few days later Kaeya was at Neuvillette place sitting down with him. laying against him on the couch just relaxing as Neuvillette got back from work. and it was nice just relaxing being there with him.

and Kaeya started thinking about what his relationship with Neuvillette was. was it just a fling? was it something more? he didnt know but he wanted them to be together he's never been so happy with someone it was like dream come true.

Neuvillette : Kaeya have we talked about what we are to each other?"

Kaeya : I...I Don't think we have. what do you think we are?"

Neuvillette: being so very old I've been around for a long time. I Don't know how romantic relationship work though....but I know life is short for humans. and I would like you to spend your time with me.....if you will....."

Kaeya : like officially dating?"

Neuvillette : yes. I understand things have to start slow"

Kaeya : I like you a lot. your a good man Neuvillette. with very cute kids"

Neuvillette : they like you a lot too. which I am very glad they do but they seem too excited about it planning ahead "

Kaeya : oh Klee is the same way. but who knows"

Kaeya then kisses him feeling really happy about where their relationship was going now that they are officially dating.

few days later Neuvillette was in his office working as Diluc suddenly walked in unannounced.

Neuvillette: Diluc what brings you h-

Diluc : I've come to talk to you about Kaeya"

Neuvillette : ...talk away then"

Diluc : you need to leave him alone. you seem like a good man but you know being with you. puts a target on Kaeya's back that he doesn't need"

Neuvillette : I....I understand your concern. that has crossed my mind"

Diluc : if you care about him you will leave him alone"

Neuvillette: I understand that but if anything was to happen I could protect him"

Diluc : you Don't know that. I Don't want you putting him in danger. he's better off without you"

Neuvillette: that's his choice to make"

Diluc: and yours too so make the right choice"

Neuvillette: ......."

later he's still in his office thinking over what Diluc said. as Kaeya walks in shaking off an umbrella.

Kaeya : it's been raining all day. something on your mind Neuvillette?"

Neuvillette  : I..... can we talk about something"

Kaeya  :
......umm....ok?"

Neuvillette : ......I think it's best we Don't actually see each other afterwards......"

hearing those words Kaeya could feel his heart drop. not understanding what he Heard.

Kaeya : what?"

Neuvillette : I... being with me in too big of a risk....I Don't want you to get hurt because of me. I can't lose someone else I care about"

Kaeya :....so....so that's it?... just like that?"

Neuvillette : I Don't want to...I'm just doing what's best for you Kaeya. I care about you very much....very very much...."

Kaeya: what If I Don't care? what if I'm willing to take that risk"

Neuvillette : I'm sorry....I'm very v+

Kaeya : no. no I get it....your just like everyone else..... getting my hopes up promising empty promises only to just use me and leave.."

Neuvillette : it's not like that. I would never use you like t-

Kaeya : you lied. you said one thing then just changed your mind!....you are a horrible man Neuvillette"

after this Kaeya left very upset about what happened
