Prologue...

3rd POV

She was almost free.

She had distracted the guards and was able to make a rope out of blankets and sheets.

She was halfway down... She could see the world below, magnificent spiraling cities made of steel and electricity, Wonderful gardens and temples started across the land.

She was so close, she could practically taste the ground...

'Just a tiny bit longer' she thought as she prepared to touch the ground.

But...

Almost, Is never enough...

"Y/N LONGAN, YOU GET BACK IN THIS PALACE RIGHT NOW OR ELSE!!!" A voice boomed.

There it was... The reason why almost there, never was enough.

Y/n carefully made her way up the rope and back into her Chambers, when is she finally reached her room, she was greeted by the humanoid form of her mother staring down at her with disapproval.

Y/n's mother was the terrifying and powerful Ivory dragon, a being so powerful that not even heaven wished to pick a fight with her.

Now truth be told, Y/n absolutely hated being the daughter of the Ivory Dragon. She barely had any freedom, and I don't mean that in the same way that a normal overprotective parent and sometimes be stifling and controlling of your life.

No, the Ivory Dragon basically already planned out her daughter's entire life from the moment she was just an egg.

What was entailed in this planned out life, you may ask?

Nothing much, just being turned into a carbon copy of her mother and then never being able to leave her mother's side for all eternity.
.
.
.

But Y/n did not want the life her mother chose for her. instead, she wanted to explore, to experience and to love... All of which, are strictly forbidden from her...

Anywho, we go back to the present as the Ivory Dragon begins to speak while cradling Y/n in her lap. "Tsk tsk tsk, why must you do this every single day? You're 137, you know what the mortal world is capable of." The dragon empress cooed to her daughter.

"Now, fall asleep in my lap, I'll rock you to bed and then we'll both head to my bed Chambers, as it seems like you're not yet ready to have your own room." The Ivory Dragon whispered as she carefully rocked her daughter to sleep.

The Ivory Dragon then started to speak once more. "Look, how about this, tomorrow I will let you wander the garden with only one guard. Maybe that will satiate your desire for all of this freedom nonsense."

The duo soon fell asleep...
.
.
.

But even as she dreamed, Y/n just couldn't let go of her ideas of freedom.

And then, out of nowhere. She had been woken up by one of the guards.

The guard gently shook her awake before starting to speak. "Do you truly want to leave this palace?" The guard said in a monotone voice.

The dragon princess immediately started nodding her head rapidly. The guard gave a soft chuckle before speaking once more. "All right, in a few hours I will be taking you on your scheduled stroll through the gardens, I will be able to help you escape then." The guard whispered before then leaving for the rest of the night.
.
.
.

Day soon broke, and Y/n patiently waited on her throne, which was next to her mother's much bigger throne, as the guard from last night appeared before her.

"Y/n my precious hatchling, what are you doing with your face?" The Ivory Dragon questioned as Y/n looked at her mother puzzled. "What's wrong with my face mother?" She asked as her mother then started to speak. "Your face is crooked in a upward motion, it shouldn't be like that unless you're gleefully staring down at the corpses of your enemies with a excited look in your eye." The empress scolded as Y/n then stopped smiling.

"Much better." The Ivory Dragon spoke as the doors to the throne room opened and the long awaited guard appeared.

"My liege, I am here for the scheduled walk around the garden." The royal guard said as the Ivory Dragon looked carefully at the guard before nodding her head. Y/n then caught up off of her throne and followed the guard to the gardens.
.
.
.

About 30 minutes into the stroll, The Guard spoke. "Here we are, the sacred steam pool, one dip in there and your body will transform into steam, it'll only last for a minute though, so I'd hurry to the mortal world if I were you." The guard explained as he then started looking away.

Y/n then jumped into the sacred pool and watched as her entire body transformed into steam, she then immediately started flying away from the Palace, past the gates and down towards the mortal world.
.
.
.

Meanwhile, in the throne room of the ivory palace, the dragon empress was becoming increasingly impatient. "Where is she? It's been more than 30 minutes, that's plenty enough time for her to walk in the garden..."

Suddenly a guard ran in front of the empress.

(Not the same guard from earlier, every guard is identical to each other.)

The guard started to speak with his lungs out of breath. "My liege... We have done a complete sweep of the palace, Y/n is missi-" before the guard could utter another syllable, they were instantly turned into stone.

The Dragon Empress was silent, still and unperturbed...

And then she started to violently shake.

And then, She roared.
.
.
.

Back with Y/n, there was 15 seconds left until she fully rematerialized.

But as she was flying down to the mortal world, a voice boomed across the sky. "WHERE IS MY DAAAUUUGHTEEEER?!?!?!" The voice roared out as the entire sky suddenly roared to life with thunder and Bone White bolts of lightning piercing through pitch black clouds.

The wind howled as it and the White lightning wrapped around one another, swirling together until they transformed into ginormous serpentine like forms which scoured the skies.

Y/n dodged the serpentine storm spirits and bolts of energy quickly as she bounced around in panic, as her mother had noticed she was missing...
.
.
.

The dragon princess could see the ground getting closer and closer, and just as she hit the ground, she completely rematerialized.

Immediately after touching the ground for the first time in her life, Y/n ran and hid inside of a alleyway, at least until the storm was over.

Then, just like that, the storm started to clear in a almost unnatural way. Y/n could see that up above, in the middle of the city, there was a ginormous Tower which seemed to be able to control the weather.

'perfect!' Y/n thought, as long as that weather Tower was there, her mother wouldn't be able to send storm spirits, and dragons made of lightning, after her.

She then started to wander about, looking at everything with great curiosity, as this was her first visit to the mortal world below the Heavens.

Eventually she found a quaint little building with chains on the door, she didn't understand why there were chains on the door, so she tour the chains off the door, she then fell asleep in what appeared to be a booth of some sort.
.
.
.

Meanwhile, Across the city, a royal guard from the ivory Palace could be seen smirking as he then took off his helmet, his eyes now shining bright blue.

"It is done... And now, everything is going according to plan!" The royal guard said as he held a picture of a key in his hands.
