Chapter 29

Y/n Pov

I couldn't understand where this woman lived that Irene wanted to meet but we went on a long walk with currently 3 days on foot and camping on the side of the road. We didn't even have tends. The interesting part was my parents lived in the next village ahead. "We are almost there only five minutes more to walk." Irene stated and Cana let out a sigh. "Finally, it feels like we have been walking for ages." She whined and Gildarts gave her a pat on the back. "Quit whining, we almost made it or should I give you a piggy back ride?" He asked grinning wide and Cana shoved him away. "No I'm not a little girl." She yelled stomping her foot and he laughed.

"Now, now Cana no need to throw a tantrum." Irene calmly stated and Cana grew a beet red face. "Stop treating me like a child." She pouted and I giggled. "You too?" She asked and slouched down in defeat. "Oh come on, I just liked how you acted, it was kinda cute." I replied and she let out a light surprised squeak.

"That's the village up ahead." Irene stated and I stopped at her side. "Irene this village is my home village but I've never heard of someone called Anna living here." I said and she stared at me nonchalant. "Well that's because she likes to keep a low profile and only recently moved there." She replied and we walked towards the entrance of the village.

It was a typical self sustaining village where all of the people had their own field and helped each other to collect their crops. Everyone knew each other and the children all grew up together, there were at least 7 other kids like me and I wonder if the number has grown since I moved away a few months ago, last time I heard some had to be expecting.

I looked over to Irene who had a beaming smile. "You seem to be happy." I said and she nodded. "Well its rare to see a village where people are living on their own and of the land. This small village is living like nature intended them to be with their parents and children under one roof." She said and I raised an eyebrow.

"How is that natural?" I asked in wonder and she chuckled. "400 years ago farmers where the norm with over 80% of the population in my kingdom who lived on their own and sold crops and self-made goods into the main town for others to use. These farmers had large homes the size of my mansion but for several generations at the same time. It wasn't uncommon to have 4 bedrooms and they weren't poor either like some would think." She said and then raised her hand." The point is if you leave them on their own they will always go back to exactly this, the whole family living under one roof in one large home, the men working the fields and the women raising the children, its natural and trying to fight it would only destabilize it." She added and moved her hands to the side.

"This village is the prime example of what happens when you leave them on their own and my whole kingdom was a place of freedom and economical prosperity." Irene exclaimed and we got stopped my one of the village people. "Y/n is that you?" I heard a girl ask and I looked in front past Cana and Irene.

She had brown shoulder blade length hair and gave me a happy smile. I raised an eyebrow for a moment before it finally clicked. "Miku?" I asked and she nodded eagerly, welcome back oniichan, its been a while." the young teenager stated and she looked to all of the others. "Are these your friends?" She asked and I smiled nodding slowly. "Yes, they are my guild mates." I stated and she jumped at me with a hug.

"Mom and dad are gonna be so happy to see you but. . ." She said and stopped looking away. Her reaction got me worried and I gripped her shoulder tightly startling her. "Did something happen?" I asked worriedly and she shook her head in a no. "No nothing bad to worry about." She quickly said and got free from me.

She turned around and took off running. "Hey wait up." I yelled and she laughed in the distance. I stared in disbelieve at my little sister who ran away. I sighed and turned to the group. "Guys can we have a detour please." I asked and Irene gave me a short glance. She turned fully to me now. "What are you waiting, after her." She yelled and we all started to run.

My little sister rarely acted this way and when she did she hid something usually. Last time she did something like this she booby trapped my room with a bucket of water. That's what you get when your little sister hangs out with boys who like to do mischief. But she had changed over the years becoming much more like my adopted mother. She was born when I was 5 years old which means she's currently 13 and might be asked to find a future husband soon which she will know over the few years before her marriage.

After a short stint we reached my home. I stopped running and stared at it. Everything was fine and clean on the outside. "That's odd!" I whispered and Cana walked up to me with her hands resting on her hips. "Seems more like your little sister just wanted to scare you." She joked and I shook my head with a wide grin. "That's not like her when she does something like this something's up." I replied and she hummed.

"If you say it then lets go inside, the door seems to be open." She replied and I made one step forwards. How long has it been since I went away. I joined the guild 3 months ago and had been on the move for 4 before that. Its clear my parents miss me even if they were young themselves and it wasn't uncommon to have children at a young age. "Go inside we'll wait." Cana whispered and she gave me a light push.

I opened the door slowly and stepped inside. To my left was the entrance to the kitchen and to my right was the large living room with a dinner table fitting way more then we usually had people in the house. Right in front of me were the stairs to the first floor. "Mom, dad. I'm home." I stated and heard a light rustling. in the living room. I stepped inside and there I saw them.

"Hey mom, hey dad." I said and they looked up to me. My father stood up quickly and hugged me. "Welcome home son." He said and I peered over to my adoptive mother. "Mom why aren't you standing up?" I asked and she just smiled softly at me. "Its difficult right now, come here." She said and I moved to her.

She pulled me down embracing me and giving a cheek kiss. I've missed you my child." She replied and then placed her hand on her stomach. "I can't stand up because I'm taking a rest, I'm expecting my second baby and Miku has been excited ever since she noticed it." She replied and I tumbled back lightly.

I couldn't help the smile spreading on my face. My parents had another kid besides Miku who looks adorable. "You two had Miku early and now you have another coming, I thought she'd be the only one." I replied and she just glanced in silence at me. Her eyes trailed down again. "Well I would have liked to have this way earlier but since we had so much trouble with you and her it got delayed." She replied and stood up slowly. "Its maybe going to be a month or a bit more until its coming. So if you could spare the time I'd wish to have you here when the baby is born." She stated and I made a quick nod. "Of course mom, but the grand magic games are soon and it could get close." I said and she just waved it off. "Its okey just come as soon as you can, I want to have a picture of the whole family." She replied and held onto my father.

I heard someone walk down the stair case and turned to see Miku. She pulled me towards the main door. "You know its rude to let others stand outside go and get your friends inside we got plenty of room in here and out in the backyard too." She stated and pushed me out. "Also I hope you got a GF right now since there is lots of girls in the big towns you can get with your looks." She added and I felt my face turn pink. "Miku." I shot at her and she gave me as short smile, her eyes traveling over to Cana. "I see." She whispered and disappeared behind the door.

"Guys come in. Miku said to not leave you outside." I said and immediately Cana jumped up to me. "Great I started to think you forgot us." She replied and went inside quickly.

I closed the door behind us and my mother looked right towards, Cana Erza and Irene. "Wow I thought my son wouldn't get so many girls to be with him, I'm surprised there is three in his group." She stated and Cana blushed while Erza let out a laugh. "Miss Silver I'm already taken by this blue haired gentleman right here." She replied and motioned to Jellal.

Irene made a small smirk. "I'm flattered on being mistaken for a young girl in her 20's but I'm in no means interested in Y/n, he's too young for my age. Cana here is the one who's got his attention." She stated and I looked to Cana seeing her brightly red cheeks. "Well yes we kissed but I don't know what that means." She replied and my mother immediately grabbed her hands. "You come with me." She stated and a confused look spread on Cana's face.

"Wait mom." I exclaimed and she stopped dragging Cana away." Yes do you want to say something?" She asked and I nodded. "Its about my past." I said and her face lit up. "Of course Y/n, you told us before you went away that you wanted to find your dragon." She said and I nodded. I sat down on the couch and my parents opposite to me. Cana came quickly to my side. "You two remember how I talked about my dragon?" I asked and they both nodded.

I saw the look in their eyes which always seemed to me like they pitied me. "Yes we know Y/n you've told us a few times of her and that you got your magic from her." My father spoke and opened his hand. "I still remember how you froze down the entire tub of water." He chuckled looking at me. "Did you find something out about her?" He asked and I nodded, "Yes I did thanks to Irene here maybe you know who she is or maybe not." I replied and both stared at her with wide eyes. "The scarlet rose growing on the battlefield." My father whispered and he began to smile wide. "Its her, she's the legendary queen of the fallen Dragnof kingdom, the book perfectly describes her facial features and her hair to perfection, that single side braid the long flowing back hair. You miss are the most controversial topic between historians." He stated and I saw Irene look a little sheepish.

My mother caught her hand. "Miss Irene please excuse my husbands outburst he and I have been researching Fiores past ever since we became archaeologists and your tomb has never been found. Now we know why." She replied and Irene just nodded silently.

Irene rasped. "I'm sure your son wanted me to talk about what we found out about his dragon." She stated and sat down at my left. "His dragon being alive is uncertain right now. But what we found out during our journey is the dragon and his mother share the same magic and I have my own possible reason that they could be one and the same." Irene added and I immediately saw the baffled expression.

"What how. A dragon cannot have human children." My father spoke and Irene crossed her arms. She closed her eyes for a moment and sighed silently. She looked back at him with a trist face. "Erza and I are the living truth a dragon can be pregnant with a human child." She stated and I saw her hand tremble lightly. "I was turned into a dragon through my own magic dragonification it happened to many of the slayers and very likely Y/n's real mother did too. I know she survived the war but what I don't know is how Y/n ended up here from 400 years ago and if she's even in Fiore or some far away nation." Irene spoke and my mother stared at her tensed.

"Miss Irene can I talk to you for a moment alone there are a few things I want to ask you in private, follow me please." She stated and I saw Irene nod.

Irene Pov

I followed Y/n's adoptive mother to a room and she shut the door behind me. Why did she want to talk to me in private. Was there something Y/n shouldn't know? She walked up to a shelf and pulled out a key from under a vase. She stuck it in the back of the book shelf and pulled out an envelope. "Miss Irene, you are the first I tell this to, when I met my adopted son the first time it was a rainy  day and someone knocked on the this door. I opened it to see a woman with hair as white as snow and eyes of an azure color with a small child held in her arms. The only thing she told me was to please take care of her child as she could not care for it, if she did it could not survive and have the future it deserved. A care free childhood." She stated and tears started to drop on her eyes. She started to sob and sat down on the chair behind a desk.

"She gave me him and this letter that told in detail why she did it. I've never read a story so tragic, full of hope, despair and love at the same time. The last sentence she wrote was this. I hope to one day hold my own child in my arms again but I know its only a dream never to become reality for someone who wanted nothing more then to have her own family and then have it stripped away in such a brutal manner. I cannot even call myself human anymore even with this body. I have no emotions, no taste but what I felt for my child was real. That's why I'm giving it to you, afraid of what could happen if I forget this feeling and decide to do the unthinkable, to murder my own child would be the biggest sin I could probably do. Whatever happens never tell my son of my existence not even if it would mean your death if you don't tell him. I'm afraid of what would happen when we meet. My name is Diana Förfrysning and I'm a human turned into a dragon destined to live long past my own childs death. I'm leaving him in your care and trust you from the very depth of my heart." She spoke and let the letter fall down on the table, too weak to hold it and she just started to cry. I too felt the tears on my own cheeks. "So that's how it happened. Y/n was born just like Erza from a dragon slayer who turned into a dragon and back into a human to deliver him in this timeline. Diana I'm going to take good care of your son, no mater where you are no mater the distance between you and him you are destined to find each others loving embrace." I whispered and his adoptive mother nodded. "That's what I said too after I read this letter and my husband Tony shed tears for the first time I met him after reading this letter as well." She replied and I went close to her. "I know she's alive and there is a way to at least linger the feeling Diana has from being a dragon, its a family like Fairy Tail which will give her a positive change and if we ever find her I will bring her to the guild no mater the cost I will use universe one to bring her there if I have to." I replied and she nodded. "You are the maker of this magic so its your responsibility to fix everything don't you?" She asked and I nodded silently. "Too much has been destroyed due to my foolish decisions and I ruined a family." I replied and we sat there in silence for a moment to calm down.

A/n: Chapter 29 Here now with Y/n's family and their plot in the story which is a minor one but yet quite important, especialy for Irene to find out more about the mysterious dragon she never knew.
