Saturday
I'm very sorry that this is late. I was busy all day, then I fell asleep before finishing it. Luckily, it's not too long.
Today's passage is from Matthew 27:57-61.
Today is Holy Saturday. The day Jesus rescued the faithful Jews from Hell. But that's not what I'm going to talk about. Basically all that happened is that a guy asked for Jesus's body, and he buried it in his family's toumb. That was a big deal. There's not much to it. So I'll back up and talk about Peter's denial. And I'll just summerize instead of looking up the verses for you.
So at The Last Supper, Jesus had predicted Peter's denial, saying that he would deny him three times before the rooster crowed. Then, he followed behind Jesus while he was on trial from a distance. Someone accused him of being one of Jesus's followers three times, and every time, he denied it. Then the rooster crowed, and he realized what he had done. Later, after Jesus rose from the dead, he asks Peter "Do you love me?" Three times. And every time, Peter answers "Yes LORD." And Jesus replies with "Then feed my sheep." Peter was more concerned about his OWN safety than being honest and saying he was one of Jesus's followers. And we can't be like that. If you follow Jesus, be PROUD of it. Show it off to the world. Maybe you'll encourage someone else to follow Jesus too.
That's all I have. Again, I'm so sorry it's late. I'll try not to let any of my Bible studies be late again. Please comment or PM me with any additions to what I said, prayer requests, or questions. Have a great Easter Sunday!
