✷      𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗢𝗙 the accident remained fresh in Roscoe Léandre's mind. It was meant to be a fun party at the abandoned house around the corner of Lakemoor College, celebrating the week of Halloween, dressing up in costumes and partying the night away. Instead, it took a drastic turn when the students all decided to try out a séance, ignoring all stereotypes of horror films as they attempted to contact the past owners of the house. The ghostly howls filled the room as all the students freaked out, begging to keep their life for a little longer. Roscoe glanced to the side and noticed a masked student with a speaker pausing the "howls" and leaving the crime scene. All there was left was Roscoe to take the blame because of the camera in his hand, filming the entire thing ━ as an 'elaborate' prank gone wrong.

Roscoe did try to defend himself, claiming that he was merely filming the party for a keepsake, wanting to fulfil the dreams of becoming a film director one day. Wanting to create a memento of his college years to look back to grimace at his teenage's self. He tried to find the true identity of the masked prankster, but nothing worked in discovering who it was. Now, all of the hopeful wishes for a perfect senior year were ruined because of a stupid prank that went wrong ━ a prank that he was blamed for. Now, the looks he got in the hallway when the new week began were enough to make Roscoe bury his head in the sand and never resurface again.

But something lured Roscoe out of the sand... Something that would impact the path of his senior year; was the Edgar Poe Club. It felt like something that was ripped out of an underground dark academic novel, but Roscoe was intrigued. A cryptic video revealed nothing but small hints that Roscoe desperately needed to learn about this secret club. As it turned out, they both had something in common ━ victims of pranks gone wrong. 

Each club member had a vendetta against their prankster, wanting a chance to redeem themselves for experiencing a horrible moment in their high school career, and Roscoe pledged to find the prankster that put the blame on him. Eight victims were to create a 'Fear Test'━or what was commonly known as a vendetta━against their counterparts to create a satisfying revenge. There was only one rule: never reveal anything. All Roscoe knows about the club is the members and the reason why they were there in the first place, and nothing more. Their identities were hidden by the same mask Roscoe had seen that night━and the revenge plans themselves.

That ended up being problematic, as one fateful night, Lakemoor is greeted with a sudden demise of a student. The death caught everyone off guard, and Roscoe couldn't help but see the loose ends of the crime. Everything is all connected when Roscoe decides to sneak into the police station to find out the cause of death, only to see that the familiar mask is in the evidence drawers. The mask that belonged to the club.

Someone in the Edgar Poe Club took a prank too far, and it seemed that the prankster wouldn't stop at one ━ the body count would only increase.

✶ welcome everyone to the return of the horror era, with the edgar poe club! i have missed creating horror stories, seeing as i had made my start with my beloved story; escape the night, and then made my way across different (now drafted, don't worry, they will eventually make their returns) stories that had the horror vibes. i thought, it was best to return with this one, and oh boy, am i excited for this to be written!!

✶ i wanted to let you guys know that the title is in fact an intentional pun hehe! seeing that it's the edgar poe club, and the story is surrounded a murder, which also means a group of crows, and edgar poe was known for the crow poem!! i am absolutely proud of this, so that's why you all deserve to know about this!!

✶ i have always wanted to write a college━based application, after seeing curiosityanddreams genius of their college━based books!! you guys absolutely need to check out her books, because let me tell you something, they are genuinely beautiful to read, and i am just absolutely addicted to reading them! they will either leave you with chills or at the edge of your seat every time! 

✶ i haven't written horror out in a while, and so this was really a chance for me to get back to my roots, and honestly, i am so, so excited, because this plot is something i haven't seen before, and that's why i knew i had to make it an application book! i really wanted you guys to be involved with this, knowing that it could be something interesting!

✶ everything about the application itself, will be in the application chapter, so apply with your characters on that chapter only! everything you need to know will be in there :) i cannot wait to see what you guys come up with!!
