It has been a year since the Blue Skull guild killed everyone on the island, that is everyone except Mavis(and Zera).

Mavis was reading a book in the library, when all of the sudden the little girl felt something, there was something off about the air.

She decided to go outside and see what was up but everything looked relatively normal "Do you feel that?"Zera whispered appearing at her side, clearly scared to even talk too loud.

Mavis nodded in agreement "Something is coming and fast"she stated, but she didn't feel threatened by the presence approaching the island but whatever it was had to be powerful.

The presence grew closer, there was a rumble in the air and a distant roar.

Within the next minute a massive black dragon with a grey underbelly and blue markings all over it appeared in the skies above Tenrou.

"Oh wow! It's a dragon!" Mavis yelled excitedly, sparkles in her eyes.

"Would you keep quiet! We don't want it's attention on us, that thing could eat us in one bite" Zera said being more cautious.

"It might but i read dragons can get pretty old, just think of what it could teach us!" Mavis said never losing her excited spark.

Zera was still apprehensive but didn't have much time to think on it anymore as the dragon landed infront of them sending a huge gust of wind in every direction as it did.

The dragon lowered it's head looking straight at Mavis "Are you the one who called me?" he asked.

Mavis grew confused, pouting her lips as she thought back "I don't think so, i was just reading this book" she said showing the dragon the book she had been reading.

"Hey wait a minute, this book mentions a dragon just like you, could you actually be the Dragon King?!" Mavis asked growing all excited again, she thought the book was fiction but dragons had existed so she always hoped it wasn't, just like fairies.

"It's a name i haven't used in a while but yes, i am Acnologia the Dragon King!" the dragon roared in pride.

'I knew it!' Mavis though practically beaming in excitement, while Zera shrunk behind her growing more apprehensive.

'Ramona must have put a spell on the book to call me to whoever read it' Acnologia thought analizing the book.

"Please Mr. Acnologia you have to teach me!" Mavis pleaded literally beaming.

"Just Acnologia, and why should i have to teach you?" he asked pearing at the little girl.

"Because there's so much you can teach me! I wanna learn everything!" Mavis said bouncing in excitement.

Acnologia sweatdropped, that didn't really seem like a valid reason for him, what would he get out of it? Yet he found it hard to say no looking at the girls excited eyes.

"Fine" he sighed.

"YES!!!" Mavis cheered bouncing up.

"But first" Acnologia said bringing her mood down in an instant "What?" Mavis asked "What's your name?" he asked, Mavis brightened back up "I'm Mavis, Mavis Vermillion" she introduced.

That was six years ago, since then Mavis had learned many things.

Like Acnologia had been human once, and could freely turn to back to a human form(and that form was quite the hunk)

She learned what Acnologia knew about history, magic and the world but the dragon never taught her his slayer arts.

Mavis had asked once why.

"Arcane Magic is better off being forgotten, until it is i'll be it's last wielder" he had told her.

Mavis still wanted to learn but dropped asking about it after that.

Acnologia watched from the cliffs as a small boat approached, even from here he could see the three people on it(a perk of being a dragon slayer).

He watched them make landfall and listened to them making their plans (which wasn't hard especially with the blond one yelling everything).

The group of three were treasure hunters, their goal the Tenrou Orb(which he knew was missing), though he could care less about their reasons for being here.

Acnologia turned disappearing into the forest, though he knew Mavis could handle herself(she was a very capable wizard for a thirteen year old and an extremely smart one too), he couldn't help but worry.

Acnologia arrived at the library after Mavis had beaten Yuri in a game of wits.

"Shishou!" Mavis greeted happily with a smile.

"Teacher? This guy could be trouble" Yuri murmured under his breath but Acnologia heard him.

"Shishou, guess what, i won a bet, this man will take me to see a real fairy!" Mavis smiled sparkles in her eyes.

"Will he now?" Acnologia asked shifting his gaze over to Yuri.

Yuri gulped a bit as those intense blue eyes seemingly pierced into his very soul.

"Uh huh!" Mavis nodded.

Then Acnologia shifted moving way too fast for Yuri to see.

In one moment he had pushed Mavis behind him and faced the doorway as Precht and Warrod came over to Yuri.

"Yuri do you mind telling us what's going on in here?" Precht asked glancing over at Acnologia and freezing in his tracks as he faced the intense calculating eyes of a (figurative) dragon protecting his own.

"Whoa this library is huge" Warrod said walking in before also freezing in his tracks as he faced Acnologia., he felt sweat brake out and he swallowed a lump in his throat.

"W-who's this guy?" Warrod managed to ask despite the overwhelming sense of dread and fear Acnologia gave him.

"This is Acnologia, he's my shishou, you don't have to be scared him, really, he's a big softie" Mavis giggled a bit walking out from behind Acnologia.

The Dragon Slayer huffed "Not my fault these guys are a bunch of babies" he muttered to himself.

"Anyway we've finished our business here, let's get going before this guard dog bites" Precht said glancing at Acnologia, who glared back at him.

"Did you guys find the orb?" Yuri asked.

"The place where it was kept at, but it's empty now" Warrod said.

"So then, it can only be Blue Skull that took it" Mavis said bringing the attention back to her and the tanned man with blue hair at her side.

"It was a wizard guild?" Precht asked.

"That's not good news for us" Warrod said.

"Even still we'll have to pay them a visit" Precht said.

"Then get going already" Acnologia spoke up scaring the trio with his deep, gruff voice and the glare he gave them next "You've worn out your welcome" he said.

"Acnologia don't be mean! Listen you three, my name is Mavis Vermillion and for the last seven years i've studied strategies for taking on wizard guilds, there is a way we can beat them" she said.

"Hold on, you say that like you intend to join them" Acnologia shifting his gaze(which softened)to Mavis.

"That's right, the Tenrou Orb was sacred to the Red Lizard guild and i intend to get it back with these men" Mavis said with determination burning in her eyes.

"You didn't even notice the orb had been stolen for seven years, it couldn't possibly be that important" Acnologia argued.

"But shishou this could be a great adventure! Please? Besides if you come with i'm sure we can take down Blue Skull easy" Mavis said a different spark in her eyes, the spark of excitement.

Acnologia sighed, once again he found himself unable to say no to her "Fine" he grumbled.

Mavis grinned practically vibrating in excitement as she turned to the trio before collecting herself "I humbly ask you take Acnologia and i with you" she asked.

The trio were shocked at the determination this girl had to retrieve an item that probably wasn't even that important to her.

"Just to be clear we're treasure hunters, even if we do find it there's no guarantee we'll just give it back to you" Yuri said.

"Then we can have another game of wits whenever that time comes" Mavis said.

Acnologia could simply steal it back by force, he knew that Mavis knew it too but the thirteen year old was determined to do this her way, he could only sigh to himself, what the hell was he signing up for.

Warrod and Precht had gone to their boat for the night which Acnologia was thankful for, the less people the better in his opinion.

Although he had a hunch Mavis was about to drag him into society, kicking and screaming, but he did wonder how had society advanced in the last three hundred years.

One thing he knew for sure would be checking on the Eclipse Gate and perhaps having a chat with the current king, then again that could wait, he was never a fan of royalty(he himself was royalty only in name).

The sun was high in the sky, the air was warm as a small ship sailed on the seas, with an unfortunate dragon slayer hanging halfway across off of the ships railing groaning in pain as he tried to keep his breakfast down in his stomach.

Acnologia was unusually pale, his usual aura of dominance completely dissipated as he endured the horror of transportation.

Mavis, the ever sweet young girl she was, patted his back rubbing soothing circles and just smiling with sympathy(and pity)at her teacher.

"What's with him?" Yuri asked as he steered the boat.

"Let's just say him and transportation don't agree" Mavis giggled before joining Zera at the bow.

Yuri watched her go before turning to the Dragon Slayer.

"So Zera" he went to say.

"I already know what you're going to ask" Acnologia cut him off "Zera is a personalized illusion Mavis created with her magic, so only she can see her"he said.

"I see" Yuri muttered.

"You can't tell her" Acnologia said.

"Why not?" Yuri asked.

"That would brake the illusion and Mavis would lose her friend for good, i know you may not care but i certainly do care and if you hurt Mavis like that, i will end you" Acnologia threatened, though it's effect was halved when the slayer lost his breakfast over the ships railing.

After making landfall at the port of Hargeon, Acnologia was more then happy to leave the ship and recovered almost right after his feet had touched the ground.

He glanced over to Warrod mooring the ship when Mavis questioned what he was doing, but he ignored the response as he thought over if he should go check on the Eclipse Gate.

"Shishou?" Mavis asked skipping over to him a slightly worried look in her eye.

"Just thinking" Acnologia said before focusing on the town infront of him, he remembered this place.

Even three hundred years ago the port town had been a busy place.

"That's right you haven't socialized in three hundred years! Must quite the shock huh?" Mavis asked a curious spark filling her eyes as she smiled.

"I suppose" Acnologia grunted.

"Hold on, three hundred years?! You don't look that much older then me!" Yuri yelled having joined them at some point.

"Oh no, Acnologia is much older then you, he's a dragon you see" Mavis smiled.

"A DRAGON?!?!?!?" Yuri yelled getting looks from the townspeople.

"Would you quit yelling everything?!" Acnologia grumbled irritated, rubbing his ringing ears.

"Funny you don't look like a dragon" Precht said walking up.

Acnologia just huffed ignoring him.

"So do you breath fire or?" Warrod asked walking up after having moored the ship.

"Don't be ridiculous, fire is such a basic element, my brand of magic is much more sophisticated" Acnologia huffed.

Just the thought of comparing him to that stupid fire breather Igneel, the nerve.

"Acno your ego is showing" Mavis sung teasingly.

Acnologia just huffed again.

The four men and (two)one girl walked further into town.

Acnologia was looking around at everything with mild fascination, it had been three hundred years, that time seemed to be just hitting him as nothing was familiar, even the scents in the air were different.

He knew what they were but still, it was really just hitting him that he had spent over three hundred years in isolation.

He wasn't the only one experiencing culture shock as Mavis was bouncing from one stall to the next(with Zera right behind her).

They eventually found a place to stay for the night and Acnologia had decided he'd leave to check on the Eclipse Gate at night(so he could avoid frightening the townsfolk with his dragon form).

For now though(since the sun was still high in the sky) as Precht and Mavis left to gather intel, Acnologia also decided to spend some time out and about in the town to acclimate his draconic senses to all the noises and new scents.

"UGH!"Acnologia cried out as the most horrid stench entered his nostrils, his eyes even pricked with tears, it was the most disgusting thing he had ever smelled.

And despite his better judgement he had to get a closer look.

He found the source to be some spiky yellowish green fruit "What is this? And why does it smell so bad? Is it rotten?"he bombarded the vendor with questions taking the fruit in his hands.

"It's called a durian, i'm not quite sure why it smells so bad but i can assure you it's not rotten, it's quite tasty in fact, care to buy, it's only 500J"(i'm just making these numbers up and not basing them on any exchange rate)the vendor said.

Acnologia was curious to try but, he huffed putting the fruit down "Don't have any money"he simply said walking away his cloak billowing behind him.

Acnologia continued exploring the town when he senses Mavis is in trouble, instinct took over and he raced across town leaving behind a trail of dust.

He arrived at the bar throwing the doors wide open(actually separating them from their hinges), he saw Precht holding Mavis but he was having trouble against the people in the bar.

Acnologia let out a feral smirk, showing off his fangs which sent shivers down the bar patrons backs but they didn't back down, which was a grave mistake.

One short bar brawl later every patron was flat on their back, unconscious but breathing only because Acnologia had remembered to hold back so he wouldn't scare Mavis.(he also didn't use any magic, cause he didn't need to)

Acnologia strode up to the bartender, grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and got in his face, the poor guy was already crying in fear.

"Now then tell us the whereabouts of Blue Skull or you join your friends on a one way trip to the hospital"Acnologia threatened.

"Okay! Just please don't hurt me, the guild hall is in a town called Magnolia, it's not far from here!"The bartender cried.

"Which way do we head from here to reach Magnolia?"Acnologia growled scaring the poor guy further.

"WEST!"the bartender yelled.

Acnologia huffed throwing him aside "Let's go Mavis, Prick"he said walking out.

"Okay!"Mavis cheered following him.

"The name's Precht"he grumbled under his breath following them.

The group made camp at night on route to Magnolia.

As they did Acnologia stayed by the camp with Mavis until the little girl ran off calling for Zera, honestly that girl was one troublesome illusion.

(anyway)Mavis found Zera by the river and decided to look for berries and nuts instead, Acnologia just tagged along cause he maybe a little overprotective of (his hatch - erm) Mavis.

They came across an area filled with dead trees and animals, Acnologia narrowed his eyes, he knew this magic anywhere, Zeref, though his scent had long since dissipated, it certainly seemed like the black wizard had passed by this place not too long ago.

"Do you know what happened here shishou?"Mavis asked.

"Yeah"Acnologia grimly nodded.

Mavis didn't like that grim response but her curiosity got the better of her as she asked "Tell me?"

Acnologia glanced at her "I'm sure you read of Ankhseram, this is what follows those who are cursed by him"he said.

Mavis looked at the dead trees and animals again "The Curse of Contradiction"she said.

Acnologia only nodded in agreement.

"Should we tell the others?"Mavis asked.

"No"Acnologia simply said turning his back to the forest and heading back.

Mavis lingered for a bit looking at the dead forest before following him.

After sunset, everyone gathered around the campfire.

Yuri and Warrod got into a fight and split ways and it was too dangerous to go look for them(well for anyone except Acnologia(who could also smell where those two were)).

Precht told the story behind their fight but Acnologia could care less.

Acnologia pulled Mavis aside to have a chat.

"I'll be going now"he simply said.

"What? Why? You'll come back won't you?"Mavis asked her eyes already watering.

"There's something i have to go check on, i'll come back"Acnologia said.

Mavis tackled him in a hug, though she barely reached his midriff and her tiny arms couldn't even properly wrap around him.

Acnologia didn't even stumble back, nor was he in shock(as this was not the first time Mavis had hugged him), but it gave him a warmth(as it always did)one he had grown to enjoy, he gladly returned the hug wrapping his arms around her tiny frame.

"Please be safe"Mavis said.

Acnologia chuckled a small smile playing his on lips "I should tell you that, i am the Dragon King you know"he said.

Mavis giggled a bit pulling back from the hug "There goes your ego again"she smiled.

Acnologia huffed a small laugh and ruffled her hair with his massive hand covering her whole head "I'll be back before you know it"he said.

"Right"Mavis nodded stepping back so Acnologia could transform.

And transform he did taking on his dragon from, which the trio saw from their camp and they watched in shock as Mavis waved off the Dragon King.

Acnologia flew for a whole day staying high in the sky so he wasn't spotted, he knew exactly where the Eclipse Gate was so directions weren't a problem.

He eventually arrived where he knew the Eclipse Gate was, only to discover some idiot had built a castle on top of it, the surrounding city was fairly large as well.

Acnologia knew he would eventually have to deal with the idiot living in that castle but today was not that day.

He turned tail and flew back to Mavis.

Acnologia caught a scent as he was growing closer to where he also smelt Mavis.

A growling rumbled in his chest, he knew that other scent.

"Zeref"he growled speeding up.

He arrived before night fall, Zeref had sensed his approach and had stepped further back from the group.

It was the right call as the massive black dragon slammed into him, it wouldn't kill him but it certainly hurt.

Acnologia pinned Zeref benieth his massive claws.

"Zeref"he growled in greeting.

"Been a while Acnologia"the black wizard greeted back rather casually, despite having a who knows how many tonned dragon pinning him down.

Mavis gasped "You mean THE Zeref?!"she yelled, she's read hundreds of books on him.

Zeref looked away ashamed.

Acnologia ignored Mavis "I wonder if eating you would kill you? That's what you want most isn't that right?"he smirked down at Zeref.

"Then do it already!"Zeref yelled at him.

Acnologia had every intention of doing as he said, until "No! Please wait Acno!"Mavis yelled at him and he stopped turning his massive dragon head to her.

Mavis faced him with determination "I don't care who he was, right now he's teaching all of us magic to take down Blue Skull"she said.

"So what? I can teach you magic too, hell i've already taught you magic"Acnologia said pressing his claw down harder on Zeref who grunted in response, though immortal he still felt pain.

"But you're not, he is"Mavis simply said never losing her determined stare.

Acnologia didn't respond and the two had a stare down, eventually he sighed looking away first "Fine, i won't kill him but rest assured i will be keeping an eye on him"he said.

Acnologia stepped back letting Zeref go and turning back to his human form but his eyes never left the black wizard, Zeref stared right back at him before turning to Mavis with a smile.

"Thank you"he simply said and Mavis simply smiled back.

Acnologia huffed turning away, he could now see why Mavis asked him to spare Zeref in the first place "Of all the rotten luck"he muttered shaking his head.

Acnologia and Zeref (reluctantly) worked together to teach the others magic.

"Anyone can learn any magic at any age but children are more adept at it, because their magic container is just developing within their bodies"Acnologia told the group upon one session.(after Mavis had asked about dragon slayer magic)

"It's also why dragons picked children to learn dragon slayer magic, because in addition to their developing magic, dragon slayer magic requires physical adaptation, which is also easier for children"the Arcane Dragon Slayer continued.

"Sight, sound, smell, taste and touch are all enhanced by dragon slayer magic, the adjustment can be difficult at first but with enough time you get used to it, in addition there's also the Dragon Seed, which is what makes it possible for a slayer to become a dragon"he said.

Acnologia looked at his hand as if in thought "Long ago, i happened upon a group of dragons with a friend of mine, they were attacking a little girl, i used to be a doctor so i went to help her, but i couldn't save her"his hand clenched into a fist.

"I slaughtered hundreds of dragons on that day, the Dragon King Festival, if it hadn't been for my friend i might have lost my sanity, but i did lose my humanity, the blood that was spilled was just enough to activate my Dragon Seed"Acnologia said looking back to the group.

They all had different expressions, Mavis having heard the story before held the same expression as back when he first told her, sadness, the trio were all in shock and couldn't believe what they had just heard.

Zeref also already knew this story because Ramona had told him, he held a blank face and said nothing.

"The power one gains from dragon slayer magic is unbelievably powerful, that power went to many slayers heads and corrupted them, they slew all the remaining dragons before turning on each other and before long i was the only one left"Acnologia said.

"Just what kind of magic is it that you use?"Yuri asked.

"One that i'll take to the grave with me"Acnologia simply said.

"Arcane magic"Mavis whispered to her friends but he heard her.

The group trained for many nights and days with Acnologia and Zeref as their teachers.

Mavis improved what she already knew, while the other three discovered their magics, for Yuri it was Lightning Magic, for Precht his Magic Bullets and for Warrod it was Green Magic (a type of non offensive magic which manipulates nature).

"My friend was a Nature Dragon Slayer, she could do what you can and more"Acnologia smirked in pride for his friend.

"Acno your ego is showing again"Mavis teased with a smirk.

Acnologia huffed "It's not ego, it's pride for my friend"he said crossing his arms over his broad chest.

"They'll be able to take on their adversaries now, i'll be taking my leave"Zeref said to Acnologia walking away in the night.

Acnologia didn't respond watching him until he disappeared into the woods.

"Acno do you know where Zeref went?"Mavis asked dressing in a Gothic dress one misty morning.

"No"Acnologia simply said.

"Oh, i was hoping i could thank him"Mavis said sadly looking down.

Acnologia grunted and put his hand on her head, ruffling her hair "Don't worry about it"he said before dropping his hand "You'll meet him again"he said.

As much as he hated to admit it, he could tell Mavis and Zeref were meant to be, he had no doubt in his mind those two would meet again.

After a bit more training Mavis had everyone gather around a map.

"Say what?! Now you wanna liberate Magnolia?!"Yuri yelled(as he usually does).

"Yes, what's happening to the people there brakes my heart, i can't watch them suffer anymore" Mavis said.

"Don't be ridiculous, the only reason we're here is to snatch the Tenrou Orb from Blue Skull and that's it"Yuri said

"We're just hunting for treasure just because we learned magic doesn't make us obligated to help people"the blonde argued crossing his arms.

"Don't forget our ultimate in learning magic was to utilize it in battle, now is the time, there's nothing holding us back"Precht said.

"That wizard had some nice things to say about your magic but don't let that go to your head, think about the numbers man, four brand new wizards are really gonna take down a guild with hundreds of them? Not gonna happen"Yuri stated.

"It's gonna be fine Yuri, because this time we have Acnologia with us"Mavis said with a confident smile.

Yuri looked at the tanned man sitting next to her, he was a dragon sure but Yuri was still unsure about him.

"Besides we've seen a bunch of cities that were just as bad as this one, we always had reasons why we couldn't help but now that we have this kind of power we're all out of excuses, it's time to act" Warrod said.

The group went into town wearing cloaks for disguises, Acnologia didn't cause A)he was already wearing a cloak B) no one would know him and C) he would stick out like a sore thumb regardless.

They met up in the bakery, which Acnologia was seeing for the first time but he didn't let that distract him, keeping his senses on high alert just in case.

"Sorry we're running a little late"Yuri said, the rest following him in.

"You find their base?"Mavis asked.

"We did, without anyone spotting us"Yuri said.

"Why are you here?"the little girl asked before spotting Acnologia and growing a little scared of him.

Acnologia noticed her fear but didn't care, people can think of him whatever they wanted.

"Oh i wasn't expecting you, i thought you left the city after our talk"a young woman, the girls mother Acnologia noted from their similar scent, said walking out from the kitchen.

She failed to notice Acnologia for the moment.

"We need to ask a favor of you"Mavis said

"Do you think you could get a small group of people gathered together? Even just two or three would be fine"Yuri said.

"The important thing is they have to be loud"Mavis said.

"I don't understand"the young woman said.

"Just gather a few people, I promise i'll explain everything to you later, we're going to change things for the better in this city but we can't do it without a little help"Mavis said.

"I appreciate it but i'm afraid that's impossible"the young woman said.

"Nothing is impossible, what happened here is a real tragedy, people can't go on living like this any longer it's time to fight back"

"We're more then willing to fight in the front lines but we're gonna need the people of Magnolia to back us up, please help us, let's take back this city"Mavis said a determined (figurative) fire in her eyes.

The young woman looked at the group, finally noticing Acnologia, and even though she could tell he was powerful she was still apprehensive.

Her daughter told the group about the blacksmith, who according to her, was always angry and super loud, she told them where to find him.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT CAN'T YOU SEE I'M BUSY?!?! COME ON OUT WITH IT TELL ME!!!" the blacksmith yelled once the group met up with him.

Everyone was holding their ears but it was especially bad for Acnologia, who was rubbing his ringing ears, this guy was louder then Yuri.

They convinced the loud blacksmith to play along with their plan, which was easier then Acnologia had thought it would have been.

The loud blacksmith got the people to gather and they marched to Blue Skulls bases front doors, as per Mavis' plan, the perfect distraction.

Although Acnologia didn't much care for this sneaking around crap, he could of easily turned to a dragon and forced Blue Skull to hand over the Orb or even just take it by force.

In fact he had pointed this out to Mavis but she didn't want him scaring the townspeople, she was determined to do this her way and Acnologia could only go along with it.

Warrod went to attack the master of Blue Skull in the hills where he was hunting to distract him while the others (mainly Mavis) made an illusion of the city in flames.

Mavis was sure her illusion would work this time since the master wouldn't be thinking straight after the attack, she confronted the master after he had arrived back in town.

But the master saw through it and dispelled it, just as Mavis had planned, since Acnologia dropped a cage on the master from high in the sky.

The entire city had been an illusion.

Acnologia joined Mavis (and Zera) on the ground still in his dragon from freaking out the master of Blue Skull.

"Why go through all this trouble if you have a pet dragon?!"the master yelled freaked out.

Acnologia snarled at him baring his teeth, the poor master nearly cried in fear.

"He's not a pet, he's my teacher!"Mavis told the master.

"Whatever he is get him to back off! I'm not tasty at all!"the master cried trembling in his cage.

Acnologia huffed blowing air in the masters face "As if i'd eat rotten food"he said.

"HE TALKS?!?!?!"the master yelled in shock, his eyes nearly popping out of his skull in comedic effect.

"Yes and now it's your turn to talk, so talk!"Acnologia growled.

"Okay! I'll tell you anything!"The master cried.

"What do you about the Tenrou Orb?"Acnologia asked.

The master told them everything, how(in short)the Tenrou Orb was cursed.

After hearing that Mavis(and Zera) rushed to back Magnolia with Acnologia shortly behind them after turning back into human form.

Mavis and Zera arrived at Kardia Cathedral first where they discovered Yuri had already taken the orb.

Mavis tried to convince the older blond to let go of it but Yuri wasn't listening and just then the Orb started glowing.

It's curse was activated and Yuri's very soul was transferred to the blue skeleton over Kardia Cathedral.

Acnologia arrived at the front of the cathedral just as the skeleton had started moving around "Everyone get out of here!"he yelled before turning to his dragon form and tussling with the blue skeleton, giving the townspeople time to evacuate.

Precht, Mavis(and Zera) ran out of the Cathedral and were shocked to find Acnologia in his dragon from practically wrestling with the blue skeleton.

This was the first time Precht had a clear look at Acnologia in dragon form, he could tell whatever that skeleton was, it was not a dragon.

Although it didn't help keeping the city intact at least Acnologia was making sure the townspeople wouldn't get killed in the scuffle as he was leading the skeleton away from them.

Regardless Mavis could only think of one way to save Yuri, she climbed up to the cathedral's roof.

"Acnologia! Lure Yuri this way!"she called.

"Just what are you planning?!"Acnologia called back pinning the skeletons head down before it could release a breath attack.

"Shishou, just please do as i ask of you!"Mavis yelled.

Acnologia clicked his tongue and grabbed the blue skeleton pushing it back toward the cathedral.

Once they were close enough Mavis charged a spell, Acnologia's eyes widened "You can't!"he yelled panicked.

"It's the only way!"Mavis yelled back, determined to save her friend.

"Mavis! Don't you dare!"Acnologia yelled at her.

"I cast LAW!!!"Mavis called ignoring him.

A bright light enveloped the entire city and when it died down the blue skeleton was destroyed, the Tenrou Orb had broke, Yuri was freed and Mavis fell unconscious.

Acnologia caught Mavis as she fell from the roof and turned to his human form cradling her close to him.

He lowered his head, his massive head of hair hiding his eyes "You fool"he muttered, a small silver tear rolling down his tanned cheek.

Acnologia carried Mavis(bridal style of course)as he went over to Precht sitting on his knees in shock "Are you gonna just sit there?"he asked.

Precht flinched before looking up at Acnologia "No"he simply said standing up.

"Good, then you can carry the blonde, my hands are full as you can see"he said leading the way over to Yuri, who was also unconscious.

Precht heaved the blonde over his shoulder and the two made their way over to an inn that mostly escaped destruction.

The innkeeper let them have a room for free once they realized they had saved the town.

Acnologia laid Mavis on the bigger bed and took a chair before sitting next to her, his eyes never left her.

Precht had no idea Acnologia had cared so much about Mavis.

Within hours the room was flooded with townspeople and the halls were filled with thank you gifts, even multiple doctors came to visit.

Acnologia ignored them however, well until they started yelling at each other.

"ENOUGH!"he yelled at them.

Everyone froze in their tracks as the tanned man faced them with a glare.

"Mavis is just fine, she'll wake up on her own eventually but none of you yelling about it isn't going to help her so get out"Acnologia growled showing off his fangs.

"And how would you know?!"the blacksmith yelled at him.

Acnologia resisted the urge to his eyes "I used to be a doctor specialising in this stuff"he simply stated instead.

The townspeople were relieved regardless and left Mavis alone.

"You didn't tell them the whole story"Precht said walking over from where Yuri was resting.

"Yeah, you mentioned you were a doctor before, so what's the full diagnoses"Warrod said leaning against the wall near the door.

Acnologia looked at them both and sighed.

"In all technicality Mavis brought Yuri back from the dead when she destroyed the Tenrou Orb with Law, bringing people back from the dead invokes Ankhseram's curse of contradiction, it's full effects are inactive for now but Mavis won't ever grow or age"he told them in a grim tone

After Yuri woke up Precht and Warrod told him the news and the blonde ran off in search of Mavis.

He found her by the lake with Acnologia at her side, the others had told him the tanned man hadn't left her side since she woke up.

"Yuri! Thank goodness i'm so glad to see you awake"Mavis greeted him with a carefree smile, but Acnologia was less then pleased with the blonde judging from the intense glare focused squarely on him.

"H-how can you be so happy? You should be angry, you should have Acnologia tear me to pieces!"Yuri yelled, his eyes shadowed but Acnologia could smell the salty tears.

"Nothing that happened was your fault, i knew there were risk and i don't regret it, i'm just grateful that you're alright, so i won't have Acno tear you to pieces so you can continue being alright"Mavis said with a small giggle at the end.

"I don't deserve it, you didn't have to do this for me!"Yuri said.

"I did, you're my friend and i would do it again in a heartbeat"Mavis said.

"Not if i have anything to say about it"Acnologia cut in shifting his glare to Mavis, who just giggled at him.

"Don't say that! This whole time i was just trying to get to the orb! I was using you!"Yuri cried before falling to his knees.

"I'm no friend, what sort of friend would do that? You should just let Acnologia have at me!"he cried.

"Please don't cry it's not like you"Mavis said.

After Yuri had calmed down he sat on a washed up log with Mavis, she had asked Acnologia to leave for some privacy with the blonde, he reluctantly complied leaving them alone.

Although he still stayed close enough to hear them with his enhanced senses.

That was until Yuri had told Mavis the truth about Zera.

He was too late to stop Zera from disappearing but that didn't stop him from punching Yuri, sending him flying and skipping over the lake like a rock and crashing into the trees on the other side.

"That's the least of what you deserve for the pain you just put Mavis through!"Acnologia yelled at the blonde.

"Acnologia!"Mavis yelled at him.

The tanned man turned to her his eyebrow quirked up in question.

"It's fine, that Yuri told me, after all i have real friends now so imaginary ones should be let go of right?"Mavis asked him with a smile, but Acnologia could see the lingering pain behind it.

Acnologia sighed letting the subject drop "Fine"he grumbled.

Yuri swam back to the shore as the sun was setting "Overkill much?"he asked Acnologia with a sweatdrop and a small smile which quickly dropped as the tanned man glared at him.

"Right i'll just leave you to it"Yuri said running out of there before Acnologia decided to use his magic on him.

Acnologia watched him run before turning to Mavis "Do you need time alone?"he asked.

"No, please stay"Mavis whimpered the tears finally coming to her as she jumped into Acnologia's arms and crying on his chest.

Acnologia only sighed and rubbed her head and back letting her cry her heart out.

Mavis had calmed down once night fell and the two made their way back into town where everyone was celebrating being liberated from Blue Skull.

They didn't talk, Acnologia left her alone with her thoughts for he knew what loss felt like.

"Shishou, you once told me you lost a friend too, how did you move on?"Mavis asked as they sat on the river bank, their feet dipped in the water.

"I didn't"Acnologia grunted.

Mavis looked at him in surprise.

"Even now everything reminds me of her and sometimes in my dreams i see her smile and it feels like my heart is ripped out and burned at the same time"Acnologia said.

For the first time, he looked vulnerable, to Mavis Acnologia had always been her teacher, the mighty Dragon King, but now she saw just a man hurt by the world and she could relate.

"You'll always remember them which can hurt when you see something that reminds you that they are gone, you don't move on it's just becomes easier to live with the pain"Acnologia continued.

Mavis looked at the river in thought and giggled at one particular thought and decided to voice it "Are you a masochist or something?"she asked.

Acnologia barked a laugh and ruffled her hair with a wide grin "Maybe"he said, he wasn't surprised she knew what that meant, there was something about it in a book she read, no doubt all of the stuff that any normal thirteen year old would only be learning about.

Mavis giggled with a bright smile as he ruffled her hair.

Acnologia dropped his hand "So what's next?"he asked.

Mavis looked at the river again deep in thought before a smile broke out "I know exactly what to do next"she said her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Mavis took off running towards the inn with Acnologia following behind her.

Arriving at the inn the trio greeted her with smiles, well except Precht, even Acnologia wouldn't call that smiling.

"I've got a great idea so listen up, let's make a wizards guild!"Mavis announced a wide smile on her face.

Acnologia huffed with an amused tone and a smile, he should have guessed.

"You think we should start our own wizard guild?"the trio asked in sync looking a bit more apprehensive about it.

"Yep!"Mavis simply replied.

"But uh we're already in a treasure hunter guild"Warrod said.

"We've dabbled a bit in magic but that doesn't quite make us full fledged wizards"Precht said.

"I thought you were going off on an adventure to find fairies?"Yuri asked.

"I plan on going lots of adventures but still everybody needs a place they can call home right?" Mavis asked before skipping over to the window and opening it.

"That's why i wanna start the guild right here in Magnolia!"she announced.

"You don't wanna start it on Tenrou Island?"Warrod asked.

"Well i did consider that for a little while but then i thought of all the people here who lived under Blue Skull for so long"Mavis said

"Their freedom is certainly cause for celebration but everyone's anxious about what will happen next"she continued.

"Good point, Blue Skull was oppressive but they did create some kind of order and certain fragile stability"Precht said.

"People need stability or there will be anarchy"Acnologia added.

"They're gone now but they left a big power vacuum, who's gonna take their place in the future you know?"Warrod asked.

"Yes exactly, guilds are the heart of cities like this one, they need them to grow and prosper" Mavis said

"Zera dreamed of saving this city but it doesn't end with kicking out Blue Skull and going on our merry way, we want the people here to love life again. To just smile, to actually feel free, to give them hope that tomorrow will be better then yesterday, if we put our heads together we can make that dream come true. Since i'm from Tenrou we can declare the island as the guilds sacred ground, uhm do you guys wanna join it?"Mavis asked getting a little apprehensive, unsure of their answers.

Acnologia smiled ruffling her hair "You know you can count me in, no need to be so apprehensive about that"he said.

Mavis giggled a bit and gave him a wide smile back.

"Sounds like an adventure"Yuri said, he was on board.

"Our own wizard guild"Warrod said, he was on board.

"Might i suggest we call ourselves the Precht Brothers?"he asked, on board as well.

Mavis giggled at him "Your ego is as bad as Acno's, besides i have a name, we're going to call ourselves the Fairy Tail guild"she said.

"Are you sure about that?"Yuri asked unsure himself, was it too late to back out?

"That's kinda quirky, do you mean like the tail of a fairy?"Warrod asked.

"I don't get it what do fairies have to do with the three of us?"Precht asked.

"Do fairies have tails or not? For that matter do fairies even exist? I don't really know it's an eternal mystery and solving it sounds like an eternal adventure to me"Mavis said with a small smile.

"Anyway that's how i came up with it, Fairy Tail"she said.

"Starting a guild from zero will be tough, we have a lot of work ahead of us"Yuri said.

"I know we do, that's why we need the people of Magnolia behind us every step of the way, we can't do it without them"Mavis said.

The group announced their plans to the townspeople the next morning, they were apprehensive but more then happy to work together.

Acnologia remembered one thing in that meeting he still finds funny.

"Yeah but if they go overboard with their magic spells they could brake buildings and stuff all over again"the daughter of the baker woman had pointed out.

"You'll be careful about not letting things get too out of hand won't ya?"the blacksmith asked.

"Don't you worry, we'll make sure nothing like that will ever happen"Mavis promised.

She would later regret her words.

And knowing what he does now Acnologia can't help but find it funny when it randomly pops into his head whenever a house is blown over.

Time seemed to fly by and by April of the year X686 the Fairy Tail guild was officially founded, they took a picture and Mavis(named master on the spot)even said a few words to commemorate the occasion.

"My wish is for this guild to be a family that loves and cherishes each one of it's members and i believe that comrade is more then just a word, a comrade lives in your heart, is someone you can trust unconditionally, i want you to feel like you can rely on me because one day i'll need you and our trust in each other will see us through, whenever you're suffering, whenever you're sad, i'll be there to make sure you remember you never have to face it alone, we have as many hopes and dreams as there are stars in the sky, if we walk towards the future together i know we'll reach them, now let us move forward forever in tune with the song of the fairies"
