Diana's POV

Flashback

It was evening. The sun was setting down, and the sky looked a mixture of orange and red colors.

I was sitting in the branch of one of the trees, dangling my feet in the air and playing with the tree. I could talk to the trees and plants like Artemis, who could talk to animals.

“Its a wonderful evening. ” I heard its voice.

“Isn't it?” I said nodding. “You like it? ”

“Yes, it's calm. Thank you Diana, for helping and taking care of us. You are the best goddess one could have. ” I heard another heavenly voice. It was the trees speaking.

“Could you stop it? It seems creepy. ” Artemis said.“ You talking to air.”

“You talking to animals also sounds creepy. ” I said making a face at her.

“Could you stop it guys? ” Aurora said jumping high and sitting in another branch.

“Yeah, shut up Diana. ” Artemis said. I nodded at the tree on which Artemis was sitting. I heard it giggle and it shook itself.

Artemis landed on the ground with a thud.

“Ah...Ouch, I can't believe this. I am sorry for calling you creepy. ” She said rubbing herself from the mud stuck to her.

I heard all of them laugh and shake their leaves as if accepting her apology.

“Diana, two girls are running this way, should we help them reach here, or should we let them get lost? ” All of them said in a sing song voice.

The trees were cunning. They had a mind of their own, and they often made people lose themselves in the forests. They loved to play with random citizens who wander in the forest.

“Allow them here.” I said smiling.

“Ah... You are no fun, Diana. ” They said. If trees had faces, they could be pouting now.

Soon, two girls were running towards us.

“What is happening? ” Artemis asked. “They are too skinny and there's no muscles. Have they been starved? ”

“We will know, only when we talk to them. ” I said and Aurora jumped down to the ground. I sat in the tree looking at them.

The girls had tears streaming down their cheeks. They ran towards our direction panting and struggling to walk. We just stood in the shadows of the trees and watched them silently.

“Caroline, I can't walk anymore. I am hungry.” A younger looking girl said. She had long blonde hair, but was covered in dirt and leaves.

“Mariah, we haven't come this far only to be pushed back into that hell again. We will escape. ” Caroline said determind.

I nodded at Aurora and she walked towards them.

“What are you girls doing in this part of the forest and at this hour of the night.” She asked trying to be soft.

“W-We ran away from the pack. They abuse all the omegas and beat us. ” Mariah said sniffing. Artemis looked at them intently trying to search the truth. Even she had the ability to find whether the person was telling the truth or lie.

I nodded quickly at Aurora. They were telling the truth.

“You shouldn't have come here. The forest is dangerous during night. Haven't you heard the tales of the trees playing with the poor mortals? ” Artemis said smirking. But the girls didn't see that.

The girls shook their head frightened.

“Artemis don't scare them. ” I said still in my tree but away from their eyesight.

The girls looked everywhere trying to find me.

“Listen carefully, you both will walk in the path made by the trees. It will lead you to the Royal Pack. Don't stray away from the path and you will live. ” I said softly but authoritatively.

They nodded in unison.

“Trees, make the way for the girls to pass and it should reach Royal Moon Pack. No distracting them.” I said making my voice to be heard by the trees only. The voices groaned loudly and rustled making a small straight path. It would directly lead these girls to safety.

The girls hurriedly thanked us and walked through the path made for them. The trees closed behind them, covering all the marks made by them.

Artemis called a rabbit and spoke with it, asking to check on the girls. The rabbit squeaked and hopped off in the direction of the girls.

Artemis and Aurora sat back on the trees and we began playing again.

Soon I heard the trees speak again.“ Diana, Diana, some men are coming here. They are searching for the two girls. Should we let them here or should we let them get lost. ” They said again in a sing song voice.

“Let them here. ” I said again smiling.

“Alright, goddess. ” Suddenly a group of men, in their wolf form were visible to us. Warriors. They were medium sized wolves and none of them held power except for the Beta in the middle of them.

“We have to find them. Search high and low. Don't let them get away. ” The Beta commanded the warriors.

Artemis and Aurora jumped down and came up to my tree.

The leaves rustled loudly at my command.

“Who is there? ” The Beta shouted using his Beta voice.

We didn't reply but jumped down together to the ground.

The Beta looked at us and stiffened. We had conceled our power and that made us no less than omegas.

He licked his lips lightly and started making his way towards us with two warriors.

“What are you pretty girls doing here, at this hour? ” He asked, his eyes wandering all over my body.

“We live here.” Artemis said rudely. I had to suppress a chuckle at that. Artemis was always the hot headed out of the three of us, while Aurora was both, calm and angry. I was the most silent and the calmest person of the three.

“Oh really! You live here, in these trees? ” He asked mocking her. I had to use my powers to stop Artemis from killing the guy.

“Well, our house is in a distance from here. We always stroll through here, when we are free. ” I said smiling at him.

“Did you by chance see two girls running through here? ” He asked raising one eyebrow.

“Yes, they went that way. I could show you. ” I said nodding and smiling. He looked surprised but followed us. I vanished from there and teleported far away from them, while Aurora and Artemis kept them busy while walking. I had a power which allowed me to move without actually moving my body. Only my soul would be teleporting to the place, while my mortal body would remain back.

I asked one of the reapers in hell, to bring me the body of two girls. I could command the soul reapers of hell and that was a gift from father.

He nodded and soon brought me the bodies of two girls. The girls were dead already and that helped me to not kill them.

I used my powers and put a dress and bracelet similar to that on the girls body.

I commanded the reaper to take these towards the Beta and I teleported back near them.

We walked towards those bodies and I pointed at them.

“Oh, no. These girls were alive a while ago. What might have happened to them? ” I said fake gasping and crying.

The Beta looked shocked and stood silently watching for a second.

“Uh... ” He grumbled something and said, “You girls should go back to your homes. It's not safe here. ”

We nodded and all the men walked away, carrying the dead girls.

We walked back and jumped and sat on our tree. Talking, laughing and just watching the nature.

Flashback over

.........

I remembered the day clearly. Of course a goddess remembers everything.

That day the rabbit had come back to us, informing that the girls have reached safety. And we had erased the betas memories of talking and seeing us. And hence he didn't remember us when he saw us now.

We looked at each other again, and just stood silently.

We slowly began prepping for the breakfast while others started getting up from their seats on the floor.

This will take more time than I thought.
