Chapter Twenty-two: Flashback
This Flashback is the one showing when Levenil first saw Thranduil's face without the magical cloak to cover his burn scars.
Imma start posting Flashbacks as their own chapters so I have room for the actual chapter. Make sense?

Levenil had finished going on Patrol and walked to the King's room to tell him about a new threat that had been crossing into their borders for a while now. But they were getting worse, being seen more frequently and in bigger clusters.
She reached his room and knocked twice before walking in and bowing her head to show respect. She was about to say something when Thranduil spoke,
"Do I scare you?" He asked, she could sense him behind her.
"N-No, my King." She said. Mentally slapping herself for stuttering.
"Then why did you stutter?" He asked as her walked to the side of her.
"It has been a long night, my King. I stutter when tired." It was half true. She did stutter when tired, but she wasn't tired. He walked to stand in front of her.
He studied her for a long while,
"You have grown into a beautiful young lady, Levenil. Your parents would be proud." He finally said after a few moments of silence. Her face turned red, she was glad only one candle was lit and her head was bowed.
"Th-Thank you, my King... but I'm not that beautiful." She mumbled the last part.
"I beg to differ." He replied. Levenil wondered why he was being this way. Normally he would want to know why someone was coming to his room at night and then want them out.
She lifted her head and her breath caught in her throat. She could see in the dark very well and she could see his face clearly. The left side of his face was scarred, it appeared to be from burns that were now healed. He lifted his head when he saw her look up at him.
"Now you see who your King really is. A monster." He said and turned to walk to his window where the moonlight shown through, also filling the room with some light.
"You're not a monster because of the scares, my King." She said and walked to him.
"Really? Because I've showed this-" He waved his hand at his face, "-to people. They just look at me and walk away. I am a monster." She sighed, gathering courage to say what she has been wanting to say for years now.
"My King, a monster is someone who kills without remorse and cares for no one. You are not a monster. I know people you have killed on the battlefield in the past still haunt you in your sleep, I know you love your son dearly, yet show it little if not at all. Yes, some decisions you make are questionable, but I know deep down you make them for the better of the Kingdom. You are not a monster nor am I as beautiful as you think." She said. That wasn't what she's been wantin to say all these years and she mentally slapped herself for not saying it. She chewed on her lip as Thranduil stayed silent and looked down at his folded hands. For some reason he was smiling some,
"This is why I love you." He said, barely above a whisper, but she heard it. Oh Levenil heard it all right.
"M-My King?" She stammered, still not sure if she heard correctly, he had said what she had been meaning to say for years. Thranduil rose his head and turned to look at her, he took a step towards her and tucked a strand of her multicolored hair behind her ear.
"I said that I love you, Levenil." He said softly and moved his hand from her ear to caress her freckled cheek with the back of his hand. Her face turned a dark red and it reached her ears.
"I-I don't u-understand, my King..." She said, still stammering. She still wasn't believing her own ears. Thranduil tilted his head,
"Its appeared you were lying to me when you said you stuttered when tired. That will be dealt with later. First, it seems, you need to understand what I am saying." He stated, she just nodded slightly. Thranduil bent down to her height and captured her lips within his, the kiss was soft and slow, yet fiery and passionate.
(I think that's the same thing, oh well)
She moved her hands to his chest and gripped his tunic, she felt lightheaded and slightly dizzy. She finally pulled back for air and rested her forehead on his chest, they both panted. She shivered when she felt his warm breath against her ear,
"Now it is time to deal with that laying of yours." He whispered huskily against her pointed ear. He pinned her against the wall and kissed her rougher this time, she moaned into the kiss and her eyes closed when he gripped the underside of her thighs.
The Kingdom learned later that night what happens to the Executive Officer of the Guard when she lies to the Great Elvenking of Mirkwood.
