Third Person POV
On their third night at Clark's flat, Dick woke Barbara up at 2.43am.
"What?! Where's the attack-oh, it's just you." She said sleepily. "Let me guess, you want to take me on some midnight romantic city jump." Dick blushed, but it was impossible to tell since the room was pretty much pitch black. They two could only see after working for a decade in the dark.
"Yeah, that pretty much covers it."
"Give me a sec." Barbara grabbed some black leggings and a black trench coat from her suitcase and disappeared for a moment into the bathroom, then grabbed some blacked out sunglasses.
"You don't need those."
"They let me see in the dark, x-ray, et cetera." She explained.
"Got a second pair?"
"At the cave, Boy Blunder. Where the scariest man on Earth forbade us to go." Barbara said this last part dramatically.
"Come on." He pulled the red-head to the window.
"So...you brought me to the Wayne building in Metropolis?" Barbara asked cautiously.
"Yeah. Now, come look at this." Dick pulled her right to the edge.
"It's even taller than the tower in Gotham!" She exclaimed.
"I know, you can even see the lights of Gotham from here, over there." He pointed to the horizon, where there was a few bright glimmering lights.
"And why did you bring me up here?" Dick took a deep breath.
"Um...I know we've had our...differences in the past."
"Yeah, like the one with Kori, the one with Zatanna, the one with the parallel universe, the-"
"I am aware of the 'differences'! Anyway, so, I love you, Babs, I always have."
"Except when you were with Kori, and Zatanna, and Helena, and the rest, so don't get all 'form the day I met you' sappy stuff. I was two years older than you, when we met."
"Way to kill the mood." Dick muttered. "Continuing on, my point is, I love you, and I want my future to include you." Barbara sighed, and Dick could tell she knew what was coming next. "So...will you marry me?"
"And put extra strain on the already tense relationship we have, with fighting crime, putting our lives on the line, faking our deaths and the like?" For a moment, Dick thought she would say no. "Ah, hell yes, Grayson!" He was about to kiss her, when there was slow clapping from the shadows.
"I knew you would sneak out." A small voice said.
"Damian?"
"I come here everyday anyway, as a representative for Father."
"You heard all of that?"
"Yes."
"And?"
"Well...it's taken you long enough."
