Cana Pov

I sat in the guildhall on one of the tables with a bottle in hand drinking it. Y/n has been gone for three days on the mission with my father. Worry was eating me from the inside. Why was he going with him on an SS class mission when we don't even know how strong he is, he should have at least fought against one of the more capable wizards in our guild to see how strong he is. "Cana is everything alright, you've barely taking a sip?" A female voice asked and I turned to her smiling softly. "I'm fine Mirajane I promise." I replied and turned my head away again towards the door. "I'm more curious about why Erza has lately stopped to go on so many missions like she usually had done, and I'm almost certain she's now looking far more after her hair, it looks smooth like silk." I said and Mira smiled at me while cleaning the table. "She's combing it everyday now and she's waiting for Jellal to come again, the magic council is sending him around all over the place and are you sure everything is fine with you?" She asked and narrowed her eyes on me. "I'm almost certain you are waiting for Y/n to come back and he's been on your mind." She said with a smirk tugging on her lips. 

I let out a scoff. "Its really not like that." I replied annoyed and she kept her usual smile. "She likes him." A blue exceed yelled and I felt my cheeks flush. "You are annoying happy." I snarled and he laughed into his paw while flying away.

On the back of the guild I saw a small brawl happen but I ignored it still keeping my face to the door. A sudden bell ringing made me perk up and look at the door. The bells kept going and the longer they took the more I knew it was going to happen. The armor clacking of Erza's breastplate made look at her from the corner of my eyes. She had a small smile on her. "Looks like your time of waiting for the prince is finally over." She teased me and I just smiled at her. "Tease me all you want Erza there's nothing between me and him." I replied and she giggled softly. "You may not be aware of it Cana but outsiders often notice what you aren't and I'm just saying it was the same as me and Jellal, I've denied it but turned to accept so should you." She replied and waited at next to me.

The warning system of the Gildart shift started to sound and the town began to split into two as I looked out the window I could see the trio walk the path to the guild and I could practically see the astonished face on Y/n as he walked to the guild with Bill holding onto him. When I looked at him I could feel warmth in my chest but I don't know why.

Just his mere smile alone was causing a strange giddy feeling inside of me, the first time he laid eyes on me I've seen his, such a deep intense color that I've never seen somewhere else, his perfectly cut V shape abs and chiseled chin made him even hotter then he already was and I got a full few of it right after knowing him. "Cana are you alright you seem spaced out, did you think about Y/n." A voice asked and snapped her fingers in front of me.

Heat infiltrated my cheeks as I turned to the person revealing it was Erza who still waited with me here. "No I haven't." I shot back quickly and she just grinned at me smugly.

The door of the guild opened and it revealed Gildarts followed by Y/n and Bill. "Hey dad, Y/n, Bill, how was the job." I asked and headed for them, stopping them right at the door. Y/n gazed up to me and smiled. "It was great and went well, we  fought against some undead and even a dragon, turns out some long dead dark mage somehow had his magic control the dead in the crypt." He replied and I gave him a shocked look. "Wait a dragon? I need to show you something" I stated and took hold of his hand pulling him to the table and Gildarts followed.

I pulled the map out of the protective cardboard. "Here, this map had both of those places marked which we had our request on and you can call me crazy but I think this map shows burials of dragons from the long forgotten kingdom of Dragnof, maybe we can find clues with this to why we had two jobs doing with this." I spoke in excitement and Y/n placed his hand on mine gently grabbing it.

"Cana, the dragon I fought told me he knew the dragon who raised me, I want to find her at all costs and if you would join me on my mission I'd be glad." He spoke calmly with a deep sinful voice with a slight husky undertone and stared right into my eyes. I couldn't hold his intense stare and adverted my eyes of him. I knew it was not polite but I couldn't keep that fiery eye lock.

My heart skipped a beat when he asked me to join him on this mission. "Of course, we are a team so I'm going on any adventure you will go on Y/n." I replied and gazed back at him happily.

He gave me a toothy grin. "All right, lets go and make another mission, I'm all chilled out." He said and pulled me with him towards the request board. A hearty laugh from Erza made me look at her in wonder. "This reminds me of Natsu and Lucy." She happily said with her arms crossed.

He looked at the board intently but soon slouched down in defeat. "Man this sucks, there isn't a single good one here." He whined and I placed an arm around him. "Heads up Y/n, we can always team up with someone else who's an S class to go on a mission. There is always my dad to get a free S class pass. " I stated.

"Cana would you and Y/n come here." Master Makarov ordered us. He took a sip from his mug while we quickly got to him. "There's something urgent I want you to do." He spoke with a serious tone looking at us. "And what Master?" I asked and he looked past us into the distance. "One of our members hasn't come back from a request and I'm worried something happened, I want you two to go to the place the request was and take Wendy with you, she might be needed." He spoke and I interjected it by shaking my head. "Why do you want to make us go master, aren't there others you could send." I replied and he shook his head negatively.

"I wanted to send Erza but she refused saying she couldn't go and Laxus is on a mission, Natsu, Lucy, Gray and Juvia are out too and Gajeel well he wont  back away from Levy  for  a second, so you are the last I can ask to accompany Wendy to the request." He replied and I let out a small defeated sigh. "I understand master, which request was it?" I asked and he pulled out a copy of it. "The one on Mt.Hakobe to subdue a bunch of bandits, its an S class job since they are reported to use forbidden magic." He replied and I took the request reading it. "Fine we go." I said and Makarov called Wendy over.

"Y/n this is Wendy Marvell, she's our youngest dragon slayer and healer of our guild." He spoke and she bowed lightly. "I'm Wendy Marvell its nice to meet you and this is Carla." She exclaimed and I smiled at her. "I'm Y/n. Förfrysning Silvia. Its nice to meet you Wendy and this is Bill." Y/n said and she smiled up at him.

Y/n Pov

A snowy blizzard took most of the view away as we stepped out of the carriage with Wendy who was shivering despite having a thick coat on. She left Carla in the guild saying we will be back soon. "I'm going to freeze my butt of out here." Cana whined and took a swig of her liquor bottle. "Now its getting warmer." She added and placed it back in her purse.

"From what we know the hideout of those bandits and job request is supposed to be around here and not even far." I stated and Bill grabbed the flyer looking at it. "The coordinates point to around here." She spoke and pointed right in front.

Cana walked up right next to me. "If I remember it right there used to be a castle here that was abandoned a few decades ago, that's probably where the request is and it should be right up ahead." Cana exclaimed and walked forward.

Soon we reached the castle that was completely covered in ice, only the windows and the main entrance were open, the defense position on top of the wall was completely encased in ice. "Am I the only one who's feeling an extreme amount of powerful magic." I asked and Cana shook her head. "No I'm feeling it too but there is something way of with this place." She said and Wendy nodded. "Yes something isn't right about this lets go inside." She exclaimed and we pushed the wooden doors open.

Once we got on the inside of the inner courtyard we could only look in shock at what happened, everything was bloody like someone had painted parts of the place and others were like it exploded. "What the hell happened here." I said in shock and Bill was trembling too.

Wendy walked further determined towards a door and I stopped her. "What are you doing?" I asked and she looked at me calmly. "I can feel were we need to go its behind this door to the main room of this castle." She said and pointed to it.

I had an eerie feeling about this but decided to shake it away and open the door, once inside we saw several people on the ground and some toads jumping around. On the far back I could notice the throne and on top of it sat someone with one leg over the other. The first thing I noticed was the persons smile, it was unsettling and beautiful at the same time. "At least I'll be having my fun now." A female voice spoke and raised her hand making the whole room lit up.

The moment the lights went off I could see on Cana's and Wendy's face, the look of pure shock as a woman with scarlet waist length free flowing hair brown eyes, a curvy and lush chest with wide hips now rose on her feet from a throne. She wore a silver chest plate armored gauntlets with plated long boots a blue skirt and right on her right side was a staff leaning against the wall. She was emitting pure power and magic force like I've never felt, only Gildarts was able to have such an amount of magic. The woman raised her hand and gave us a mad grin.

Cana wanted to say something to me but the second she did we all were knocked of our feet by a magic explosion in front.

I looked towards Wendy who had a serious look on her. "Y/n we need to beat Irene-san, she went insane right now." Wendy spoke and I heard a maniacal chuckle. "Wendy dearest, haven't you learned that fights are only for adult, little children like you should be playing tag." The woman now known as Irene spoke while slowly walking towards us with her staff dangling at her fingers.

Cana stood up too now. "Y/n be careful, she's one if not the most skilled wizards and can beat you in an instant." Cana spoke and Wendy nodded. "She's basically a walking cheat code." Wendy exclaimed.

"Now now then, I'm flattered that you Wendy came here and brought someone interesting with you." She spoke and took a deep breath. "A dragon slayer, how interesting and of course Cana the daughter of Gildarts Clive the one who stood against August, that old fool could have gotten vaporized by Natsu if Fairy Tail knew August could not copy dragon slayer magic that is why I'm the strongest of the spriggans, I only gave him to top spot since he had more knowledge then me about magic." She spoke and raised her hand making a somewhat transparent orb appear in her hand which had different lights in it like a rainbow. "Now lets make it more even." She chuckled softly and several of the defeated bandits stood up, their eyes shone reddish. "We will serve you mistress." They spoke and darted towards us. 

Cana threw a bunch of her cards at them making them go blind as a bright light flashed. "I'll handle them you take care of her, if she's down those guys will be too." She spoke and I nodded running in front towards her.

I went for a low hit as she seemed to have her guard open, right before I hit her I was kicked in the side by her, sending me into the wall. "Y/n, she's way above our level if we want to beat her we need to think ahead of her." Wendy yelled and Irene merely laughed. "Coordinated attacks wont help against a battle hardened mage like me, I've seen all of those tricks." She said and I smirked.

"Ice dragons frozen grounds." I yelled and out of my hands flowed my ice magic making the whole ground now covered in ice, making Irene lose her footing which I took as an opening and hit her on the side making her groan in pain before she gave me one with her fist right into the face. "I give you this point for sure, using your ice to make the ground slippery for me." She said and smiled softly at me.

Wendy flew at Irene trying to strike her with a sky dragons wing attack but Irene dodged it by simply hitting Wendy's arms with her staff making the attack hit the ceiling before ramming her fist into Wendy's gut making her drop on her knees.

I looked over to Cana who didn't seem to need my help as she easily took care of those three on her own. "Y/n I have an idea on how we can beat her it might not work but we have to try." Wendy spoke but we both got hit by Irene again who punched us in the stomach sending us crashing on the ceiling. 

"You two need to concentrate, I feel like you aren't taking me seriously." Irene spoke and Wendy scoffed. "Bill take Wendy up in the air." I shouted and my exceed grabbed her bringing her away.

"You think I wont take this serious." I spoke and clenched my fist. "Ice dragons cage." I shouted and right in front of me several large spikes formed and two hit Irene taking both her legs into the ice. I jumped forwards and reeled my fist back. "Ice dragons firing hammer." I shouted and punched Irene in her chest making the ice below her break and she crashed against the throne braking it. "That must have hurt." I said proudly and Bill dropped Wendy next to me. "She is completely fine a hit like that doesn't hurt her." Wendy exclaimed and I saw Irene stand up throwing a piece of the throne to the side like nothing.

She seemed to be furious as her cold eyes landed on me with a glare. "That's it." She yelled and screamed loudly. Wendy started to back away in fear. "We are done for if we don't think of something." Wendy said and I gave her a shocked look. "Why." I asked her in confusion. "Everything seems to go fine." I spoke and Wendy shook her head while I noticed her whole body trembled. "Irene's dragon force is more then we can take." She said and right at that moment red lighting appeared  around Irene and her eyes turned red, her cheeks started to have scales on them. "Sage dragon mode!" She yelled and broke the ground around her.

Only now I understood how much in deep shit we were, her magic power was of the charts. Her magical aura was starting to crack the walls around us and if we stayed here for too long the whole castle could break. "Lets see how you can handle this." She flew at me with lighting speed and connected her fist with my chin uppercutting me and she sendet Wendy right next to me crashing down. I spat blood before standing up. "Fuck she's strong." I said and Wendy weakly nodded. "I think we can try something, I've seen Laxus do it with Natsu." Wendy spoke and extended her hand to me.  Dragonslayer seal." She chanted and her wind magic started to flow around me and I began to feel much lighter and stronger. "I think you can beat her with it now. And on top of that Raise Ile arms, Ile vernier." She chanted and had to breath heavily. "Do it fast I don't know how long I can hold it up."

I clenched my hand into a fist and flew towards her taking her by surprise with my speed. "Blizzard dragons freezing fist." I shouted and the hit connected with her face sending her right into the wall and on her knees falling  flat on the ground.

I had to breath heavily but I was smiling from defeating her. "Looks like we won." I said and Wendy smiled. "We did but we are beaten too." She exclaimed and dropped to the ground sitting. I saw Cana walk towards Irene. "Better take her into one of the cards so we can bring her to the guild." She said and pulled one out, but at that exact moment Irene lifted herself up from the ground shocking all three of us. "Fuck we are dead." I murmured. "You'd expect me to be beaten by such weak attacks? You are far from my or my daughter's power." She spat and clenched her fist.

Right when she made a step she dropped on her knees unconscious. "Looks like her body couldn't hold the magic up and decided it had enough Cana spoke and Wendy slowly sat up crawling towards Irene. I did too and Cana turned her around. "Why does she look so much like Erza." I asked and Cana stifled a laugh. "Because she's her mother." Cana pointed out and I was with my mouth agape. "And where is the member of the Fairy Tail guild we are supposed to help?" I Asked and Cana again grinned at me smugly. "You just fought her." She pointed towards the left arm and I saw a blue Fairy Tail guild mark there. "Are you kidding me, someone of her caliber that was known as the scarlet despair is part of Fairy Tail now." I stated and Cana laughed softly while sitting down next to me and leaning on my shoulder. "Its complicated to explain but yes and you will be even more surprised knowing who she actually was in her past." She added and looked at Wendy. "Until then we need to wait for Wendy to regain her magic and heal Irene." Cana spoke and Wendy nodded.

"Yeah that's why I'm here." Wendy replied and started to heal Irene after a few seconds. "Do you girls know why she attacked us?" I asked and Cana shock her head. "I'm as clueless as you on this, we have to ask her, she never attacked us or showed any sort of hostility after she joined, she rarely raised her hand against any of us but when she did it was due to something really bad." She replied.

After a minute or so Irene began to move and sat up holding her head, she let out a pained groan. "I'm going to destroy that thing now." She growled and then snapped out of her thoughts noticing us. "Oh I didn't know you were so close to me." She stated and stood up. "I'm guessing you are the ones who freed me of the thing controlling me, I was controlled by something." She stated and I nodded. "I'm not sure but I think you got unconscious from your magic being too strong and the link broke between you and what took control of you." I stated and she placed a hand under her chin. "I guess you might be right." She replied. I saw her walk away heading for a door.

We all headed to see what she was doing and found a strange orb. "That thing right there made me attack you as it controlled me when I touched it, she stated and raised her hand. "Disappear." She yelled and the whole room was detonated from the inside leaving nothing but rubble to see. Wendy, Cana, Bill and I all had a shocked face from this.

She turned towards us after having destroyed it, she smiled softly. Like the warmest and most sincere smile. "I'm Irene Belserion, I hope you take my apology for what I had done to you." She spoke and turned to Wendy seeing her beaten body. Her gaze immediately went worried while she end down placing her right hand on the swollen cheek of Wendy's face. "Wendy I'm so sorry for having done this." She apologized immediately.

"What's up with her." I asked and Cana let out a chuckle. "Master Makarov is our guilds father figure and Irene is the mother figure, she takes care of the youngest of the guild making sure they know what a good mother is, she knows when someone feels down and makes sure they are happy, Asuka evne calls her aunty since she looks so young." Cana replied and I couldn't believe what she said. "I don't believe you, you mean the scarlet despair the most brutal woman from the Alvarez empire is the kindest person who has a heart of a real loving mother." I stated and Irene looked towards me.

She made a few small steps in her heeled armored boots but she moved so regal in them. "Y/n was it, I can understand your doubt but in my past when I was young just like you two 400 years ago, I wanted nothing more then to be a good mother to my future children I learned to cook the most exquisite meals and studied books on parenting to make sure I knew everything about it, but as you might know my wish never came and so I've suffered 400 years having to abandon the only thing I truly loved out of my very heart." She spoke and then smiled. "Wendy here gave me back what I wished for and now I can begin anew, she's like my second daughter I never had." She spoke and looked at the door. "Lets go we need to get the reward for the bandits." She added in a more authoritarian voice.

"How are we going to get all those bandits with us, I mean they are at least two dozen." I stated in shock and Irene laughed in amusement. "With my enchant magic." She replied and turned all the bandits into mice while picking a wiker basket from nearby.

 We collected all of them and gave them to Irene who laid them into the basket that Irene closed with the lid. "Talk about useful magic, this is insane." I spoke  and Irene pat my head. "When you have 400 years worth of time you tend to think on how to better your magic." She stated calmly and walked towards the door. "Wendy come here and hold my hand I know you'd like to." She spoke and Wendy was lightly embarrassed.

I looked towards Cana for answers. "Wendy never knew how a families love feels and Irene is the closest to a mother we have, same goes for Erza who's a big sister for Wendy, both never learned what it truly means to be a woman, Irene learned Erza to use her feminine traits to get advantages." Cana stated and we both looked solemnly at her. "Most of the children in Fairy Tail are orphans or half orphans with the exception of Romeo and Asuka and since you are a dragon slayer I bet you too?" She calmly said and I nodded weakly. "Yeah but I'm adopted by the Silvia family at the age of 5, maybe I should visit them soon." I said and Cana raised an eyebrow.

"You wouldn't mind if I came along, doing normal job requests is kind of boring you know." She asked and I nodded happily. "Of course I'd like for you to join me on it." I replied and she smiled happily.

"You two lovebirds coming or what!" Irene sneered and I felt my face lightly turn pink. "Yeah we are coming Irene." I shouted and headed with Bill being held by Cana towards the exit.

We walked the path towards the Fairy Tail guild but were outside of Magnolia and "So if I get this right Irene you are the founder of the dragon slayer magic." I replied and she nodded. "And you are basically a walking cheat code?" I added and she again nodded while having her arms crossed and eyes closed with a smirk of delight. "That is true, not even death itself could get rid of me as I can enchant myself into someone else and take her over, I was inside of Wendy's body and not feeling weight in front of me for once was somehow quite the relief." She replied and Wendy let out an embarrassed shriek.

"Don't remind me of that time Irene-san, I woke up in her body and she was in mine, I had never felt so much weight in front of me, I've almost tripped over from the weight." She exclaimed embarrassed and Irene let out a chuckle. "You are still on about being flat as an ironing board, you know we could just try and bribe Brandish with some sweets and ask her to make yours bigger." Irene replied and Wendy turned redder then a tomato. "I don't want to do that." She squeaked. "Its always amusing to tease you about it." Irene chuckled.

"Is it just me or is Wendy obsessed with boobs." Cana said and Bill looked up to her. "Seeing as most of the guilds girls are on the larger side it wouldn't surprise me if she felt inferior to them." Bill replied.

We reached the entry gate to Magnolia and a light earthquake caught me off guard. The bells of the Kardia cathedral started to ring uncontrollably and Trumpets could be heard. Banners appeared on the sides of the street and people gathered to greet Irene and us. She began to wave and greet the people. "What's going on why is the whole town changing, I thought only Gildarts needed something like that." I stated and Cana laughed again while grabbing my hand. "Y/n, Irene is a royal her title is still valid even tough no one knows where her kingdom is except her and she wont tell and well master Makarov let the guild change some of the structure of Magnolia, not in the same way as with Gildarts but to emphasize on her being the strongest female of the guild too, Erza doesn't come near her in terms of power." Cana stated and waved at the guild. "This takes me back to when we came from the grand magic games." She awed.

The doors of the Fairy Tail guild opened and Irene stepped inside seeing the guild look at her. Her magic skyrocketed as she noticed a brawl happen right at the corner of the room. "Is this how you welcome the members of the guild." She stated and in one quick second all the mages scatered sitting down. "Now that's more like it." She said happily and walked in front.

"Master Makarov, I'm done with my request and I apologize for being gone longer then expected, those bandits had some kind of lacrima that turned me into an evil master for them and made me fight Cana Wendy and Y/n." She stated and placed the basket down. "The bandits are inside here." She tapped on the lid with her hand.

Makarov's eyes grew wide. "Don't tell me you turned them to frogs again." He yelled in shock and she rolled her eyes. "No, I haven't they are now mice, they even look better now then before." She stated and picked one out. "Maybe I should have turned them into hamsters instead?" She mused with a finger laid on her chin.

I turned to Cana who was looking around. "Thank god Gildarts isn't here right now." She let out a relieved sigh.

I noticed on the corner of my eye red hair appear and I knew it must have been Erza. "Mother were have you been." She asked and tried to stay neutral but the worried tone in her voice was quite noticeable. Irene turned to her and surprised Erza by hugging her gently against the breast plate causing the knights cheeks to have a pink hue on them. "I had a small mishap on a job but thanks to Wendy, Cana and Y/n I'm ok now, where's Rose my exceed?" She asked and Erza smiled. "She's sleeping in the upstairs room."

"How is my little strawberry." Irene asked and Erza blushed even darker from embarrassment. "Don't call me like that." She spat and Irene giggled. "But I'm your mother." She stated dramatically.

A brawl started to happen again and Irene let out a sigh. "Ugh its never easy." She said and was hit by a chair. "Y/n get behind the counter." Cana yelled and pulled me with her. I looked up and saw Irene jump headfirst into the fight. "Whats up with her, I thought she was one of the ones that are normal." I stated and Cana shook her head. "She's far from normal, she might even be the most insane one out of all from the guild." She replied and smiled at me. "But that's normal, it wont take long for you to rub onto and fight in it too." She said and held my hand down.

And this chapter is done, it was a long piece over 5000 words. The mother of Dragon slayers Irene Belserion is one of the major plot characters which I wanted to introduce to the story, she will work with Y/n to help him reach his goal of finding his dragon. I hope it was amusing to read and I'm sorry if the fight was bad I'm not good with writing fights and better with overall story writting I'm proud of my Arranged Marriage book especialy. What are your thoughts on Irene, she is my favorite right after Erza. Irene is the one who made dragon slayers possible in the first place which made the story happen, without Irene there wouldn't be Nalu or Jerza.
