Day's POV

I started to pack a bag. I can't stand being a royal any more, so I packed some non-royal clothes, some books and a few food items. I didn't know where I would go but I needed to run. I will leave tonight at nightfall. At nightfall, I grabbed my bag and sneaked out of my room.

I knew the guards would be protaling the halls but there was one guard who knew I wanted to leave. I started to run when I bumped into someone. I got scared knowing I was caught.

" it's okay princess, it's me Kiro" Kiro said

" *I looked up at Kiro* Kiro, thank goodness it's just you" I said

" I know a better way to leave the castle. As for the kingdom will be harder" Kiro said

" unless we make a scene here" I said

" like what your highness?" Kiro asked

" in my favorite book, the haunted gem. The princess fakes her own death" I said

" Princess, you know that won't work" Kiro said

" Kiro please" I said as my voiced sadden

"*Kiro took me back to my room* let's hurry" Kiro said

I watched as Kiro made a fake body but it looked just like me. I grabbed my crown and tied it to the fake me.

" hide in the wardrobe" Kiro said

I hid in the wardrobe as Kiro placed the fake me in the bed, Kiro cut his hand and let the blood land on the fake me. I wanted to run over to Kiro to heal him but his hand healed on its own. Kiro opened the window facing the kingdom

" help! Someone killed the princes!" Kiro yelled

The other guards ran in the room as I went deeper into the wardrobe but I was still able to see Kiro and the guards

" I was walking the halls when I heard the princess scream. I ran in here and saw the killer leaving through the window. I only remember seeing black wings" Kiro said

" We need to inform the king and queen about this death. Kiro you stay here" the guard said

The guards left the room. Kiro used his magic to make a vine go out the window. I walked out of the wardrobe

" go princess, I will find you one day" Kiro said

" no please come with me" I said

" I can't princess, I must stay here*He took his necklace off and placed it on me* This is a feather from the lava phoenix, I have its twin. I promise to find you" Kiro said

I hugged Kiro, Kiro hugged me back. I quickly climbed the vine. I saw the guard who was outside portaling run inside. I landed on the ground, I quickly ran along the shadows. I stopped and looked up towards my window. I saw Kiro looking towards me. The other guards walked and took him to my father's office.

I started to cry. My best friend saved me but I wiped my tears away, I ran out of the kingdom. I kept running till I was far away from the castle. I started to feel something on my head. I looked up and saw it was raining.

" this is either my father's magic or nature" I said to myself

I heard thunder and a flash of light came across the sky, lighting. I started to run, I saw a light coming from a cave. I ran in the cave and saw a fire. There was fish and meat cooking around the fire. I reached for a fish when I heard a growl, I looked back and saw a dragon. His had were red almost crimson

" Who are you?" the dragon asked

" please don't hurt me" I said

" I won't, I can see you are scared* a cloud of smoke appeared around him as he was now human* Who are you?" the dragon asked

" My name is Day, who are you?" I said

" My name is Slayer, I know funny name" Slayer said

" I think it's a cool name" I said

" *blushes* Thanks, do you have a home?" Slayer asked

" I did, I ran away from it" I said

" if you want, you can live with me and my people in my village" Slayer said

" Really I can?" I asked

" yes" Slayer said as he handed me a fish

I gently took the fish from his hand. Slayer sat next to me. I looked down at my hands and saw they were shaking. Slayer gently wrapped his right arm around me

" You might have a small cold, you were running in the rain. If you do you we will stay here" Slayer said

" How far is your village?" I asked

" depends on the way you are traveling, walking takes three days to get there" Slayer said

" How did you get here?" I asked

" Flying, I had to pick some building stuff up. I took them back only to come back for more" Slayer said

" How big is your village?" I asked

" Let's see, 3 farms, 15 guards. 20 people about 38 people not counting the ones who live outside the wall" Slayer said

" What is your village called?" I asked

" Dragon Scale" Slayer said

" The light of the fire made his eyes glow, I gently laid my head on his right shoulder.

Slayer's POV

Day laid her head on my right shoulder, I looked at her and saw she was falling asleep. I gently wrapped my right arm around her to hold her. A raven flew into the cave and sat on the rock near me

" lord Slayer, I finally found you" Roku said

" sorry for hiding Roku but the storm was coming" I said

" It's fine, who is the girl next to you?" Roku asked

" her name is Day, she ran away from her home and no she didn't tell me where" I said

" Shall I go back to the village?" Roku asked

" stay till the storm lets up, she is asleep" I said

Roku started to nibble on the fish in Day's hands. I smiled softly, thunder roared across the sky. I felt Day starting to shake. I gently rubbed her back. I saw Day's eyes open. I gently rubbed her arm. Day smiled softly at me. I smiled back at her.
