Chapter 12: The Battle in Hon-Maru

Y/N POV

I kept myself concealed, barely peering around the door into the large room. I doubted either Mishima would turn around, they both seemed transfixed on the subdued Jin, they walked forward before coming to a stop. There was silence, before Kazuya spoke.

His voice held a distorted, echoed manner to it as he stated to his unconscious son. "So, you were with him after all, my half..." He trailed off, my eyes narrowed in concentration while Heihachi turned to look at him asking "Who are you?"

Kazuya turned to face him and I was shocked when I saw both his eyes glowing a bright red. "Hmph! I am what you refer to as 'Devil'." He went on to explain. "Twenty years ago, I lost part of myself when you nearly killed me. Now, I'll retrieve what's rightfully mine. The time has come for my resurrection!"

So, the rumours were true, I'd heard about the Devil blood Kazuya possessed, that which he displayed in the King of Iron Fist 2. I kept watching as Heihachi slowly began to step back. Kazuya glared at him "You saved me the trouble of having to search for him. For your troubles, I'll give you a taste of my power."

His eyes glowed and Heihachi was suddenly flung back, he collided with the wall right near me, startling me with a loud crash as he slumped to the ground, knocked out. I ducked out of sight, hoping Kazuya hadn't noticed me.

He mustn't have, because I heard him mock "What's the matter? Didn't your precious science provide all the answers you needed about my power?" He smirked before turning his attention back to Jin.

I looked back around to see him stick his hand out and a purple aura enveloped Jin's body. I noticed marks began forming across his chest. Kazuya seemed shocked by this as he let out a surprised "What?! Why won't you change?!"

There was a pause for a moment "Is it because of the Kazama blood?!" Electricity enveloped Kazuya as he cried out in pain. He began staggering around exclaiming "Kazuya, what are you do-!" It seemed Kazuya was fighting with the devil within in his head. I didn't want to risk interfering. Against a Devil, I doubted my chances.

I continued watching as Kazuya dropped to his knees. He calmed down, before muttering. "I see, Didn't know about this method of unifying our power." Getting back to his feet, he looked up at Jin and stated "This is the end of you. Now you'll become a part of me..."

Jin POV

Darkness surrounded me from all sides, I was completely alone in a void. My only company was my own breaths as I tried to wrap my head around what was happening. And that's when I heard the voice. One I'd never heard before, but at the same time, I recognized it all too well.

"Give in to your anger!" It yelled. "Hate me! Curse me!" A demonic laugh filled my ears and I was surrounded from all sides by dark figures, all of which bore the appearance of my father, looking down on my with a smirk.

He repeated the same phrase over and over. "Give into your anger! Hate me! Curse me!" I tried lashing out, however my fists would just phase right through him. His words drilled further and further into my mind, I was utterly powerless. As I dropped to my knees, his voice yelled "Rise! Jin Kazama!" That's when I came too. My eyes snapped open!

Straight away, I broke from the chains holding me in place and fell to the ground on all fours. I stayed there for a moment, I felt a rush of energy flowing through me, I panted hard to try and catch my breath. Looking at my hand, I noticed a purple aura building up around me as black markings began to appear.

(Like the image at the top, just without the wings.)

I didn't pay any attention to them though. Anger, hatred, loathing all of them filled my being. My head snapped up, sure enough, I saw my father stood over me. I snapped with rage "You! If only you were dead! Once I killed you, it'll be all over!"

I rushed at my father, instantly going in for a punch...

Y/N POV

I watched as Jin came to, as soon as he was up he charged forward and thrust his fist towards Kazuya with a rage-filled yell. Kazuya raised his fist and caught the blow before counter attacking with a jab to his son's ribs.

Jin let out a grunt and recoiled before recovering and sending a left hook right into Kazuya's jaw. Both of them stepped back from one another. Jin soon went in for another attack, sending multiple quick punches in quick succession making Kazuya stagger a bit.

He soon regained his composure and went on the offensive himself though, he countered with a roundhouse kick, breaking Jin's guard and instantly followed up with two punches one after the other.

Jin tried to land a punch again, however Kazuya ducked, he went in with the same trick he used against both my own father and Heihachi at the tournament. He spun around to build up blue electricity before launching up with a fierce uppercut!

He struck Jin right on the chin sending him up into the air and onto his back. As Jin lay there, Kazuya stood over him, berating. "Come on! Get up! You possess my blood, the Devil gene! Stand up and make this interesting for me!"

Jin rolled over, growling "You..." He slowly got back to his feet and stood there for a moment, he seemed to be just panting to himself before abruptly, he thrust his fist forward, striking Kazuya right in the nose!

Red electricity sparked this time, around Jin's hand and briefly around Kazuya's head as he felt the blow's impact. Slowly he lowered his hands to reveal a fierce glare. Quickly, he struck Jin with a faint jab to the stomach which stunned Jin.

This was then followed by the Mishima style's Wind God Fist and a roundhouse kick to complete the combo. Knocking Jin into one of the wooden pillars of them large room. He grunted before once more getting up, ready to fight.

I considered intervening. If me and Jin worked together, we'd be able to defeat Kazuya. But, a part of me felt it wasn't my place. The Mishima conflict was a matter to be resolved by them. And despite my father being Heihachi's adopted son, the Mishima blood itself didn't flow through us. I opted to focus on my mission, observe and wait for Raven's arrival.

Jin rushed Kazuya and sent his arm out, Kazuya raised his arm and both their forearms collided with one another! As they collided, I noticed a build up of electricity once again, this time red and blue danced about across their bodies especially in their locked arms.

They stayed like this for a moment glaring hatefully at one another before Jin launched his other fist right into Kazuya's chest. This broke their clash and caused them to begin trading blows. Kazuya caught one of Jin's punches and slung him over his shoulder, throwing him to the ground with a grunt as the air was knocked out of him.

Kazuya had an opportunity there to finish things off. But he didn't. Instead he just stood there. "Oh my son, I'll admit. I'm disappointed. To think someone born with my blood, the blood of a devil, would go down so quickly."

There was a pause for a moment before Kazuya grinned even more. "Then again." He began. "You aren't full-blood Mishima. Your mother was very skilled you know, one of the few to give me a decent fight. But it seems, when it came down to it. She wasn't strong enough to defend herself against that Ogre was she?"

That caught Jin's attention, I saw his eyes suddenly widen. In an instant, he flipped forward, kicking Kazuya in the shins in the process. This stunned him and gave Jin the opportunity to grab his father and tackle him to the ground.

He held him in a choke hold, snapping "Don't ever mention my mother again you bastard!" In a clear rage he raised his fist and punched Kazuya right in the face, he did it again, and again and AGAIN! Blow after blow.

Kazuya laughed at first however the beating continued. Jin began yelling in anger with each attack until suddenly there was silence. Kazuya stopped moving, he wasn't dead, I could still see his chest rising and falling, but he didn't get up.

Jin did though, stepping back a bit from his father's unconscious body. It was at this point I heard Heihachi begin to come to as well. He placed a hand to his head and shook it a bit, regaining his senses.

Once that was done, he began to get to his feet and approached the pair. Upon reaching them, he looked down at Kazuya with distaste. Commenting "What a pathetic wretch. You worthless coward!" Turning his attention back to Jin, he told him "I will make your power mine. Time to die boy!" With those words, he entered his Mishima-style stance.

Jin glared with a look of pure hatred, perhaps even more than that hate he had for Kazuya. They stood still for a moment either one waiting for the other to make a move. It was Heihachi though, that finally moved first.

He instantly thrust his palm out, catching Jin off guard as his attack collided with his grandson's chest, knocking him onto his back. Jin quickly recovered and landed a powerful kick to Heihachi's stomach making him double over and allowing Jin a chance to get back to his feet.

He instantly retaliated by elbowing Heihachi in the face which was then followed up by him landing a quick jab to the side. A kick followed this and another punch was planned but Heihachi raised his hand and managed to catch the fist mid-strike.

Heihachi thrust his head forward, colliding with Jin in a headbutt. More electricity sparked as the grandson was knocked to the ground a second time. Heihachi burst out laughing before spitting cruelly. "HAHAHA! Jin, you should stay like that. On the ground like the worm you are!"

Frankly, it just seemed he was being petty now. But it seemed to do its job of getting into Jin's head as he snapped "You bastard!" He got up and landed a powerful looking kick to Heihachi's stomach.

This was followed by him swinging his left arm so that his glove struck Heihachi in the face, kind of like he'd done against Kazuya. This time though, he didn't stop there. He went in with his signature barrage of punches one after the other.

It seemed Jin had the upper hand here. Heihachi attempted to go in for a Wind God Fist however Jin stepped back just in time to dodge the blow before countering with a lightning quick punch that was followed by an uppercut of his own.

Heihachi wasn't stunned as you'd expect, but he did recoil which gave Jin enough time to rain down another barrage of punches in quick succession. Heihachi recoiled under each one, staggering back.

Then he stopped recoiling, he took the punches without so much as a flinch. He raised his arm, like he did against Kazuya before bringing it down like a hammer, his fist colliding with Jin's head!

I heard Jin let out a grunt as he dropped down to the floor. He wasn't down long as he leapt back up. He landed a kick before swinging his fist forward and colliding it into Heihachi's stomach! There was a burst of red electricity as Heihachi dropped to his knees.

Jin quickly grabbed him by his gi and raised his hand to land a finishing blow. And that's when I noticed something that made me stare. Those black markings from earlier re-appeared across Jin's chest, black wings protruded from his back.

I was left shocked, it seemed I was getting a glimpse at the devil within Jin. He kept his hand at the ready, about to thrust forward and kill Heihachi. But he didn't, he stopped. He abruptly turned his head to look at a statue at the far-end of the room. His eyes widened and he let out a gasp.

(For those who either haven't played Tekken 4 or aren't familiar with this. The reason Jin doesn't kill Heihachi is because he has a brief vision of his mother Jun.)

He paused for a moment, before lowering his arm. He looked down before throwing Heihachi to the ground. He stood up and I got my first look at the marking and wings that he now sported. He could be heard muttering "Thank you mother. Jun Kazama." This just left me confused.

I considered saying something however before I could reveal myself, Jin turned his back to me. He looked up to the ceiling before flapping his wings. He shot into the air, smashing a hole right through the ceiling and into the night.

Image of Jin Kazama fleeing Hon-Maru:

I just watched in confusion at what had just happened. My attention shifted to the now unconscious Heihachi and Kazuya. This seemed to be my chance to apprehend both of them. I'd still not received confirmation of Raven's arrival just yet. I was about to go and wait somewhere for his arrival when I heard something.

The sound of several helicopters overhead.  I scowled and muttered "What the hell's going on?" I couldn't afford to compromise my mission with whatever was going on here. I began making my way to the exit of the temple.

That's when something abruptly crashed through the floors above and landed in front of me...

Author's Note: And that's it for this chapter and the Tekken 4 segment of the story. I really hope you've enjoyed it. Now if my current plan works, the next two chapters could be interesting the next chapter along with the one after will actually take place at the same time. First we'll have one based around Kazuya and Heihachi (The Tekken 5 opening) then we'll have a chapter based around Y/N, introducing Raven. Now this isn't concrete yet since I may be able to fit all this into one chapter. We'll have to see. I hope you like what's to come and as always, thank you for reading.
