Irene Pov

I clenched my hand tightly together while looking at Gildarts fighting. I was powerless in this fight as I couldn't do anything. If I would then the enemy was going to become stronger due to a blood link I had with them from the past. I was the one who created them and used my blood to perform the ancient dark magic. I hated myself for being useless. I gripped Makoto tightly to me to not have her run around and get in danger.

Using blood for magic wasn't unknown in my time, there were even some who used magic that can manipulate someones blood and therefore render them powerless puppets to your will. Assassinations of targets would have been carried out that way with the user always being close to the target and using someone near it to attack it. "Gildarts don't you dare to lose!" I yelled and he gave me a quick glance. "Keep on suppressing your magic, especially for the others." He stated and I gritted my teeth together. I was trying my best to keep it low. Being born with a high amount of magic was a blessing and a curse and I know Erza has that too.

"Irene come on you need to have faith in Gildarts, you know he saved you from countless bad situations." Rose assured me and I nodded slowly. "I know, but not being able to help is worse then being injured. Gildarts is in bad shape and I don't know how long he can take it and if I need to face it I hope the others can come to aid." I said and felt my eyes getting moist.

I was kneeling on the ground with my legs spreed to the side looking at the fight. I felt worthless for not being able to help. Something I hated is when someone else got injured just to protect me. "Gildarts please win I can't bare to see you hurt."  I whispered and kept staring at the fight. I didn't know if I should just face away from it or feel even more heart wrenching pain each time he got hit.

Gildarts used one last attack on the enemy but it missed before he got hit straight in the chest sending him to the ground.

"Gildart-sama." I cried out tears flowing but he didn't stand up this time. I felt my heart break apart, was he dead! He didn't move one bit and I could only feel a bit of his magic energy coming from him. 

I couldn't hold it anymore and snapped darting forwards. "I'll tear you to shreds you damn monster." I yelled and my fist turned into a scarlet color. "Sage Dragons demolishing strike." I shouted and hit him right at the head sending him into a wall. I knew it was far from over I had to pull all my power into this one last attack. "Vernier." I shouted and immediately felt my magic power increase but I knew it wasn't going to hold much after I make my final attack on this creature.

I extended my hands in front with with my lower having all five fingers extended and the top only my middle and index. "May the seven stars judge you. Grand chariot." I shouted and above the creature 7 magic circles formed firing down into the ground where it stood. 

I dropped to my knees panting heavily. If I wasn't able to beat it now we lost and all went to nothing. The smoke cleared revealing the enemy standing. I lost "I'm sorry for being so useless." I whispered and closed my eyes. "Wait Irene the fight is over you won." Rose said and I looked over to her in wonder. "How its standing." I said and she flew over to it. "The seal is gone." She stated and I smiled while slowly standing up getting my fist up into the air.

"We are Fairy Tail, we'll always win." I said and slowly walked over to Gildarts with the last of my energy dropping down right above his head into a kneeling position. I took a good look at his face checking if he was breathing and he did. He was only knocked out. I pulled his head onto my lap gently. "You fought great Gildarts." I whispered and stroked his cheek slowly.

I heard him cough and stared right down at him as he opened his eyes. Those fierce brown eyes who make everyone fear him when he lays his eyes on them, but not on me. "This is a nice way to wake up. Did we win?" He asked and I felt the tears coming again. I was overjoyed of him waking up so soon. "Yes." I replied smiling down and my cheeks began to blush when I realized he was staring right at my chest. "How long will you two be staying like this?" Rose asked and I shrugged. "No idea, I can't move my legs anymore and I'm sure Gildarts is beat." I replied and he just gave a thumbs up making me laugh lightly.

"Lets just wait for the others, I'm sure they will come when they see we aren't there." I stated and looked back down again to him.

I heard faint quick steps coming closer to us and I looked to the entrance of the room. "Are you two alright?" Cana yelled and stopped right in front of us looking down a little shocked. "Oh, I think I'll just give you a moment." She added and I blushed shamefaced. 

"Can you guys help us, we are a little weak now and had issues fighting against that enemy." Gildarts said and Y/n pulled on his hand getting him up. Jellal gave me his hand and I took it slowly. "Yeah who knew my mothers magical power was directly connected to those things making them stronger when she fought but now I think we wont have to worry about them anymore." Erza stated and gave me a hug. "I'm glad you are ok." She whispered and I hugged her back.

I was so happy I could prevent the others from being injured a lot more, they only seem to have bruises and cuts on them. I looked over to Y/n who seemed to be lost in his mind. "What's wrong Y/n is something on your mind about this whole thing?" I asked and walked over placing my hand right on his shoulder. 

He thought for a moment before snapping his eyes onto me. "The enemy I thought had magic the scent of my dragon and its magic felt so similar to the one of that encased dragon, you know what I mean don't you?" He replied and I made a small nod. "I think I do Y/n. I'll just leave you alone for now, do ask if you have questions about it." I stated and  he smiled. "Thanks Irene."

There was something still off with this place for me and I couldn't tell why. I began to walk right down to the end of the large room and found a gate wide open. I motioned for the others to come to me and they came quickly. "I think we aren't done here. Something is inside there and it may be important." I said and stepped inside. "Mother, this is the underground of your destroyed palace right?" Erza asked and I turned to her while placing my arm on my hip. "Yes Erza it is but I have no idea what's inside there. I've only been a few times down here and mostly to watch the data the archive. . ." I stopped mid sentence when I remembered what was back here.

I turned around quickly and went with a running pace. This could change a lot about Y/n's situation. I reached the room quickly and immediately noticed the large circular table in the middle of the room. When activated it will show different kinds of data and statistics it collected over the years. 

I looked behind me and saw their dumbstruck faces. "This looks like what the magic council has, a supper archive." Jellal awed and I crossed my arms smiling proudly. "Yes it was quite expensive to build." I said and Erza walked right up to me. "I remember one that looked exactly like this one from the Tartaros base." She said and touched it but it didn't work. "Is it broken?" She stated and I shook my head in a no. 

"The opposite Erza, this one is an early model and has some more steps to activate. "I said and placed my palm into a rectangular box. I activated my magic and the small device lit up. "Welcome home queen Irene." The device stated and I smirked. A blue screen appeared in front of me where the usual monitor would be. "Uh that shouldn't happen." I stated dumbstruck and a loading bar appeared. "Who made an update for this thing?" I yelled and a chuckle came from the back. "I thought as much. The archives never work when you need them the most." He stated and I slouched down on the chair right in front.

"Why can't anything go how I want it." I cried out and I heard everyone laugh behind me. I pouted and felt a hand on my shoulder. "Calm down will ya. We can just wait until its done, I'm sure it will be over soon." Gildarts said and knelt right beside me. "You are the one who got us this win Irene so head up and smile, there is no reason to feel sad." He stated and I felt my face flush when he touched my cheek.I let out a light squeak.

I kept staring at the screen until the bar finally was full and I let out a sigh. Finally it was over after half an hour. I tapped some of the buttons and the desired document came up. It was about all the dragon slayers who fought in the war. I scrolled it down hoping to find an answer all of the dragon slayers were marked as dead and then I reached the last spot.

I looked in disbelieve at it, two spots one with me and one of Diana she was marked as missing and I was active. I felt my hand tremble. If she's missing than that means she's alive. How else could Y/n be here. Was she frozen in ice for 400 years but then how could he be taught about slayer magic from a dragon.

There were several theories about how he got here that I couldn't put my finger on it. Of course he had to be conceived before the 400 years as his father died in battle but it doesn't make sense considering Anna had only 5 dragon slayers and herself go through the portal to stop Zeref. I learned from Natsu about it. The only explanation was something like I had done with Erza but how could she do it. He had to be born in this timeline.

There was only one who could answer this and that's Anna. She was the only one who knows how the dragon slayers came into this world in detail and I wanted to know it for my slayers sake as I had the responsibility for being the mother of all dragon slayers. 

"Y/n I found something that's important for you." I said and moved away from the seat. He walked right up to me. "Here this your biological mother she's alive I'm sure of it." I stated and smiled softly when I saw his eyes going wide.

"How. I mean she lived 400 years in the past." He said and moved his hands to his hair. I placed my hand on his shoulder. "I know, there are some theories I have about this but they are just far fetched and I need to talk to someone who really knows the truth about how all of you young dragon slayers came to this timeline. "I can assure you that you more then likely didn't have the same circumstances as I had with Erza. Diana couldn't enchant you to stop growing, she only knew ice dragon slayer magic." I replied and then shut of the device. 

He gave me a firm and serious look. "How do you know she's not dead?" He asked and I pressed my lips together at his question. "This device can locate a dragon slayers magic energy when its close enough and as you may have noticed Acnologia was killed and I wasn't. Even tough my body died and I have a grave at the Kardia cathedral. I'm still here thanks to Wendy and this thing registered my magic and marked me as active due to updating on its own." I said and he gave me a hopeful look.

I felt that he was in a major emotional twist. He thought his real parents are dead. "Even though I never met them why does it make me feel so emotional about knowing I can possibly see my mother." He whispered and I gave him a fond smile. "That's normal, when I first met Erza again I couldn't believe my eyes that she was still alive, she didn't see me as her parent which I can understand. I was merely the one who brought her into this world, I couldn't call me her true mother but that's her choice." I replied and he took a deep breath. 

"Thanks Irene, without you I wouldn't know as much of my parents." He stated and I shook my head slowly. "No Y/n, its Cana who made all this possible." I replied calmly and turned him around to face her. "By meeting her you found out about all this."

Y/n Pov

I looked directly at Cana who had her eyes focused on me. "I made one step forward and she had her hand up to her chest. "Y/n I. . ." She said and I shook my head. "You don't need to talk. Thank you for making all this possible you don't know how much this means to me." I replied and she gave me a soft smile. "Always and thank you for saving my life against that creature." She replied and placed her hand on my chest. She leaned up and pecked my lips. We are definitely not just team mates anymore.

"Lets go back we are done here aren't we Irene?" I asked and she kept staring at us for a moment before she mate light sulking face. Was she upset about me and Cana being close? "Yeah we can go now, nothing is here anymore that can help us for further clues." She stated and waved her hand around. 

She walked past me and could hear her mumble something. "How much I would love to kiss Gildarts." I heard her whisper and I peered over to him. She really seems to be in a complicated relationship with him. But at least she can be close to him. I do wonder what keeps her from really braking through and admitting it.

We got out of the underground and sat at the table again with Irene and Hisui having a competing stare. Irene's proposition had taken Hisui's mouth shut from the blatant boldness Irene had shown. Hisui knew she had someone in front of her who had perfected the art of mind games. "I'm well aware that Makoto being in Fiore is a huge deal but are you sure that is the best choice?" She asked and Irene taped her fingers on the table. "As much as I want her to be back in her homeland I'm afraid we don't have another option and we are not allowed to leave the country due to what master Makarov wants. Besides I'm under the surveillance of the magic council and they use Jallal to inform them of what I do. Not that I care about anything they do but they are useless, if I wanted I could just snuff them out in a single blow." She stated and Jellal chuckled while I kept listening.

I stood up now as I was too tired about the back and forth these two had. "Queen Hisui, we only ask for this as a temporary solution and maybe if Makoto likes it she  can path the way to a more open Japan and new trade alliances for Fiore." I stated and Hisui looked at me surprised.

She placed her hand on her cheek. "That of course is a possible way but from Irene's expression I can tell its only a dream." She replied and Irene nodded. "Its the best outcome, I'm more concerned about before then after. So its decided Makoto stays here until the end of the games and we bring her to Japan once they are over." Irene replied calmly and Hisui glanced at the child. "It is the best solution. I'm eager to see you in 2 months then." She replied and we stood up bowing.

A/n: Chapter 28 done and dusted. The plot about the past of the dragon slayers has always interested me and who knows this woman named Anna might know more then the slayers know. Only thing we do know is that she was the one behind the eclipse gate with Zeref.
