The Dream I Deserved Short Story

14:56, location: unknown
I met the mad man today. I met him and he is certainly mad. But I didn't just meet him. I met both of him. The tenth. And the eleventh. I saw them. We all did. Me, Jack, Amy, and Rose. We met both Doctors. At the same time. We were lost. Wandering around some building. Was it even a building? We were on an island. We didn't know how we got there. We were just wandering. When we opened one door, there they were. Just standing there, analyzing things with their Sonic Screwdrivers. Ten was the first to see us.
"No no no! You can't be here!" He yelled.
"What's all the shouting about?" Eleven asked, his back facing us.
"Who are you guys?" I asked, holding an arm out to stop my friends from getting any closer to them.
"What do you mean who are we? We dropped you off at home not three days ago!" Ten yelled. Eleven spun around.
"The blasted blast made them forget us." Eleven said, taking a step closer. I took a step back.
"This is what we get for creating a paradox!" Ten yelled.
"Stop shouting!" I yelled back.
"Well the universe fixed itself by making them forget us." Eleven said, grumbling. "Look you don't know us, but we know you. We are all close friends, you just don't remember. I'm going to have to ask you to do the impossible, trust us."
"How are supposed to trust you if we don't know your names?" Jack asked.
"Oh yes, well, I'm the Doctor, and so is he." Said Ten.
"What?" Amy asked.
"Oh hello Amelia!" Eleven shouted, before hushing himself and continuing with his Screwdriver.
"Yup. But for reference, you can call me Ten, or Tenny, I like Tenny. And him, Eleven." Ten explained.
"Prove to us you know us. Tell us our names." Rose called.
"Well I'll tell you which are mine. Rose Tyler, it's been so long. It's nice to see you again. And Captain Jack Harkness, hello again. And the rest are yours, other me." Ten explained. Eleven chimed up.
"Well, there's Amelia. Hello, Pond! Amy, where is Rory?"
"I don't know where my husband is. He wasn't with us when we woke up." Amy said.
"I see. Oh and (f/n)! My (f/n)! How are you? You're my current companion. You were there when all this started. Then you were gone and you nearly gave me a heart attack. Me and him were accidentally in the same place, so next thing I know all of you are here, then there was a boom and you all were gone. Don't scare me like that!" Eleven yelled.
"I'm your companion? In what? Why is it so bad if you're in the same place? I'm so lost." I said, a headache forming.
"Right, yes. Well I can explain later. Right now you all have to run and hide. There is something, a robot if you will, on loose and if it finds you, it will destroy you. Like hide and seek! But on a deathly scale. So go! It knows you're here! Now run! Don't get found no matter what! And whatever you do, don't hide in the same spot as someone else! GO!" Eleven yelled. Everyone ran away, but Ten and Eleven didn't move. I paused at the doorway.
"What about you guys?!" I yelled.
"I said GO!" He screamed back. I angrily slammed my fist on the door way and ran away. I could just barely hear a faint little girl voice counting.
"Three.......Four......Five......Six.....Seven...." It counted. I yelped and ducked into a nearby closet. Just before I closed the door I saw Jack peering out of a wardrobe far away from the closet. I slammed the door and leaned against it. I panted, gripping my (h/c) hair, trying to calm myself.
"Nine........Ten........ Ready or not. Here I come....." It said, sending chills down my spine. I suddenly thought to myself, 'B*tch forgot 11.'
I placed my shaking hand over my mouth. I heard it's foot steps walk in front of the closet. I trembled. It knocked lightly on the door. I froze, wanting to cry. "I found you........ Come out....... (f/n, l/n)......... Out you come....... I found you......" It repeated. A tear ran down my cheek. It suddenly slammed it's body against the door, forcing the frame to snap. The door opened half way before I slammed my back against it, forcing it shut. An image flashed through my head. I'd done this before. With the Eleventh Doctor. I'd done the same thing. I was under attack by a cyberman last time I did this. I'm his companion. We've been best friends for over a year. I'm in love with him. I remember.
It slammed against the door again and I managed to shut it once more.
"Very well........ I'll be right back, (f/n, l/n)......... Don't go anywhere........" I heard it turn to walk away. "(f/n, l/n)........... (f/n, l/n)......... (f/n, l/n)......." It chanted walking away. Once it's chanting vanished I ran out of the closet and back into the room with the Doctors. They froze and turned to stare at me.
"(f/n)! What are you doing?! I told you to run!" My Doctor asked. My Doctor.
"It found me! Then I remembered and then it left telling me not to go anywhere!" I screamed pacing.
"It found you?!" Ten asked.
"You remembered?!" My Doctor asked.
"Yes! Doctor, how the hell did we get to this place?!" I asked. Instead of answering me, he hugged me.
"I thought you would never remember..." He said, burrowing his face in my hair.
"You know me better than that." I said. I turned to Ten. "How did we end up here?"
"Well we caused a paradox. It scrambled up my timeline. And his, you know. It brought people from our past, present and future all into one spot. Rose is from our past. Amy is from my future and his past. You're my future and his present. Jack is from our present. Then the universe fixed it, like an auto-correct. To do that it sent all the companions away, to here. But it left me and him together. So we followed the signs of you guys and ended up here. We went to this part of the island, the most dangerous part, to figure out why you were sent here. You guys just happened to end up here as well. Good job." He explained, rubbing his head. My Doctor released me.
"That about sums it up. You have to go. Hide in a different spot. You aren't safe here." He said.
"Neither are you!" I yelled in protest. He placed a kiss on my forehead.
"I'll join you soon. We just have to do something." He said.
"What kind of something?"
"Whatever kind of something it takes to get you mates home safe."
"I'm not going home anytime soon." I said crossing my arms over my chest.
"Why not?" He yelled.
"Because; you're my Doctor and you still have to take me on more adventures." I told him a matter-of-factly.
"Well, this just proves that I can't take care of you." My Doctor said, coming close to me and placing his chin on the top of my head, so my eyes were staring at his neck. I shoved him away.
"I'm not a lost puppy! I can handle myself and you can just give me away!" I yelled, angrily pinning my arms to my sides in defiance.
"I know that-" He said, rubbing his hand behind his neck. "Trust me, I know that. But that doesn't mean I'm going to keep you in dangerous... environments."
"You mean in dangerous company! You blame yourself, you know you do! So go ahead, punish yourself, but don't bring me into your punishment!" I yelled.
"Quite the sympathetic companion we got there." Ten said sarcastically.
"That's just the way she is. And I'm trying to make her understand! (f/n), you are my punishment! Sending you away is the cruelest punishment any humanoid can endure! What other punishment works again and again? Sending companions away hurts beyond belief! But I deserve it when I put them in danger. It's what has to happen." He said, walking about, waving his sonic screwdriver around. I snapped. Practically growling, I ran over, grabbing him by the bowtie and pinning him to the wall.
"How can you think like that?! How could you send us all away under any circumstance?! Pain is meant for the brain to indicate something is wrong! So if you're feeling pain beyond belief, you're supposed to stop! You need to stop-" I noticed slowly that tears were forming in my eyes and soon were flooding out. The Doctor stayed silent, thinking about all I was saying. "How can you just throw me out?! I thought you cared!" I screamed, banging my fists against his chest. "How could you... say... that you want me gone...?" I asked, weakening in his arms. He pulled me closer, resting his chin on my head. I sobbed into his neck for a while, with him whispering things in my ear in a beautiful language I didn't understand. Ten smiled warmly at whatever my Doctor was saying to me. Then he returned to english.
"Trust me-" He started.
"If you finish that with, 'I'm the Doctor', I will kill you." I chimed in with hiccuping breath. Ten scoffed.
"Trust me... I'm the Doctor." He said with a smirk.
"F*** you." I said, staring at my feet. My Doctor laughed.
"I don't want you to go." He said, smiling down at me. "I want you to stay more than you'll ever realize."
"Then let me." I grumbled. He smiled, kissing me on the head.
"Survive this, and you count on it." My Doctor said. "Now go hide. I'll come find you and hide with you later."
"But... you just said we can't hide with each other." I protested.
"I can keep you safe."
"Promise you won't leave me here?"
"You know me better than that. Now go!" With his words I ran out of the room.
As I passed the closet I had hidden in before, I noticed something on the wall inside the small room. Creeping toward it, I realized it was a button. Shrugging, I slammed my fist onto it. The wall came unhinged and slid open to reveal a short room, but slightly longer than the closet. I shut the closet door behind me and slid into the secret chamber. Another button on that wall. Sighing, I pressed it as well. A door opened on the side wall and revealed and short room at was right next to the room I was in now. It was so short I had to kneel on one knee to fit. The ceiling was slanted as if I was under a staircase and the walls were painted a pale blue. The room was lit but I couldn't place how.
The door slowly shut behind me and I slumped onto the ground in a criss-cross position. I let my head rest against the wall behind me as I counted the seconds.
Several minutes later, I heard the robot girl's voice once more.
"(f/n, l/n).... (f/n, l/n).... Where did you go? .... (f/n, l/n)...." She chanted. I heard a door open, then close. "I told you not to go anywhere.... (f/n, l/n)...." Her voice was the same, but I could here it was more demonic. I hunkered up against the wall. When I was sure she was gone, I whispered under my breath.
"Missed me, b****." I hissed. I heard a door open. The first door out of three that led to my hiding spot. The next one opened. One more door and I would be found. The final door opened and my Doctor came into view. I opened my mouth to yell at him, but he hushed me and pulled out his screwdriver. He pointed it at the door and pressed it, shutting all the doors at once.
"You were saying?"
"You scared me!" I yelled. He hunched over and squatted in the small space. There was a foot or two in between us but I could still feel his warmth.
"Hello to you too." He said, smiling. I reached out my hand, signaling for him to put his screwdriver in so I could toy with it, like I usually do in stressful situations like these. Instead he placed his hand in mine. My face lit up bright red. "I'm glad you remembered me."
"H-how can I not? You're like a virus to my brain. You infect all my thoughts." I stuttered, staring at the floor. He smiled, giving my hand a small tug.
The girl's voice plagued the moment as she returned for a third time.
"Where did you go? .... Where are~ you? .... Come out, come out...."
"Son of a-" I was cut off by the Doctor sighing. A door opened. Then a second one. She was getting closer.
"Looks like we're going to die. Any last requests?" He asked.
"Besides living?" I thought for a moment. Scoffing, I almost laughed. "Kiss me. I've never kissed anyone, let alone-" It was meant to be a joke, something I wanted but would never ask for in a serious manner. But he did. He kissed me, without any hesitation. Gently, and perfectly. His hand lightly placed on my cheek. But somehow, it was like he wanted to kiss me. Like it wasn't just a dying request. My first kiss ever, was with my Doctor. And God, was I glad it was him. His lips were warm. So unbelievably warm. And soft. I never expected him to be soft. My eyes were wide with shock. But he was just too warm, and after a few seconds, I had melted in his arms. One of my hands entangled in his hair, the other loosely wrapped around his wrist.
He slowly pulled away and dragged his eyes up to mine, searching them for my reaction. I looked up at him, the truth pouring out of my pupils. Too bad he couldn't tell.
"You kissed me..." I said, my voice quiet.
"You kissed me back..." His voice was possibly even quieter than my own. But within a moment he was just as loud as before. "And besides! You asked me to!"
"I wasn't serious!" I yelled back at him, as we separated.
"...Oh." He said surprised. "Then why, dear (F/n), did you kiss me back?"
"God, you're daft!" I yelled. The Doctor's next witty response was interrupted by a loud bang that sounded on the other side of the door. We both flinched and spun toward it. "What was that?!" I screamed. Another bang.
"Uh, uhm, if I'm right, the robot, come to kill us both." He said, glancing back at me. Another bang.
"Why doesn't it just use the button?!"
"It's cross! Things that are cross tend to miss the obvious!"
"How can it be cross?! It's a robot!" Yet another bang.
"I DON'T KNOW!" He screamed. The door was burst off of it's hinges, and slammed onto the floor. In stepped a small girl, it's long platinum hair, messy and wild. It had a porcelain, white, face and wore a long white cloak to hide the rest of it's mechanics. It's eyes, the same material as car lights, glowing a bright red.
"What the hell is that?!" I screamed, moving behind him.
"The robot! Haven't you been paying attention?!" He yelled, pulling out his screwdriver. He pointed it at the machine and pressed the magic button. Sparks flew off of its body, burning it's cloak to dust, revealing its machine exo-skeleton. It's porcelain face melted, showing the clock work behind it. All it's hair burned off, leaving nothing but a dying hunk of murderous metal behind. It clashed to the floor, the light in it's robotic eyes, leaked out. I let out a sigh of relief then turned to the Doctor.
"Why didn't you just do that before?!" I yelled. He turned toward me, a beyond surprised expression on his face.
"I didn't know I could!" He said, running his hand through his wave of hair. I laughed at him and crawled out of the small space.

Hours later we were sitting in the T.A.R.D.I.S. Everyone had gone back to their right times and it was just me and my Doctor. He was sitting on the bench in the main console room, reading a book, silently for once. I was laying on a separate bench, staring up at the wires of the T.A.R.D.I.S. I couldn't get the kiss out of my mind. It didn't seem to bother him. Or maybe I was wrong. I glanced over at him and caught his gaze. I smiled and so did he.
"You were staring, weren't you?" I teased, sitting up and facing him.
"I was not! Just thinking." He said, putting his book down and pulling off his glasses.
"About what?" I smiled. He crossed his legs and arms and stared at the console.
"The kiss." He said. My heart froze. "I mean, I know it was just a dying request. But I can't place why, of all things, you would ask for that."
"Well, TimeLord, I thought I was going to die and I'd never kissed anyone before."
"What?! Never? Not even once? But you're 24 years old! And very pretty I might add." He said. I laughed.
"Thanks, TimeLord. But I'm glad you were my first kiss." I said, smiling.
"And why's that?" He asked.
"'Cause you're damn good at it. Over a thousand years of practice must help." I laughed. He smiled warmly at me.
"I could still go with more practice if you ask me." He rose from his chair and sat down next to me. I turned my body toward him and sat criss-cross.
"I don't see how. But then again I only got a small sample." I laughed as I spoke, not believing my own words. I felt his large, warm hand, gently cup my cheek. I placed my own small hand over his, not noticing he was leaning in closer to me. I froze when his lips landed on mine.
THE END
