A YouTube career can be unpredictable. You could be on top of the world one minute, and it could all come crashing down just as fast. 

It all began one cloudy day in a quiet Harrisburg neighborhood. 25-year-old YouTuber Madison Greenwood prepared to film her weekly vlog. Ever since starting her YouTube career two years ago, she had gained around 10,000 subscribers. Madison's typical topics of discussion were DIY projects, recipes, and beauty tips. Today, though, was different. 

Once she finished setting up filming in her living room, Madison started her intro.

"Good morning, everybody! This is Madison Greenwood here. I have exciting news. I'm going to - wait for it - VidCon! I will be moderating a panel, and it's the first time I'll be doing something like this."

She went on to explain how she got chosen for the panel as well as her duties as a moderator. The video lasted about ten minutes, and Madison uploaded it to her channel the next day after doing some edits. Overall, the reaction was positive. Some of Madison's subscribers stated that they would be in the audience. 

However, one comment in particular stuck out like a sore thumb.

A user named everythingparanormal95 said, "2:51 Did you notice the face on the picture appear then disappear?"

At first, Madison thought this was a troll. The picture above the fireplace was of a lone willow tree in a grassy field under a blue sky. No face could possibly be found. Still, she felt an instinct to look. Madison went to the 2 minute, 51 second mark in the vlog, but she could not see anything out of the ordinary. Then, she got the idea to put the video on 0.25x speed. 

This time, something flickered in the painting's sky. It was blurry, but Madison could still see what looked like the outline of a face. The image also appeared to have long hair. While she stared at the screen, she began to feel unsettled. Could there perhaps be a glitch in the upload, or something else entirely?
