Let's have a refresher on the categories and rules.

Rules

These awards are all about the members of Dreamland. Both the person nominating a book, and the author of the book being nominated, must be a member of Dreamland. Being a member means either being in one of the bookclubs or being a part of the Discord server. We will be checking. If you're not a member, don't despair, you're welcome to join Dreamland today!

The nominated work must be in English.

The story must have 5 or more chapters.

If you won last year, you may not enter the same book.

You may enter more than one work per category, but you cannot enter the same work in multiple categories

For example, Jane and Bob can both enter Marnie's book Butter Head into category A, but Jane cannot enter Marnie's book Butter Head into both category A and B. However, Jane may enter two of Marnie's books into the same category as well as a book from another author.

If a book has already been entered into a category, it can be entered again by another person. Yes, this will matter, having multiple entries of the same book will make a difference in the early rounds. So don't be shy, nominate away.

5. The categories are not separated by each genre, rather they are separated into small groups containing potential genres. These will be posted on the entry chapter so keep an eye out for that.

6. It is very slightly possible for one work to win more than one, though we will take into account which category it fits best in and try to keep the chances as fair as possible.

7. Please leave 5 comments on the judges chapter that you read. Do not read until your form has been accepted. Don't pre-read, just wait. We will tag you when you're good to go,

Categories

Dream Walking
This is the category for stories that focus on everyday life -- present or past-- and the characters that experience it. Possible genres include: General Fiction, Historical Fiction, Non-Fiction, potentially Humor.

A Kiss Goodnight
This is the category for stories that have a primary focus on a romance between characters. Possible genres include: Teen Fiction, Romance, Chicklit, potentially Humor.

Chasing Dreams
This is the category for books focused on getting your blood pumping as characters race around and potentially do battle with the occasional foe, or do their best to escape a looming villain. Potential genres include: Action, Adventure, Mystery/Thriller. NOT A FANTASY BACK-UP! Please do not enter Fantasy stories here.

The Boogie Man Plays
This is the category for those stories that will make your skin crawl and your paranoia soar. Possible genres include: Horror, Mystery/Thriller.

Dreams Come True
The fantastical intermingles with everyday life, becoming something both familiar and something entirely new. Possible genres include: Real world/Present Day Fantasy, light Sci-Fi (present day, just a bit of sci-fi mixed in), Werewolf, Vampire, Paranormal.

Lands of Dreams
Now we dive into worlds unlike our own, either completely made up or the world we know but unrecognizable. Either way, you had to build this world from almost nothing, and now your characters and plot explore it. Possible genres include: High Fantasy, Sci-Fi.

This should ensure that no one reads for a judge who may be closed as sometimes Wattpad does not update quickly enough.

The judges books for reading will be listed below. Keep an eye on this section as we will be closing judges to spread the reads as evenly as possible. We'll close the judge out when they get to five reads and reopen them when everyone has had five. If there is an ❌ or closed written beside the judges name and book, do not read for them until that note is gone.
