The Queen is Here to Stay
Stella's POV
I stared at my Uncle, as the guards turned to him, glaring, as I walked up to the Throne, watching him, squirm, and attempt to glare at me.
"It's time to step down, Uncle, and hand over what rightfully belongs to me. Leave now, or suffer the consequences." I stated, and heard my Uncle growl lowly as he stood, his torn wrist barely moving, and I knew Patrick felt some pride in that.
From the corner of my eye, I could see the guards come up beside me, pointing their weapons at my Uncle, as he glared at them, then at me.
"I step down from the throne. Perminately. Just remember that this isn't the last you'll see me." He snarled, eyeing me, seeing what I would say or do next.
"I know this isn't the last, but you best watch your back in the near future, Uncle. Dragons don't turn their scales over the next day, after all." I stated, Tilting my head slightly, as I heard a couple of the guards growl in agreement.
"Captain, could you have a couple of your men escort my Uncle to the edge of the palace gates? I want to make sure every Dragon knows that they had a traitor for a king." I said calmly, but loud enough that my Uncle heard.
Captain Price nodded as I heard him say,
" Ymir. Idro. Take our deranked 'King' to the gates, and make sure he doesn't try anything."
I looked over to see a slightly muscular guard, Idro, who seemed to be far mature than than the guard beside him, Ymir, who was smaller in size, but looks can be decieving, even I can attest to that, and Patrick and the others are a clear example of it. I watched Ymir and Idro get on either side of my Uncle, and dragged him, in a way, to the gates outside. I turned to the others, and seen all of them down on one knee, their gaze on the floor, all but Ersor, who was crawling over to me. I picked her up once she was close to me, and realized that I just became the Queen.
Patrick's POV
I looked up at Stella with a soft smile and stood, everyone else following my lead, seeing as I may have started the kneeling in the first place, and walked over to Stella, pecking her lips, wrapping an arm around her waist. I turned to everyone who was still in the Throne room, to see that Andy and Kyla were walking up to us.
"I'm not going to be able to do this on my own, Patrick, what if the Dragons don't like me for being the Niece of a King who didn't care about his people the way he should've?" Stella said softly that only I was able to hear.
"But your also the daughter of a proud Queen that the people adored. Don't you realize how many of your mom's loyal people hoped that you were still alive? My Mom was one of them, and so was I." I said to her softly, nuzzling her cheek lightly in reasurance.
I heard her sigh. "I'm sure it was just because we were best friends then." She said lightly, making me frown slightly.
"So me having temper tantrums with my mom because we didn't bring you with us when we heard the news about you and your parents because we were best friends is any reason not to care?" I asked her calmly, with a slight edge to it to prove my point. I guess at that young of an age, my heart already knew who I would mate with, but my mind wasn't quick enough to really understand, so I always thought as I got older, it was just a little kid thing. Guess I was wrong on that part.
I felt Stella nod against my cheek. "I guess your right, I'm sorry." She said, turning her head to nuzzle my cheek in return.
I smiled, and heard someone clear their throat. I looked over to see Andy with his arm around Kyla's waist.
"Sorry to interupt, but there's an issue we need to solve." Andy said calmly, but seriously.
"Which would be?" Stella asked, the same way Andy had spoke.
"I'll let that head Guard tell you. It's probably easier for him to explain, anyways." Andy said, and looked at Captain Price, jerking his head slightly in a 'C'mmere' gesture when the Captain looked in Andy's direction, and Stella and I waited for him to come over, Andy leaving to talk to some of the Dragons that had come with us.
As Captain Price walked over, I noticed how quiet Stella became, so I glanced at her, seeing that she was watching the Captain carefully with a focused look. Once he was standing close to us she said icily,
"My Uncle lowered the patrols around the boarders, which is why Hunters have been able to slip though and get more dragons than they should have."
She got a nod from the Captain, and a sigh.
"I never realized that's what he was planning, but I had my assumptions. I see why your mother was careful to keep him from the throne, your Highness, but with your permission, I'll send more patrols out to keep hunters away from the borders." Captain Price said, getting a sharp nod from Stella.
"Go ahead. Now that I'm here, I'm making sure that my people won't be taken again." She said firmly, getting a smile from the Captain.
"You remind me of your mother in many ways, your Highness, and making sure your people are safe is one of them." He said, and walked over to a group of guards to give the orders.
I smiled at Stella, who reverted ack to her calm self again. "Told you that you could do it." I said, pecking her lips with a chuckle, smiling when she kissed back.
She leaned back from the kiss saying, with a smile,
"I guess you were right. Now, let's fix what damage my Uncle caused, which may have been a lot." She chuckled at the end, Ersor squealing for attention, making her and I laugh.
