SUMMARY: Kai, Jay, Cole, Zane and Lloyd are a tad bit too overprotective of their lil' sis! 

In this, the guys are all Seniors, and since Nya's younger than Kai, she's a Junior, I didn't want her to be too young so... :)

Nya's POV

My eyes snap open, as I sit up, pushing the blankets off of me. It's 4:45 in the morning, and I felt like going for a run.

I slip on some leggings, a t-shirt, and pull on my hoodie and trainers. Grabbing my phone and keys, I sneak out through the front door. Placing my headphones on, I put on a playlist and start running.

I love running. It makes me feel free, unrestricted. It clears my head up, a lot. As I run down the road, Chase Atlantic is playing through my headphones. A frown lifts on my face, as I hear a car behind me. Cranking my head around, I see a black jeep slowly following me.

Great. Not again! I was so careful!

Rolling my eyes, I pick up the pace, and so does the jeep. I circle around the apartment block for a bit, until I come to a halt. Ripping the headphones off, I groan in frustration.

"What do you want, Cole?"

As I guessed, he sticks his head out of the window, "What are you doing? It's five in the morning!"

I fold my arms and shoot him a glare, "I could say the same thing to you too,"

"He's with me," another voice spoke. Zane sticks his head out through the other window, "we're just grabbing some milk,"

"At 5 in the morning?"

"Surprisingly, yes." The two jumped out of the car and approached me, "Let's go, I know a cafe not too far from here,"

The next thing I know, I'm seated in the back of Cole's jeep, as he drives to Magnolia's. The only cafe open at this time of day. "Let me guess, Kai woke up after hearing me sneak out?"

"Actually, no," Zane chuckles, changing the music, "You were running nearby, and my sensors picked up your presence, but Kai could've heard and woken up."

"Great!" I sink into my seat, and Cole looks at me through the mirror, "Seatbelt?"

"Yes, dad!"

"Thanks, kiddo!" I roll my eyes and pull the seatbelt across my body, securing it into place. I love my brother, don't get me wrong, he's just...really overprotective. I'd be fine if he was looking out for me, but now he's also got his friends watching over me as well: Jay Walker, Cole Brookstone, Zane Julien and Lloyd Garmadon.

The reason why was...I have epilepsy. But I can handle myself! It's not super big, and I'm on the right medication!

The minute I enter the school, one of those five would make sure I get to my locker safely, no issues. Then, fast-forward to lunchtime, I would get dragged over to sit with them, and if I refused, they'd come and sit next to me. After that, I'd get driven home by one of them, mainly Kai or Jay. Because my loving older brother thinks I shouldn't drive as it puts me in risk.

We arrive at Magnolia's and snag a booth, and Cole orders a round of water, and some breakfast bars. Once they arrive, I swallow one down, take a gulp of my water and stand up, "Well, this has been fun, but I gotta get going-"

"Not so fast! I'm driving you home, whether you like it or not, so sit back down,"

"But I can just-"

"Nu-uh! No buts! Sit down, kid!" I huff and flop onto the seat, folding my arms.

Once it was finally time to go, Cole drove me back to the apartment blocks, and waited in the car as Zane literally escorted me back to my apartment. Like, dude! I'm not going anywhere else!

I twist the key into the lock, and let myself in, to see Kai pacing around, back and forth. His eyes widen as he sees me, "Yes, Lloyd, she just walked in! Okay, thank you, bye!"

He ditches the phone on the couch and hugs me tightly, "Don't you ever scare me like that again!"

I wrap my arms around him, "I'd have been back way before your alarm went off, you don't have to worry about me,"

"But since Mom and Dad died, and you got diagnosed, I..."

"I won't die on you, bro. I swear,"

He smiles, "I know. But we're still watching over you. You taken your meds?"

I shrug, "Just about to,"

"Good. Then get ready. I have to go to school early, there's a meeting for the football team that Cole and I have to get to, so I'm dropping you off at Jay's."

"Kai! I'm 16, I can take care of myself-"

"Really? What if you drop and have a seizure-"

"But I won't! I'm on the meds-"

"I'm not risking it. Go and get ready. I'll get the car started."

Just as he's about to leave, I stop him, "Is this what it's gonna be like, when I'm legally an adult? That you guys are just gonna be chasing me around?"

He turns to face me, "If it comes to it. Life can be great, but it can also be...not so great. I guess fate had something else planned for you, otherwise I would've been more than happy with you being home alone,"

I fold my arms, "Would you, though?"

"Just get ready, you dork!"

3rd Person POV

Nya went to school with Jay, that day. She'd never admit it since Kai would literally kill her, but...she kinda liked Jay. Of course, boys weren't on her radar.

The minute they entered the building, they were joined by Cole and Kai, who were grinning with excitement. It turns out the team voted them both for co-captains.

They joined up with Zane and Lloyd, before making their way to classes. Everyone stopped and stared at them.

Oh, right. That was the thing; they're popular. All five of them. And girls were jealous of Nya. They'd befriend her just to get closer to the guys. And the guys didn't like that. As the girl finally entered her classroom, she felt a pair of eyes watching her. Not Kai's, or Jay's or Cole's, Zane's or Lloyd's, but someone else.

She looked over to see Nadakkhan Djinn smirking at her. He winked, once she caught his eye. Nya shuddered and made her way to her seat.

The bell rang, and Nya swiftly packed her stuff, and rushed out of there. She made it to her locker undetected, and dumped her books inside. Reaching for the small container buried deep behind old report cards, she dumped a pill in her hand, and popped it in her mouth, swallowing it with a gulp of water.

She slammed her locker shut, only to face Nadakkhan. "Well, aren't you a doll?" he asked, with an accented voice, as he reached out to stroke her cheek. Blinking, she jumped out of his grasp, "Listen, don't mess with me. Now beat it!"

"Ah, the girl with the unfortunate case of epilepsy is threatening me!" he gasped with a mocking tone, "You and I would definitely look together,"

"Listen buddy, I'm not interested. Go find some other chick to annoy,"

"Hmm. One date. That's all I want,"

"I said-"

Nya was cut off by an arm draped around her shoulders. She looked up to see Lloyd glaring at Nadakkhan, his arm slung over her shoulders, "She said no, dude. Move along!"

"And who are you to decide that for her?"

"Listen, buddy, you got a bone to pick?" Lloyd asked, his voice more threatening. Out of all 5 boys, Lloyd was the youngest, but he could be scary when he needed to be.

"I don't think Dilara would be happy to see you flirting with a girl who's way outta your league!" Nya turned to see Jay on the other side of her, and her heart skipped a beat.

"Oh, you got the whole group?!" Nadakkhan laughed maniacally. This was true, as Kai, Cole and Zane had also shown up.

"Listen, back off! My sister's to good for you!" Kai ordered fiercely. Nya felt embarrassed but relieved at the same time. She knew that they were currently attracting a lot of attention, but if they weren't here, she'd be in some deep shit!

"Well, I for one think that...with her current situation, a real man should be making the choice," Nadakkhan stated, a-matter-of-factly. Nya's eyes flickered up.

"The hell did you just say?"

Before Nadakkhan could answer, Nya ran forward, and delivered a punch straight to his face. He didn't fall back, but his nose started bleeding. He laughed.

"Child's play!" he spat, straightening up. Nya was about to punch him again, until Jay swooped forward, picking her up easily and throwing her over his shoulder, "Okay, that's enough of that!" he chuckled nervously, as he carried her away, despite her protests.

"No! Let me at him!"

Jay walked over to his car, before setting her down on the hood. "What were you thinking?!"

"He had no right to say that!" Nya growled, "I should go back and-"

"No! Here's what's gonna happen. You and I are going back to my place. I'll call Kai and let him know-"

Nya cut him off, "And then what? He just takes a beating and leaves? Oh, when I see him again, he will be eating his food through a straw!"

"Nya-"

"No! I will kill him! How dare he say that-"

"Nya-"

"Oh, don't 'Nya' me-"

"Fine, how's this?"

Nya's eyes widened, when she felt a soft pair of lips on her own. Jay was kissing her.

JAY WAS KISSING HER?!

Slowly, her eyes fluttered shut and she kissed back, her arms wrapping around his neck. He placed his arms securely around her waist. They pulled away, and Jay gave a dorky smile.

"Well...at least that shut you up!"

Nya rolled her eyes, but a smile was tugging at her lips, "Whatever,"

Jay smiled, "Um...I sorta risked my life...and asked Kai if I could date you-"

"Say what now?"

"Y-yeah. He was mad, and chased me around with a knife, but I calmed him down, and reasoned with him. I know it's tough, with your diagnosis, and parents, and the whole 'No Boys Unless It's Kai, Jay, Cole, Zane or Lloyd' rule but-"

Nya narrowed her eyes, "So what? This was all out of sympathy?"

"What? No! I really like you! I always have done!"

"Oh..."

"And you really aren't good at hiding crushes, you always get really flustered around me so..."

"Right...should we kiss again? Or is that really weird..."

"Oh no, I'm down for kissing!"

"Alright then!" The two met in the middle, and wrapped their arms around each other, as their lips met with each others.
