Chapter 9
I woke up in my bed, and Eon was sleeping on my legs.
I could not get up.
I glanced at my watch. It said 5:30.
I'd been sleeping for maybe three or four hours.
Dang, I really was tired.
Why do I keep switching paragraphs for every sentence?
I don't know.
Anyway, I wiggled around enough to get Eon off of my legs, and I slowly got out of bed. Brad and Lisa weren't there, but I didn't think twice about it. They were probably eating or something.
They were eating. At least, Lisa had dragged Brad along to go eat.
I grabbed my bag from the peg on the back of the door, and walked down to the cafeteria. (Or cafetorium, however you say it.)
I looked around. I didn't see them specifically, but I did see some bubbles, which were probably coming from Otter.
I walked to the counter and bought a sandwich, then walked over to the bubbles.
I managed to be about halfway there before the shouting commenced.
"WHAT NOW??? I'M A WHAT NOW?!?!?!"
"Oh, frick..." I muttered and ran over. "Guys..."
"I DIDN'T SAY YOU!!!" Brad yelled.
"OH REALLY? BECAUSE YOU WERE DESCRIBING ME QUITE SPECIFICALLY WITH THOSE WORDS!!!" Lisa shouted, throwing her hands into the air.
"Guys, SHUT UP." I said, throwing my sandwich onto the table. "Shut up, and stop fighting. Forever."
They look at me.
And look at me.
And look at me.
Guess what they did next?
WRONG. They mumbled "I'm sorry" and started to eat in silence.
In my head:
"YEAH!!! GO LLOYD!!! CRISIS AVERTED!!!" Comes from everyone ever.
Cheers, Vanilla Cherry Caffeine-Free Coke Zero, and pretty girls.
Money, fame, power, and a MANSION.
And a boat.
With more pretty girls and Vanilla Cherry Caffeine-Free Coke Zero.
In real life:
Sandwich and friends who are too embarrassed to talk right now.
'Close enough,' I think.
"So..." Lisa said after what seemed like umpteen minutes of awkward silence. "How was your sleep?"
"Good," I replied, relieved that now we could talk. "So... What's the game plan? Are we going to Nacrene City next, or somewhere else?"
"Nacrene. That's where the next gym leader is," Brad said, looking up from his mac n' cheese.
"Oh! And there's a museum there!" Lisa exclaimed.
"OK, so shall we make like a tree and leaf today, or wait until tomorrow morning?" I asked.
"Well, it is getting kinda dark," Lisa said, glancing out the window. "I'll wait."
"Fine," I said. "I honestly prefer sleeping on the dirt, gazing at the stars, and listening to the sound of Kriketunes and other Pokemon throughout the night."
They both gazed at me like I was saying I like to murder people as a hobby.
"What?" I asked.
"This is the 21st century, Lloyd. WE HAVE INDOOR PLUMBING NOW," Brad said.
"Fine, jeez," I said. "I'm gonna go walk around, at least. Maybe go to the park."
And with that, I got up, grabbed what was remaining of my sandwich, and walked off.
I walked down the street for a few minutes, looked at some comic books in a store, maybe bought a Gameboy. And a Megaman.
I walked to the park, and found a bench beneath an Eevee topiary. I sat down, and heard something rustle behind me.
I instinctively reached for Eon's Pokeball, but I remembered that I left him at the room.
All I could do was hope.
Then, after what felt like an eternity, Eon's head popped out.
"Vee!" He said, jumping onto the bench.
"Eon? What're yooouuuuuuu doooiiinnnnggg heeerreee???" I asked.
"Eeee...?"
"Nevermind. Internet."
I sat back down, and continued to play Megaman while Eon watched from the top of my head.
This is hard.
I KEEP DYING AND I JUST CAN'T MAKE THIS STUPID JUMP BECAUSE BY THE TIME I GET ANYWHERE I DIE!!!
"Ve...?" Eon said.
"You want a turn?" I asked.
Eon jumped down from my head and slid the system onto the bench. He then used his paws to press the buttons.
He was a natural.
He seriously speedran the game. He was done with everything in AN HOUR.
Hmm... How do you describe my face in text?
Oh, this'll work.
:O
"HOW'D YOU DO THAT?!" I asked (Probably a little bit too loudly) once Eon finished the game.
"E."
"That makes sense."
I picked up the game, and realized that I should probably get back to the Pokemon Center before Brad and Lisa got very worried.
I started to walk, and the streetlights started to come on. Then I passed the shop again and bought a game called The Legend of Zelda. Then I got back to the Pokemon Center. I walked into the room, and saw Brad watching Netflix and Lisa doodling. I looked at Lisa's drawing, and it looked like she was drawing a dragon.
"What're you drawing?" I asked.
"I dunno. I just had a picture in my head, and it came out like this."
"Wow..." I said. "I didn't know you could draw."
"Neither did I," Lisa said. "But turns out it's pretty easy."
"Ok," I said. I walked over to Brad and said "Whatcha watchin'?"
"Sailor Moon" he replied, obviously zoned out.
"Ok then." I jumped up to my bunk, and started playing The Legend of Zelda. Turns out it's pretty fun.
Once I started yawning, I looked at the time and realized it was nearly one in the morning.
"Uhh, guys?" I said.
I looked down, and saw Brad had already fallen asleep, and Lisa was snoring.
"Huh," I said, walking to the light switch, turning it off, and walked over to my bunk. I pulled the covers up to my head, found out it was too hot, shoved the covers off of my body, found it was too cold, and I realized I could do half-and-half.
Somehow, it worked, and I fell asleep a minute later.
The next morning, I woke up at six o'clock, and quickly got dressed, packed, and grabbed some waffles from downstairs. When I got back, Brad and Lisa had gotten up and dressed, and were in the process of packing up. I decided to go to the bathroom, and once I got out, Brad went, then Lisa. By that point, everyone had packed, and we checked out. We started heading to Route 3, eating our waffles along the way.
"This was a very efficient morning," Lisa said after a bite of waffle. "It's only seven and we're on the way to Nacrene City already!"
"Yeah," Brad said.
We walked for a few more minutes, and pretty soon, we passed a building. An old man was turning a sign on it, and then he walked inside. The sign read "OPEN" and we were intrigued. (By the way, kids, don't just walk into buildings like that. It's not always a good thing.)
We walked in, and the Old man wasn't in sight, but there was a door behind the counter, so we thought he must've gone in there.
We waited a minute, then an old lady came out and said "Oh! I'm sorry for the wait; we usually don't get visitors this early in the morning."
"Oh, it's OK," I said. "But, uh, what is this place?"
"Oh, this is the Pokemon Day Care!" The lady said. "You can leave your Pokemon here, and we level them up a little bit, and sometimes an egg will appear out of nowhere!"
"Uhh, I'm pretty sure that's not..." Brad started, but I punched his arm. "Ow!" He said.
"Well, I'll be honest, I'd like to leave a Pokemon here, but I only have one," I said.
"Same here," Brad and Lisa said.
"Well, if you ever want to come back, you're always welcome here! Until you try to steal an egg or a Pokemon. Then you're banned forever," the lady said.
"Well, that's good to know," Lisa said.
"Thank you!" I said as we walked out.
"You know, we should try and catch more Pokemon," Brad said. "She was right."
"Yeah. Oh, I know! Let's have a contest!" Lisa said. "We can see who catches the coolest Pokemon! We have until..." She glanced at her watch. "Noon."
"Ok," I said.
"In 3... 2... 1... 1 1/2..." Lisa counted.
"You're stalling." Brad said.
"Ok. GO!" Lisa said.

HEY PEOPLES!!!
Ok, I know. I may have lied on the once a week thing. Oops.
Anyway, has anyone noticed that one year ago exactly, I published Chapter 1? And this is Chapter 9?
That's kinda pathetic, when you think about it.
ANYWAY. I just have a lot of stuff going on, mainly school end-of-year tests. But in about a week, I'll have a TON more time.
So yeah, I'm just gonna make this short and start working on the next chapter right now. I may have it come out today, or tomorrow, or something.
So yeah, VOTE!!! COMMENT!!! POTATO!!!
Later!
(LOVE ME)
