Over the next few days , I got over my flu and helped mom out with her flowershop.

Then after, I'd practice my mana flow. I'd gradually use my mana on the plants and they'd become beautiful.

I also used my mana in rescuing cats from trees and many more stuff.

However it all backfired one day. I went a bit too far and my body got overwhelmed resulting in an explosion which blew off the house roof and me passing out.

I don't know how many more days passed, but I woke up in the hospital. I felt sore all over.

Mom was startled awake and she hugged me.

"Never forget, it doesn't matter who you are, you're still my daughter. Just be careful!"

This woman. How strange. I mentally around her age, if not older. Yet I'm glad she's my mother. I didn't know my real parents after all.

"What about our house?!" I asked sitting up, then wincing.

"It's being fixed. Don't worry"

I felt relieved.

Both of us burst out crying and I held her tighter. After being fed via a tube, I fell asleep.

The next day they performed a surgery and said it'd take half the month for me to heal. I reluctantly caved in, but continued to train my mana while I could.

I wipe up again to see Anthony by my side. I struggled but managed to sit up. "What about your vacation?!"

He gently pushed me down."You're more important Adeline"

I smiled and hugged him. "So how was the bit of vacation you had?"

He shrugged. "Pretty relaxing! So speaking of which Adeline, I got you a present"

My curiosity was peaked and I closed my eyes.

Feeling something cool on my neck, I looked in awe to see a beautiful necklace. Awww.

"Thankyou Anthony"

"No problem. Now I'm going to buy us some lunch. Pretty sure you're well enough to eat, and the hospital food ain't it"

I laugh and wince, but waved him off.

While he was gone, I went on a walk. The sky was bright and there was a slight cool breeze.

But it was ruined when I saw an elder being harassed by someone.

"Hey" I shouted! The person startled dropped their knife and tried to run, but I put on a burst of wind and tackled them.

I knocked them and rendered them temporarily immobile. I walked up to the old man and asked if he was OK. He nodded and thanked me. I pulled him up.

As we were both talking his eyes widened in horror. "Behind you!"

I turned and froze as I saw the person charge at me!

I closed my eyes, but the pain never came.

I slowly opened my eyes to see Anthony. Relieved I thanked him.

He turned looking angry. "Just what is wrong with you?! Why can't you stay out of trouble?"

I found myself shouting back. "Because this old man needed help, I just couldn't just watch!Why do you care so much, we haven't known each other for long. And I'm fake!"

He threw his hands up exasperated. "Because I love you!"

Aah so I was right. But why?

"Give me some time" I said softly, feeling my anger disappear. He nodded and then called the hospital security.

"I'm sorry" he whispered and then wiped away my tears. He hugged me and I coyldve stayed like that forever under the stars.

I colkected myself, nodded and said it was OK.

We both turned to the old man to make sure he was alright. I was relieved when he said he wouldn't tell a soul. I could tell he was truthful.

And so my rather chaotic day ended rather peacefully after all that. With me eating lunch with Anthony and the old man.

And Anthony leaving. But not before constantly flirting. Not that I hated it.
