on our first day!" I called to the two as walked out the door. "Impressions are important."
"Yeah I know." I stop at the door and peak through.
"Oh, then you might wanna fix that," I wave my hands at her face in gesture. Mays face turned red as she rushed to her vanity. Her hair was a tangled knot on top her head, sitting up proudly in disarray. Leaf grabbed my hand as May stopped her foot in upset, flames brushing angrily over the carpet as she shouted at me. Leaf and I screamed as we made our escape.
Mistys POV.
I saw Leaf and Dawn rushing down the stairs, giggling. I sighed.
"May's wake up call is later than usual." I rose my brow to the two. "Does she need me to cool her off again?"
"Nah, I think she's good." Dawn giggled before sitting down for breakfast. Leaf helped finish setting the table. "Wait till you see her new hairdo, though."
"Oh, Dawn really out-did herself this time." Leaf sat beside the other, the two hi-five-ing in joy. The two began piling up their plates as I joined them.
She could hear May stopping down the hall before seeing the angry expression weighing down her face. The ends of her mouth hung down in upset as she glared at the two opposite me.
"Bad hair day?" I asked as she sat down piling pancakes on her plate.
"Yeah yeah, real funny. Can you please just fix it already." Her eyes didn't stop their piercing glares as she munch on her food, and choked down some juice. I just laughed. The glare turned to me.
"Okay okay, I'm going." I moved towards my best-friend, hands out-stretched towards her hair. I felt my skin tingle before they were replaced by water. It felt almost muted at the water of my hands brushed over May's hair, swirling and seeping into the mess. "Dawn, how?" I asked. The tangles weren't letting up easily.
It took a moment before I was able to get them all undone. Soon the hair flowed with the water, falling down to her shoulders. My hands turned back to normal, and I smiled at May, whos just picked at her wet hair un-happily.
"Done." I say with a smile on my face.
"Thanks Misty." She said with a mouthful of food.
"You should dry it before it gets its clothes damp." Leaf pointed to the glistening locks that brushed against her uniform.
"I got this." Dawn smiled. Before May could complain, Dawn's hand lifted into the air as well as a softer brush of wind. May's hair gently breezed behind her until it dried and laid softly at her shoulders.
"I'm not saying thank you."
"You just did." Dawn smiled sweetly. May huffed.
"Your hair looks nice, May." Leaf said from where she was walking her dirty dishes to the sink. She dumped them in before her eyes caught on the pot plant on the windowsill. "But it's missing something."
She waved her hand over it. Slowly, green sprouted from the soil and grew, leafs fluttering out before red bloomed at the top. A single red rose.
She plucked it and walked over to May. She then grabbed two thick lengths of hair and pulled it to the centre of the back of her head and tied it up. She then placed the flower in her hair tie and stood back to examine it.
"Why does she get the salon blown out look." Dawn complained. The girls giggles as May turned her hands to fire.
"I can give you a new style, if you want?" The group laughed at Mays words. Dawn just politely declined.

Mays POV
"Hurry up guys!" Misty yelled from up front. She quickly put her sleeping Togepi in her back pack before charging through the school gates. .
"We're coming!" Dawn called back with Piplup on her head.
"Hurry Leafeon, we'll get left behind." Leaf said as her and her Pokémon partner ran past Dawn.
"Guys wait! We still have time!" I yelled running after my three best friends. Eevee was running beside me, a concerned expression on her little face. I sighed and picked up my pace.
The new uniforms we had to wear were stiff and itchy. I was cautious not to scuff my new shoes as my feet hit the pathway. We weaved through the school and front doors, navigating the hallways to find the principles office.
The principal was aware of our assignment. He was one of the ones funding the mission. The press was interested in spreading word of the schools dangers and he wasn't prepared for the back lash.
He handed off their time tables, offering another reminder to be discrete in our work before sending us on our way. We reassured him before break off to find our lockers.
"Guys, we don't have any instruments." Misty hissed a whisper as the group moved through the halls. Some students passed by, not giving the four any attention.
"Yay! We're going shopping!" Dawn squealed linking our arms as we walked. Suddenly we heard a group of girls squeal.
"What was that?" Leaf asked.
Four boys charged towards us. I was quick to hid behind Misty as the got closer. They paid us no mind, only looking behind them to the swarm of girls chasing after them.
Piplup squawked at the oncoming barge, only to have two yellow ears flick up from behind one of the boys hats. A Pikachu head popped up.
The boys ran straight past us. The only acknowledgement they received was from the Pikachu calling out to Piplup in what sounded like a greeting.
Togepi popped her head up from Misty's back pack where she slept, rubbing at her eyes. I shushed her back to sleep before the horde of screaming girls collided with them, knocking them all to the ground.
Leafs POV
"Open your eyes, what are you blind!?" Misty yelled before the boys made it around the corner.
"Sorry!" Was all they got. I moved to help Misty up.
Leafeon moved over to Eevee, who was huddled on the ground, paws over her eyes. Leafeon gave her head a reassuring lick. Eevee looked up. She called out.
"Where's May?" I asked. We then turned to a loud bang. May stumbled out of the janitors closet with a bucket on her head.
"May, are you ok?" Dawn asked as she gently lifted the bucket to reveal fiery eyes. She was mad.
"How pathetic." Some of the girls who had barged into them broke from their group to address theirs.
"What a loser." Another laughed.
"Leave her alone." Dawn's face crumpled in annoyance. The girl turned her glare to Dawn.
"You're new here so this is a warning," she bent down and picked up the rose that fell from May's hair. "Go near those boys and this will be you."
She crushed the rose beneath her fingers. The petals fell to the floor in a piled heap, and Eevees heckles raised with a growl.
They laughed at the small Pokémon's threat before they turned their laughter to May. They called her names like "mop" and "stiff". Frustrated tears formed in May's eyes.
"Hey back off!" Misty shouted as she pulled out a mallet. She girls screamed and ran in the direction they came. It was only a toy thing that she carries around, because Togepi thinks it's fun.
May fell to her feet and cried. Eeve walked up to her and rubbered her face on May's arm. She brushed at her tears.
"Sorry." We heard a mans voice. We all looked over as one of the boys approached May, holding out a new rose. He couched down and tucked it behind her ear. "They can be jerks."
"Says the ones who got us pushed over." Misty huffed. The boy stood up, joined by his friends.
"It's annoying being the most popular boys in school." He flicked out his hair. The four girls just rolled their eyes.
"I'm Gary." The other was interrupted by his tallest friend. He walked over and swung an arm around me with a smile. "But you can call me whenever." His finger tip bopped my nose. I shoved him off.
"That's Ash-" he said pointing to a raven haired boy standing next to Misty. His Pikachu had already left his shoulders, moving to make faces at Togepi as Piplup and Eevee cheered on. Leafeon paid the group no mind as she groomed her fur. An Umbreon joined her quietly, by didn't disrupt her grooming.
"That's Paul-" he pointed to the boy with onyx eyes and his arms crossed. Dawn rose a brow. He called her troublesome and she started to argue.
"And the smooth talker over they is Drew." He said pointing to the one helping May get to her feet. The four of us looked at each other then to the group of boys. I guess we found our assignments.
