Chapter 1: Jin Kazama Located!
Y/N POV
Brisbane, Australia.
Not the place I expected to be when I was given this assignment. And yet here I was. Then again, given the background of the subject involved, I guess I shouldn't have been surprised to find them so far away from their home country.
I will admit, I was surprised I was given this task in the first place. Usually Raven would be given a task like this. But it seems he'd already been assigned to another matter. That left me. All other agents would be completely ineffective for this mission. The mission of tracking down JIN KAZAMA! The youngest heir of the Mishima Bloodline!
Jin Kazama was the son of Kazuya Mishima and grandson of Heihachi Mishima. He'd caused quite a stir in the King of Iron Fist Tournament 3 when he defeated the entity known as Ogre two years ago. After that he vanished. My job was to discover the whereabouts of the lost heir and report back.
I'd searched for months, travelling the world starting at the battleground where he'd fought Ogre, his last known location. For all I knew, he could be dead and this search could have been for nothing. However then I received my biggest break.
One of our informants reported a man in Brisbane Australia, who bore resemblance to the suspect. The man appeared a few times before vanishing without a trace. However due to his frequent appearances, my search was finally narrowed down.
Upon my arrival in the busy city, I began asking around in one area of the city I got people who recognized the description just couldn't put a name or location to them. And finally one person told me they'd seen the man frequenting a dojo isolated in an alley away from the busy streets. And it was overlooking this dojo where I'll admit, I began to feel nervous.
I knew just what the Mishima's were capable of. Even though they happened before I was even born, I remember hearing about the battles between Kazuya and his father Heihachi in the first and second King of Iron Fist Tournaments.
In fact, it was my mother who told me them, before her passing. She told me my father fought in these tournaments against both Kazuya in the first and Heihachi in the second. My father's identity had always been a mystery, but my mother showed me some of his fighting style which she'd seen first-hand and passed on to me. Hopefully one day I'd meet him, so I could make him pay for abandoning both my mother and I. I'm getting side-tracked, I need to focus on the task at hand.
I stood outside the dojo that all my searching had lead me to. All that could be heard was the distant sound of cars, seagulls in the air and the sounds of punching followed by loud grunts. I just stared up at the building before making my move.
I didn't risk trying the front door, instead I used all my strength along with my enhanced agility from my ninja training to leap up onto the low roof of the dojo. From there I slowly began to sneak along the rooftops until I reached an open courtyard.
The courtyard had to ceiling and was surrounded by all sides with small areas with a multitude of training equipment lined the half interiors. In one of which was something of interest. At the far end of the dojo was a large punching bag.
A young man, likely no older than me, was stood in front of it punching away and clearly trying to get anger out judging by the yells and grunts he was making. His face was covered by a blue hooded jacket that fit the description I'd been given by the informant. There was a high possibility that who I was looking at right now was none other than THE Jin Kazama!

I couldn't be certain though, so I activated my earpiece. There was a light beep signifying that it was active before I spoke into it. "HQ, this is Eagle reporting." I soon heard a response "Hearing you loud and clear Eagle, report."
I went on to explain "I may have eyes on the suspect. All sources in my investigation lead to this dojo in Brisbane. I've come across a man sparring here who also fits the description provided by my informant. What are my orders?"
The operator on the other end replied "Send your location to us and continue to observe. Do not engage the subject. I repeat to NOT engage the subject." I stated "Affirmative. Eagle signing off." I did just that, shutting off my earpiece.
My focus returned to the target still hammering away at the punch bag. I could practically feel the rage burning within him. Fitting for a Mishima. What happened next though managed to shock even me.
He landed a punch so hard, red electricity coated his fist. The punch bag went flying off its hinges colliding with a wooden pillar and crushing right through it. The man stood for a moment before suddenly saying.
"Quite hiding in the shadows and come face me head on you coward!" He turned around and looked directly at me. My eyes widened a bit however I soon regained my composure. I performed a flip and landed in the centre of the courtyard.
The man stepped forward, as his face was illuminated by the sun I found it was in fact Jin standing there. Even so I calmly stated "So, you heard my communication then? I'm impressed." Jin looked at me confused "I heard no communication, but I've grown used to people trying to kill me, I tuned my senses. I could feel you watching me, you tried to sneak up on the wrong person."
I nodded "Understandable." Jin's expression turned to one of anger again as he asked "Who sent you?! My grandfather?! I knew he'd track me down but I thought he'd at least come to face me himself."
I raised an eyebrow. "So, you are Jin Kazama then. No, I'm not affiliated with your grandfather in any way." Jin didn't calm down and now snapped "Well who are you then?!" I decided I'd at least tell him the none confidential stuff, he deserved that much given how he'd been the first person to sense me watching.
"My name is Eagle, who I work for is frankly no business of yours, just know that I'm not here to fight you." To that Jin snapped "Why is that? Tell me!" To that I bluntly responded "I don't need to explain. I have what I need."
That's when Jin entered a karate stance. In that moment he threatened "I'll give you one last chance to tell me what I want to know!" I entered my own combat stance and retorted "I don't have to explain anything to you."
In that moment, Jin rushed forward thrusting his fist out towards me. Once again I noticed red lightning build up around it. I raised my hand and managed to catch his incoming attack. I was surprised though just how much he put behind it.
My heartrate was skyrocketing as I tried my best to push his fist back. I complimented "You're strong Jin, as strong as I heard you were. Well done." I thought I'd have to go against my orders as the clash looked like it could escalate into a full-on brawl.
It never came to this as shortly afterwards I felt my earpiece buzzing. My eyes narrowed as my eyes and stated calmly "We'll deal with this later." I broke from our clash and flipped backwards for a moment before leaping onto the roof of the dojo.
Jin stared up at me in silence as I retreated away. He made no attempt to follow and soon disappeared from sight. Once I'd got far enough away, I turned the earpiece on and was instantly met with another operator.
"Eagle what the hell happened?! Your vitals shot through the roof!" I was trying to catch my breath, mainly from adrenaline at my sudden assault from an opponent who was actually around my level, maybe stronger!
Eventually, I composed myself "I had an encounter with the subject. I just about managed to get away but I fear the mission may be compromised." The Operator groaned to himself before saying "It probably is, now that Jin has caught you already there's a chance he'll be on his guard."
I defended "Hey, he seemed to sense me through no fault of my own." The Operator stated "It doesn't matter now. A new breakthrough has come about, a new mission that needs your immediate attention." I asked "What's that?" Only to be given another shocking task.
"Heihachi Mishima just announced the King of Iron Fist Tournament 4 to the world. We want you to enter it, reach the finals, defeat Heihachi and arrest him. Is that clear?" I just stood silent for a moment before eventually sighing "Easier said than done. But very well."
The communication was cut and I just remained still for a while. Placing my head in my hand, I sighed. Whenever one of these tournaments came up, they were always a hive for the Mishima's family drama. And now I'd been roped into it. And if Heihachi was there, that means Jin would probably show up to stop him.
I guess we would face-off after all...
Author's Note: And that's it for the first chapter of this book. Please comment and let me know what you thought. Sorry if it was disappointing that Y/N and Jin didn't fight, they will fight in the tournament and that should be an interesting one. I hope you enjoyed and as always, thank you for reading.
