Chapter 6: The Beginning of a Rivalry, Heihachi's Ulterior Motive
Y/N POV
Jin Kazama.
That was to be my opponent for the fourth round of the tournament. And I'll admit, I was both uneasy and excited. I know I'd said I felt uncomfortable before my fight with Nina. But this was different.
Jin was after all, a member of the infamous Mishima bloodline. Each one was a highly capable fighter in their own right. There was a reason why I'd only initially been tasked to OBSERVE Jin Kazama before the tournament was announced.
But now, if I was to complete my mission and advance to the finals, I'd have to go through him after all. A fact which was both scary but also really interesting. There was no phone call from Jin, I wondered if he even had access to a phone. In fact there wasn't even a note from him.
This time it was ME who made the effort to contact. Not verbally, but similar to what Nina did, I sent a note telling him to meet me an underground parking area designated as booked for the tournament, it was fortunately away from prying eyes.
I wondered if he'd actually show up. I headed to the spot and sure enough he wasn't there. It seems Christie and King were the only ones to have any initiative and show up before me. Either way, I waited.
Not for long though, I'll give him that. It was completely silent in the car park so I heard the sound of footsteps approaching. Opening my eyes, there he stood. Sporting a different attire to our last encounter.
Image of Jin Kazama:
He looked around at our surroundings, me just watching him silently before he turned to me and spoke "I was wondering if this was some kind of set-up." I shook my head "No, I tried explaining this to you last time. I have no affiliation with your family."
Jin narrowed his eyes and raised his gloved fist, asking "Then why were you spying on me?" I folded my arms and sighed. "That information is classified Jin Kazama. It was a mistake you discovered my in our last encounter but it seems now is the time to settle things between us."
Jin got into a combat stance as soon as I said this, he stated "If that's what it takes for you to talk. I will find out who you are one way or another." I also got into a combat stance as my own eyes narrowed.
We stood for a moment, not moving a muscle. It seems both of us were waiting for the other to make the first move. We began taking slow steps, as Jin moved left, I went left causing us to move in a circular motion.
I eventually went first. Going right in using my speed to my advantage. I rushed forward and went for a kicking attack in an effort to end the fight as quickly as possible. Of course I should have guessed it wouldn't have been this easy.
Jin raised his left arm causing my leg to collide with it locking us into a clash. I noticed that familiar build-up of red electricity. It sparked around Jin's arm and I felt a buzz as parts went into my leg.
I wasted no time separating from the clash to follow up with a chop to Jin's neck however he caught my wrist in mid-air and went to deliver another punch. I was able to catch his fist as well and we found ourselves locked in another clash.
We quickly split and from there began trading blows, back and forth we went landing hit after hit on one another. I couldn't tell which one of us had the advantage truly. He landed a punch to my cheek while I landed a kick to his side.
This kept up for a while until Jin went in for an uppercut. The blow struck my chin and left me stunned for a moment. He instantly followed this up with a lethal barrage of punches one after another. I rag-dolled against their force.
Luckily, as soon as the punches let up, I was able to recover and returned the favour ten-fold only my flurry consisted of a barrage of kick attacks, jabbing Jin in his face, stomach, sides again even in his arms and legs.
After that, we both took a moment to stop, we stared at one another for a moment. I broke the silence "So, this is the strength of a Mishima? You certainly live up to your family's name Jin I'll give you that."
Jin growled in anger and snapped "Don't compare me to those bastards." He stepped forward, declaring "I'm ending this right now!" He went forward, just like he had done in our very first encounter. Thrusting his fist forward right towards my face.
And again, just like last time I caught the punch. Jin continued to push, putting great amounts of effort into the attack. I found it difficult to keep him in place. That's when I felt a sudden impact collide with my stomach!
Looking down, my eyes widened when I noticed Jin's knee stuck out jabbing into my torso. I gagged for a moment, gasped as well. I'd been left stunned once again. This didn't last long though. As soon as my breath was back, I thrust my head forward and collided directly with Jin.
He staggered back, clutching his face with his hands before he snapped "Damn you!" He lashed out once again and we were back to trading blows. Jin focused on punches while I focused on my kicks. And again, it was impossible to tell who was winning, we seemed almost even.
We switched it up a bit, I went in for a punch as Jin went in with a kick. We struck one another however I sped behind him trying to land a hard-hitting blow from behind to finish the fight up. However Jin was one step ahead of me.
As soon as I'd gotten behind me, he flung his arm up and effectively elbowed me in the face, not hard enough to break my nose or anything but enough to catch me off guard. I still managed to attack, but I didn't hit nearly as hard as I'd have liked.
My fist hit Jin in the back making him groan in pain. He staggered forward while I went back. We remained still for a moment before once again turning to one another. We were both catching our breath, preparing to strike again when we heard it.
Footsteps could be heard running in our direction. We both turned in the direction of the noise to see several soldiers all storm into the parking area. I recognized them instantly by their black armour. The Tekken Force, the soldiers that served the Mishima Zaibatsu. Why were they here?
Image of a Tekken Force Soldier:
There were about twenty soldiers at first. They rushed into the parking area and completely surrounded myself and Jin. Each one armed with a rifle that they promptly aimed in our direction. One of the soldiers yelled. "Freeze! Both of you! Stop right where you are!"
Me and Jin instantly stood back to back, staring at the soldiers one by one. Jin asked "Your back-up?" I shook my head "No, I told you before I'm no friend of your family." Jin gave a faint nod before suggesting "Then what's say we put our score aside for later."
I smirked "Sounds good to me. When you're ready." That same soldier yelled "I told you both FREEZE!" I smirked for a moment. That's when Jin gave the signal, swiftly punching the soldier directly in front of him.
I lashed out, chopping one soldier in the neck. I elbowed another and kicked a third. From there it was an all-out onslaught. I will admit, when I woke up this morning, I never would have expected I'd be fighting side by side with Jin Kazama.
Between the two of us, we were fighting our way through the Tekken Force's soldiers. At first things seemed to be going well. However soon things took a turn. We heard trucks pulling up outside, more soldiers piled into the car park.
There had been twenty to begin with. That soon increased to thirty, then forty, finally FIFTY! Me and Jin did our best to fend them off however as they kept increasing, we began to become overwhelmed. That's when I was struck in the head by the but of one of the rifles!
My head was ringing I tried my best to stand up however factoring in I was already tired from my fight with Jin and the head strike I'd just sustained. I collapsed to the ground. As my eyes began to close, I just about saw Jin meet a similar fate.
Image of Jin being knocked out and captured by the Tekken Force:
I overheard the soldiers talking "What now sir?" One of the other soldiers, presumably a superior, replied "Alert the chopper we have subdued and apprehended the target." A third soldier pointed in my direction "What about the ninja sir?"
The captain replied "Orders said to leave him. Leave the note with him and take the target." After that it became harder to figure out what was being said. I began to feel even more light-headed as one of the soldiers dropped something by me. The last thing I saw was them gather around Jin. I do wonder though, why had the Tekken Force attacked? Heihachi had an ulterior motive here, what was it?
With that thought though, my mind finally slipped into unconsciousness...
Author's Note: And that's it for this chapter, finally the showdown between Y/N and Jin. I really hope you enjoyed it. I also hope you liked the chapter and as always, thank you for reading.
