Ever since I landed on Earth I've come to realize that I enjoy one thing the most of out every other things, and it's watching TV. Seeing people moving in a screen didn't make sense to me before because we don't have that on Di Hipsodat but I've come to realize it's not moving people inside an object. I love everything from movie to television series to news and talk shows.

Kai knows how I love watching it and taking me to the movies is one of the best things he can ever do for me. He even ask me to choose and just like that I pick a romance movie. We don't have that on Di Hipsodat. We have connections but here it's free, you can connect with anyone. On Di Hipsodat, you only connect once in your lifetime after the Knife Festival, you pick your mate and you're bound for eternity.

I want experience everything. I want to feel everything. Being on Earth is altering my thoughts and brain function. I haven't been here long but I can see myself evolving. I voiced out my worries to Kai, and he assures me it's normal even though mine comes quickly. He has been on Earth for thousands of years and he knows he doesn't belong among humans.

Making decisions for myself is something I never thought I needed to do but damn it feels good to be able to do things at my own pace.

After Kai drops me off at home, I busy myself with exploring the internet. Kai gives me access to everything and all I have to do is type in a word that I don't know the meaning but pops in my head. Search engines knows everything and it's awesome how much I can learn on the box.

Some minutes to seven, I peel myself off the three-seater that I've claimed as my own, to freshen and wait for Kai to arrive.

The sound of the doorbell pulls me out of my thought, I frown because I'm not expecting anyone but Kai, and he can easily teleport in here and take me. Zazie and Lee live here, so they don't need to announce their arrival. I leave my room and go to the door, I open it ready to suck the life out of whoever is out there that I don't recognize.

I yank the door open and surprised to see Kai standing in front with a bouquet. He isn't wearing what he wore to work this morning, he was all business-y in his suit but now he's wearing jeans and shirt.

"Why are you here?" I question.

He furrows his eyebrows. "I...live...here?"

I leave the door ajar and fold my arms across my chest. "Why didn't you just teleport in and get us out? I'm ready already, and what's up with your outfit? When did you change?"

His frown dissolves as he thrust the flowers at me. "I want this to be the best first date," he answers as I take the flowers from him.

I look at it and tighten my hold around the flowers. "Hmm." I hum and transfer the negative to the flowers, the poor things dies and decays into ashes. "Now it looks beautiful." I smirk at him.

"You've seen almost all the romantic movies and you still can't appreciate the beauty of roses. What's wrong with you?"

Oh, so now he looks mad.

"Are you mad?" I don't have to ask, it's obvious.

He shrugs. "I know you and I probably shouldn't be mad at anything you do because they shouldn't even surprised me anymore, but yeah I'm mad. I searched hard for those black and white roses."

Something unfamiliar plunge into my chest, an unfamiliar feeling of guilt. "I'm sorry."

Kai's mouth drops open in surprise. "Did...you...just... apologize?"

I shrug and move closer to him. "What time is the movie starting? I don't want to miss anything."

He tilts his head to side slightly and watch me, I can't watch him and I'm trying not to read his mind anymore. "You're weirder than normal today." It feels like he says absentmindedly as he squint, trying to figure me out. He recovers and shakes his head. "Come on." He offers me his hand.

I take it and without warning he teleport us to the a place I assume is a movie theater. "Come on," without leaving my hand, he pulls into the place. "Wait here, I'll go set everything and get our snack." He tells me and presses a small kiss on my cheek before going away.

I freeze with my mouth part. It's take me a while for me to bring hand up to my cheek. I learned that human shows love and affection. Kai has never shown any interest in me, I mean he cares me but he's never kiss me on the cheek before, and earlier today his hands were all over me. I shouldn't feel like this. The feeling is strange but I can relate to it even though it's never happened to me before. If I was on Di Hipsodat and it was during the Knife Festival, then I'd say Kai's my mate but we aren't on Di Hipsodat. It's Earth, I know my body is still adjusting to the atmosphere and climate, but is it also altering what makes me me?

It's a while for Kai to return and with him is a big bowl of popcorn and big coke. I have a big appetite and he knows. "I got our tickets and snacks, come on the movie is starting."

Without a word I follow him into the dark room with the only light is coming from the projector showing the movie. We're here to watch a horror movie, Friday The Thirteenth. I don't particularly care for horror, because I'm horror myself. I prefer romance.

We sit at the back because the place is filled. I thought humans are fragile and look at how packed the movie theater is for an horror movie. I sit back and try to enjoy the movie but I can't.

Kai places the popcorn on my lap and the coke on the floor. He drops his hand on the arm and enjoys the movie. I can't stop looking at him and I think this is the first time I'm actually looking at him instead of through and into him. I move my hand from the popcorn and drops it on his, this is the first time I'm making a move to touch him. His skin his soft but his hand is rough and hard. He turns his hand and grabs my fingers before facing me.

Wordlessly I move my head towards him and he does the same until our foreheads are touching. I close my eyes as my heart begins to beat in another rhythm, my body begins to come alive. Hair erupt from my skin all over as everything in me freezes. I feel Kai tightens his hold on my hand and blood begins to flow through my body again. My inner eyes open and I see him, only him. Only Kai.

Our nose slides over the other until our mouth touch and the moment is nothing like I've ever felt before. Our souls are merging and Kai's lips touching mine just seal us physically.

"Get me out of here, Malakai." I order him telepathically, without removing my lips teleport us out and I don't have to open my eyes to know we are in his room, on his bed.

I take his other hand in mine and pull him up, we stand in with his hand in mine and mine in his. I remove my lips from his but keep our foreheads press together. I raise our hands up and press it against each other at shoulder length, intertwining our fingers.

It doesn't take long for me to feel the change around me. Kai feels it too because his shivers. "Open your eyes," I command him telepathically and our eye shoot open. "You can see it, right?" I ask.

The glow around Kai and I just confirms to me that we just mated the Dihipian way. My dark aura is intertwined with his light aura and it's dancing around us.

"What's happening?" He asks, I don't miss the amusement and surprise in his tone.

"We just mated in the Dihipian way." I answer, looking into his eyes which is glowing because of what's going on.

"What? I don't understand I thought you said you only get to choose your mate during the Knife Festival, and–I mean am I your mate now? What does this means for me, a Mesdowellian? I–" I press my lips against his to shut him off.

He wraps his around my waist and deepen the kiss. "Shut up and touch me." I slip into his mind.

"Are you sure?" He asks.

"Yes."
