When Elijah Cybill woke back up, he was in his old bedroom, tied to his chair. He was dazed but could see Abel sitting in the chair opposed to him. "A-Abel," he whispered. "This is insanity at its finest."
Abel looked down at his lap. "I'm sorry, but I always wanted to be king, Eli. I didn't know it meant killing you, but Father and Mother said so. I have to think about myself. Besides, you missed my birthday last night."
"Please, Abe," Elijah begged, struggling against the rope that burned his skin. Arachne, I need to find her, he thought. "Let of Arachne, she's innocent, she's not a part of this."
"She killed innocent people, Eli."
"In crossfire! She didn't have a choice, she never meant for others to die!" Elijah was now panicking. Today is Arachne's execution, isn't it? "This isn't good, Abel. We can't let her die—"
"I didn't believe it at first when I spotted you, alive again with that Arachne girl. Eli, why were you back at Cybill Castle with her?" When he was silent, Abel frowned. "You were going to kill us."
"Not you, just Father and Mother, they lied to me. I wanted revenge, I wanted to kill them, I won't lie." Elijah wanted to hurt King Viron and Queen Athena so badly, his whole life was a lie and they were okay with it.
"So you confess to treason?" Abel inquired.
Elijah paled. "No, no, I don't confess to anything, Abe—"
"King Abel Cybill to you, brother." He stood up as guards entered the room. They untied Elijah but held him firmly as he struggled. "If you love Arachne that much, be thankful that I'm throwing you in the cellar with her before that spider's execution."
