The Truth 14

The guards led Mr. Jacob to his seat, as they sat next to him. Before he sat down Mr. Jacob glanced over at us with a wicked smile. The room was getting full by now. The police officers shut the two wooden doors, meaning it was about to begin. We all stood up as the judge tapped her gavel.

"You may be seated," the judge announced.

"Halley and Bailey you may come up to the stand," the officer said, calling us both over.

"Now please tell me everything that happened from the beginning," the judge insisted.

"I will go first this time," Bailed said winking at me.

"Your honor, it all started when I met my twin Halley for the first time. You see, our family was broken apart when we were babies, since our parents could not afford us both. Our parents were in a lot of debt. Many years past and we saw each other on vacation. When our family was whole again, we started living together. One night Halley and I went to the graveyard. So my sister Halley could show me our Dad's parents who had passed away a few years ago. It was a special moment for me, since I never knew them. When we left the graveyard, we went straight home. As soon as we got out of the car, we were held at gun point and ordered by Mr. Jacob to do what the men said. They blind folded us and took us across the lake on a boat. We arrived at an old abandoned factory, and then they led us inside. They put us together in a jail-like-cell. They kept us there for almost a year. It was roughly ten or so months. We were so scared and did not know what to do." Bailey explained to the judge as she began to cry.

"So they forced you two to stay their with no food for ten months?" the judge asked.

"No ma'am, they fed us three meals a day. But we were never allowed to leave the cell, unless we were told to," I explained.

"And who were these people who fed you two and kidnapped you two? Were they the same people?" the judge asked.

"Mr. Jacob's sons, Ethan and Aiden, your honor," I replied.

"Are they here now?" the judge asked.

"Yes ma'am your honor," Bailey replied.

"Did they torture or harm either one of you, while you were held their?" The judge asked looking at Mr. Jacob.

"No your honor, we were never harmed," I replied.

"And how did you two escape?" She asked.

"Well you see Ethan and Aiden offered to help us escape, they wanted to get away as much as we did. So one day, they unlocked the doors for us and we took off running. Well when we had almost reached the boat, there were laser sights on Ethan, someone was about to kill him. We were so scared, so my sister and I took off running in the woods. The next day, Aiden found us and told us we were leaving the next day. So we prepared ourselves for the journey. The next day we took off to the boat, as we were getting in the boat, Mr. Jacob came running at us with a gun. We were about to take off, when Mr. Jacob shot his own son in his stomach," I explained.

"Do you have proof of him being shot?" the judge asked.

"Yes ma'am we do," Bailey said handing the papers to the officer.

"Wow. So the bullet was strong enough to go straight through him," the judge stated.

"Mr. Jacob the gun you used, is it in your name?" the judge asked.

"No it's not your honor," Mr. Jacob replied.

"So you stole a gun? Who were you planning to shoot Mr. Jacob?" She asked him.

"I was planning to shoot my brother. He is the one who ruined my life, so I was going to ruin his," he explained.

Everyone in the room, including the jury, all let out a gasp. And then the room went quiet.

"Ethan and Aiden, you may come up to the witness stand," the officer announced.

Halley and Bailey nodded as they switched spots with Ethan and Aiden.

"So your the sons of Mr. Jacob right?" She asked looking over at the brothers.

"Yes ma'am we are," Ethan replied.

"Did your Father force you to kidnap them girls?" She asked them.

"Your honor, my brother and I were held at gun point by our Father," Aiden explained.

"Did you think your Dad would of hurt you two if you did not?"the judge asked.

" I do not want to believe that he would, but deep down I know he would, if he has pushed enough," Ethan answered.

"Was you or your brother aware of your Father's plans?" the judge questioned Ethan.

"No your honor we was not aware until he asked with a gun pointed at us," Ethan exclaimed.

"Is there any important information I should know about?" She asked.

"My Dad and Mom was together before our Mom passed away. Our Mother would run to our Uncle Luke for answers. Our Dad would get drunk and hit our Mom. She did not know what to do. One night they went to a bar and had a few beers. Well my Mom wanted to drive, but she told Luke she was sober enough. So he let her drive. They were going around a curve and a drunk driver was coming in their lane. Mom swerved and hit a tree. Our Mom died in the accident and Uncle Luke had a broken arm. Uncle Luke was not to blame for this, that was his sister-in-law. He mourned after she past." Aiden explained to the judge.

The jury and audience all let out another gasps and the room went quiet. The judge was a tough one, but you could tell our case was touching to her. My heart was about to beat out of my chest. The police officers gestured for the brothers to take their seats. The judge went into a room behind her desk, the jury left, and they took Mr. Jacob back. They were going to discuss his time and crimes. Considering he almost killed his son and he planned to kill our Dad.
