Jen?

I was glued to the spot, not wanting to move, talk, or even breathe. Did he just call me Jen? I can't even rememb-

Another memory hit me straight in the head.

9 year old me was in a playground that looked somewhat familiar. I was sitting inside of a sandbox, making what seemed to be a castle.

"Hey Jen! Come push me!"

Some boy from my past was sitting on a swing, motioning for me to push him.

"Why do you need my help? And stop calling me Jen. That's not my name."

He frowned upon me saying this, but then smiled instead. His electrified yellow eyes seemed to know me too well.

"If you push me, I will let you play with Blackbird."

At hearing this, my tiny self instantly got up and sprinted towards him. As I approached him, he straightend up, as if getting ready for me to push him. Instead, I gave him a good, hard shove and watched as he fell faceforward on the ground.

"Why did you push me off?" He asked, massaging his head.

"Because you told me to." I said

He then paused for a moment and then asked;

"What about Jenna? Do you like that knickname?"

I thought for a moment.

"No. I liked the knickname Jen better."

His face lightened up.

"So, can I call you Jen?"

I just stood there blushing in front of him.

"Can I at least call you something?" I asked

He smiled and blushed as well, his eyes covered by his hair.

"Maybe."he said, getting up and pushing himself on the swing.

"I thought you couldn't push yourself Tay- tay!"

"I just wanted to test your strength- and dont call me Tay- tay. Call me TB." He said while smirking at me.

Taylor got off of the swing and did a little jig as he started to pull my arm.

I called out to him, but he just ignored me and kept pulling on my arm.

"Shhh. Be quiet. If you keep talking, you won't be able to see it." I kept quiet as he whistled softly

He was awarded a with a screech, much louder than his whistle. Following that noise came a small, yet powerful-looking silhouette. My 9 year old self seemed to recognize the figure. It turned out to be some sort of black peregrine falcon. It was young, describing the size and formation.

"Blackbird meet Jen, Jen meet Blackbird." My past self admired the gentle creature. My small hand slowly reached up to touch the falcon's beak. It cooed as I pet it's soft black feathers.

"Jen."

"Yeah?"

"Can you promise me something?"

"What?"

Taylor leaned over and whispered into my ear;

"Promise I can always call you Jen, no matter what happens."

"Okay. I promise." I paused for a moment.

"Pinky promise" I said while closing his pinky onto mine

I can't believe it's him. After all this time. Taylor Birmingham. The Taylor Birmingham. My only friend left after Alfonso and Estefano. My attention shifted from the party to him. That's all I could think about. Was it really him? Was it the same Tay from my past? Thankfully, my brother came to the rescue.

"How is my little sister?" He said while pulling me into a hug. His English had improved greatly, and his hair was a bit shorter.

"Great, um.....yeah I'm okay" I said, while inhaling in his strong cologne.

Turning around, with his arm still around my shoulder, Alfonso gave cheers to the program and to all the trainees attending it.

3 Hours later...

In the dining room, I classified 4 different types of people at a banquet. One type would always be up and ready to dance. Another would just be sitting down stuffing food into their faces. The third type would be walking around talking to random people, while the last type would just be people sitting down, trying to look fancy and sophisticated. Then there's me.

At one point, there was a slow dance, possibly a waltz. People were getting up and joining hands. I started to notice that most of them were couples, judging by how close they were. My heart sunk as I realized that I was the only girl not dancing. Even Bree was up dancing with a cute freckled boy.

"May I have this dance?"

I looked up in surprise to find an arm outstretched towards me. It was Taylor's.

"Of course!" I said a little too quickly

All he did was laugh and smirk at me.

"I heard you're a good dancer" he said while pulling me out of my chair.

Honestly, I didn't reply to this because even though I did have a bit of an experience with ballroom dancing, but I am sort of a klutz. Nonetheless, we danced flawlessly, receiving a few envious glares from other dancers. All I could do was stare at his eyes. They sparked and glowed as we took each twirling step. Both his hands were fixed on my waist, while mine were wound on his shoulder. He was slowly pulling me closer to him, until I was only inches away. Unexpectedly, he pulled me into a dip and held my ear near his lips. He whispered in my ear;

"I want to show you something."

Before I could even reply, he grabbed my hand and pulled me away from the dance floor. Just 2 minutes later, we encountered a flight of stairs. I stopped him.

"I- I can't." I made gestures towards my heels.

"We'll see about that." He said, smirking.

Faster than lightning, he scooped me up bridal style, looping his arm around my legs and back. In surprise, I shrieked, and laughed as he started to run down the stairs.

Reaching our destination, he let me down and led me out to the garden, still holding my hand.

Both of us stopped in our tracks. We both knew what was going to happen. Taylor slowly began to whistle, first at a low pitch, then resuming into a high pitch note.

Again, like in my vision, I heard the loud screech that was followed by a much larger silhouette. I watched as it changed its form until it was visible. I was amazed by how different Blackbird looked. He was much larger than the usual peregrine falcon. Completely mature, he had grown to be even bigger than Taylor. His talons looked almost as sharp as Estefano's, just thinner. I cringed at the memory.

"Are you okay?" Taylor asked as he slowly pulled me closer.

"Y- yes. I'm f- fine" I lied.

He seemed to notice my lie as he pulled into into a hug.

"Jen?"

I looked up at him.

"Yes?"

His yellow eyes had dimmed a bit, probably meaning his mood had changed.

"You see that sunset?" He said, pointing to where the sun had moved

"Yeah... what about it?"

"In life, many things are like the sun. They move, and everything is beautiful for a moment. Then it moves again and all is dark and lost. But always, there is one thing that changes things, like a whole new day, unless a cloud comes over and covers it."

"Wait... why are you telling me this?" I asked as I looked into his eyes.

He sighed and looked me as his eyes lost their spark.

"I'm getting married, Tommorow."

Ok I'm really sorry that this is like 3 days late, but I have school now, so I will be writing every other day. Hope you enjoyed!

Here are your questions

1. What do you think about the last part?

2. Did you ship anyone? If you did than who?
