I looked Cress straight in the eye, then I burped.

"Sorry! Impolite!" I said.

"Excuse you! That's what you say!" Lisa shouted at me from the stands.

"Lisa! I'm handling it!" I shouted back.

"Are we gonna start, or should I just..." Cress started.

"No, no, we can discuss this..." I glanced over my shoulder, "Later. Go! Eon!"

Eon popped out in a flash of light. He was an Eevee right now, and I sorta sighed, but also was sorta worried.

"Um, you chose... An Eevee?" Cress asked.

"Yes"

"Ok then. Let's start!" Cress shouted.

That battle animation popped up, and Cress shouted "Lillipup! Use Bite!"

Lillipup used Bite, as you may have guessed it would.

"Eon! Use Swift!" I said.

Stars appeared from Eon's tail and launched at Lillipup, who tried to dodge, but the stars just kept following it. After a few seconds of this, and me recording it, the Swift attack hit Lillipup.

"You have your phone?!" Cress shouted at me.

"Yes"

"Lillipup! Use your Work Up!" Cress commanded.

"And Eon, use your Tackle," I said, maybe a little bit too calmly.

"Now use Bite, Lillipup, when it gets close!" Cress shouted.

Eon hesitated, but I thought fast. I think fast when I'm in the zone. I think I'm in the zone.

"Use Detect!"

Lillipup bit at Eon, but Eon just stood there.

"You think fast when you're in the zone," Chili shouted from the stands.

"I think I'm in the zone," I shouted back.

"That makes some sense, I guess," Brad said.

"Continuing on!" I said. "Eon, use your awesome attack that is named something with the stars and stuff whichever one that one is called!"

"And... He's out of the zone," Lisa said with a sigh.

"It's called Swift!" Brad shouted.

"Ah, right. Swift. Originally introduced in Gen 1, and programmed to never miss. Only about 50 Pokemon can learn this move by leveling up, Eevee being one of them. Funny enough, only 7 can learn it by breeding the right parents together with the move. Just about all Pokemon up to Celebi in the National Pokedex can learn this move by TM, and just about all up to Arceus in the National Pokedex by a Move Tutor. He's that random guy who you find in the outdoor market someplace," I said.

"What the heck was that?!" Brad shouted at me.

"I dunno. Kinda just came to me," I replied.

"Yeah, OK." Brad sighed and slumped down in his seat.

Stars shot at whatever Pokemon this was... Lillipup. Right. The Puppy Pokemon was seeing stars after that one.

That was funny, Lloyd.

"Lillipup!" Cress shouted. "Let's go and use another Bite!"

"Eon? Can you believe that? Dodge!" I said.

Eon jumped up into the air, but Lillipup anticipated it. It FOLLOWED Eon into the air.

"No!" I shouted.

"No!" Lisa shouted.

"No! What am I yelling 'No!' for?" Brad asked.

Eon was bitten right on the leg, and he cried out in pain.

"NO!!!" I yelled.

"Vee..." Eon muttered when he hit the ground.

"Eevee is unable to battle!" The referee shouted. "Therefore, Cress is the-"

"VEE!!!" Eon yelled with defiance, standing up.

The ref said "Nevermind" and sat down.

Eon was suddenly enveloped with a white light, and I thought to myself 'Hmm... I said I wouldn't change, but if Eon changes into a regular evolutionary form, like Sylveon or Espeon right now, actually. That may work!'

"Esp!" Eon shouted.

"Wicked..." I muttered.

Turns out Eon is SUPER smart.

"OK, lemme check moves really quick. Time out" I called, while digging my Pokedex out of my back pocket. Sure, I've already memorized the heck out of Eon's moveset for all of his forms, but I had to make this inconspicuous.

Espeon: Level 23. Moves: Confusion, Psybeam, Shadow Ball, Detect. Ability: Magic Bounce. It read.

"OK, we can continue," I called out.

"Uh, Lloyd? They've still been battling. Time-outs aren't allowed!" Lisa yelled from the stands.

I looked down and saw Eon running around at the speed of sound trying to dodge Lillipup's frenzied Bites.

"Lillipup has to be low by now, Eon! So use a Confusion then a Psybeam attack!" I called out.

Eon stopped, turned around, then launched a duck at Lillipup. That's the stupidest battle animation I've ever seen, but it works.

Lillipup got hit right in the forehead, and I saw its eyes go wobbly. Confusion.

"Oh yeah! That one in ten chance worked! Now, use a Psy-"

But I was cut off by Lillipup falling down.

"Well, I see that Lillipup is unable to battle, so..." The ref paused for a second. "Send out your final Pokemon, Cress!"

"Huh. OK then," Cress muttered as he returned Lillipup to his Pokeball and sent out Panpour. "Panpour, to start this off, let's use a Water Gun!"

Panpour looked right at Eon, and spit at him.

You have to admit, that's what it is.

Eon already had about half health, so we couldn't really afford to take many more attacks for the one purpose of landing some of our own. Eon seemed frozen in place, and I couldn't figure out why.

Naturally, I called out "Use Detect" seconds before the "Water" Gun hit, and Eon seemed to snap out of it. He had a glint in his eye,  and a shield appeared right in front of him.

"Great work! Now use your Shadow Ball attack with a Psybeam!"

Combo attacks. They're the best.

The purplish-pinkish comet (It had a tail of Psybeam; that classifies it as a comet) spun toward Panpour, but Cress yelled "Use Fury Swipes!" and Panpour jumped over it, and sliced it into small pieces. Those pieces, if they didn't immediately blow up, spiraled out of control. One hit the stands right behind Lisa and Brad, and they jumped.

Luckily for us, Panpour got hit by one of the projectiles, and took a little damage from some of the explosions. I guessed maybe a third or a fourth of his health went down, so the attack sorta worked.

"Close enough," I said. "Now, use Confusion!"

The duck popped out of Eon's head and again floated toward Panpour, but he dodged.

"Now, Panpour, use your Lick attack!" Cress commanded.

"Oh, frick."

Eon got LICKED.

Eon, naturally, got the chance of being paralyzed, and became paralyzed.

From paralyzation.

Naturally.

Eon was frozen in place. I knew that this was one of the most vulnerable spots we've been in this whole battle, and if we took a couple of hits, I'd be down and plotting my next battle against Cress.

"Panpour, use Fury Swipes!" Cress shouted.

"Eon!? Can you manage a Detect?" I asked.

Eon just stood there. I knew he was trying his hardest to block the attack, or even just move out of the way.

Panpour was right there.

"ESPEON!!!" Eon shouted in a defiant walk.

Yes, he did manage to dodge. That's what I was implying.

I could see that Eon was still stiff, but he was at least moving. A little bit.

I knew that I had a Cheri Berry somewhere, but I left my bag on the stands.

"OK, Eon! We'll have to push through until this Paralysis wears off!" I said.

"Esp!" Eon nodded back at me.

"OK. Let's go to the defensive! Use Confusion!" I yelled.

Eon launched the duck at Panpour, and this time it hit. It only did a little bit of damage, and didn't confuse him.

Cress looked defiant. He knew that he was probably about to win, especially since Eon was paralyzed and low health. "Use Water Gun."

Eon ducked and launched another duck from his head. Only a little damage was done, and no confusion.

"Dang!" I said.

"Now, use Lick!" Cress commanded.

He seemed to be going to the offensive, now that Eon was low. That means... If I could knock down some stats, I could win.

"Eon! Dodge that attack!" I shouted.

Eon jumped, and waited for a command.

Now, my strategy is going against what I said earlier,  but it may be the only way I could win. Panpour is at at least half health, and Eon is at maybe an eighth. So I have to do this.

"Draining Kiss."

Eon looked at me like I was crazy for doing this. Cress, Chili, and Cilan all looked confused, because Espeon or Eevee couldn't learn that move, and Lisa and Brad stared in shock.

"Espeon just evolved into a Sylveon..." Chili muttered from the stands.

Cilan looked shocked. "H-How..."

Lisa and Brad were just yelling at me for doing that.

And Cress just stood there with his mouth open.

Even Panpour was shocked, but like they say, if a Trainer is doing something or feeling something, so will the Pokemon.

Panpour just stood there as he was hit with the Draining Kiss. Draining Kiss is a move somewhat like Leech Seed, where you steal some HP from the opponent.

Suddenly, I had a fighting chance.

"OK Eon! Let's do this. USE FAIRY WIND!!!" I yelled defiantly.

"SYYYLLLLLLLLLLVEEEEEEEEEOOOONNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!" Eon yelled for a very long time before a wave of something hit Panpour and knocked him onto his butt.

Cress only snapped out of it then. "Oh dang. OK, so something's up with that Eevee, or Espeon, or whatever. But no matter! Use Lick!"

"Not today." I said, as Sylveon gathered up some matter. "Launch the Shadow Ball."

The blob of energy hit spot-on. Panpour was knocked out. Eon was panting. I was in a puddle of sweat. Lisa and Brad came over to hug me then backed away when they saw I was in a puddle of sweat.

"Um, congrats, Lloyd, you've, uh, won," The ref said. "Uhm, here's your badge."

He handed me a little badge on a cushion, and I picked it up.

"Yea!" I said, holding it up into the air. "I got..." I twirled around. "The Trio Badge!" Eon jumped into the air, made a happy face, a background pulled up, music played, and then I passed out.

I was tired, man.
