Today's section is Matthew 26:36-46
This is the story of The Garden of Gethsemane (pronounced geth sem uh nee).
Jesus has taken all the disciples (except Judas, he snuck away) to a place called the Garden of Gethsemane. There, he is desperately praying. He knows he will die. He knows it will be long and painful. He also knows that if God says it's the only way, then the best thing is to let it happen. However, he's still praying. Asking if there is ANY other way. But he ends all of his prayers with "Yet not as I will, but what you will." Jesus was faithful till the end. He knew he had come to this earth to die for us, and he knew it was the only way to save us. He even says at another time that nobody can come to the Father, except through [him].
The other part of this story is the disciples. They fell down to their temptations, and slept when Jesus told them to keep watch. Three times. I don't know how to elaborate on this too much, so I'll just get straight to the point. We need to pray to God for the strength to resist our temptations. Like all the time. The world is FULL of things that could lead us down the wrong path. We need to stay on the path God wants us to stay on, so praying is essential.
That's really all I have to say, so please comment anything you think I should add. You can comment or PM me with anything. Prayer requests, questions, or literally anything else. Hope everyone has a good day!
