Fight Back😭
SUMMARY: Morro moves into a foster home with Lloyd, and ends up ambushing him at school. I honestly feel like shit, and the fact that I can't stop sneezing is getting on my nerves. Thought I'd update this instead.
TW: ABUSE, BLOOD, ALL THAT STUFFS
"You're weak!"
Another sharp kick to the side and Morro whined helplessly, curling up into a little ball.
"Useless!" This time a sharp pain shot through his hand, and he screamed in pain.
"Morro Ren Barnes...you're no Barnes man if you can't fucking fight back!" He suddenly felt himself being picked up and slammed against the wall, his drunk foster father's fist wound back, ready to throw another punch. (I'm so sorry, Barnes was the first name that came to mind-)
He coughed, spitting out blood onto the floor as he felt his body being thrown back on the surface repeatedly. His head was whirring, eyes watering, tears trickling. Not long now. He had to hold on.
They'd be here soon. Just a little more time...
Morro was pretty sure his hand was broken, if not sprained, and his fingers were numb. He couldn't hit back. He was a coward, a pussy, a weakling.
He couldn't do it.
The sound of metal brought him back slowly, as he watched the burly man hold a pocket knife to his face.
Don't flinch. Don't cry. Don't show emotion. Even if he beats you black or blue.
Too late for that.
Out of nowhere, he'd been dropped to the ground as two officers restrained his guardian. A third officer wrapped a blanket around the teen, hoisting him to his feet, speaking into his walkie, "We need an ambulance, ASAP..."
That was almost a year ago, and the memories still haunted Morro.
He'd been passed around, from family to family, never staying long in each household. The perfect fit for him was practically impossible. He was turned down for being "A handful to manage," or "Unwilling to corporate with everyone else."
Excuses. He's heard them all. People these days would say anything to get out of trouble.
Maybe he was destined to be alone. A lone bird, floating in the wind, to wherever his heart takes him.
Up until a few weeks ago, when he'd been taken in by a family. They had one child, in the year below him, called Lloyd. He was a fine young man, with tousled blonde hair, energising green eyes and a handsome face. His mother, Misako, had long greying hair tied in a braid, wrinkled skin with glasses and a loving smile, nevertheless. Her husband Montgomery had hair similarly styled to the son's, but grey with age.
They'd welcomed him with open arms, and Morro couldn't help but feel right at home.
"We didn't know if you wanted to take our last name or not," Misako explained as Morro silently stacked his clothes away, "Your files only contained a first and middle name. Would you like to pick a new surname?"
The teen stayed quiet, not wanting to face the woman. His last name had changed a lot, every time he got thrown out of one home and accepted in another. In all honesty, he'd lost count.
But something made him have a gut feeling, that this would last, that he wouldn't be leaving anytime soon.
He was always a loner, going with the flow, sulky, drifting in the cool winds.
Wind...
Morro finally turned around, eyes shining, "Hiroto," he spoke quietly, "Morro Ren Hiroto."
Misako beamed at him, "It's very fitting. I'll make the changes now then. Get some rest, you have a long day ahead of you." Morro simply nodded, as the elder woman exited the room, leaving the door ajar.
A lot had changed since then. Morro'd wake up with nightmares, shaking with sobs as he screamed himself senseless.
Other times he'd flinch when other people got too close. Lloyd made the mistake of patting him on the back when Morro beat him at Fist to Face 32. The blonde ended up getting a scratch across his cheek, which stung like heck.
Lloyd had also introduced him to Kai and Nya too. He and Nya got along well, however, he and Kai were...50/50, to say the least.
At least they tolerated each other. It's better than nothing.
Today had been like any other day at school.
That is until Morro stormed into the corridor, looking around, eyes darkening with rage. He spotted the spiky-haired teen placing his books away into his locker, eyes on his phone.
Fury bubbled over in Morro's systems as he ran at Kai and tackled him to the ground.
"What the- Morro?!"
He didn't have time to react, as the first punch came flying to his face. Then another. Then another. "You...stupid...piece of...shit!"
Kai wasn't stupid. Prior to meeting Morro, Lloyd had warned him and Nya to not retaliate if he gets violent.
Breathing heavily, his eyes closed as he braced himself for the impacts, his free hand typing out a bunch of random letters, numbers and emojis to whom he hoped was Lloyd or Nya. They'd understand. They had to.
"Come on, fight back!"
The cactus desperately shook his head, unable to speak, unable to breathe. His arms flailed around to shield himself but Morro pushed them away, kneeing him hard in the groin.
"There goes my chance at having kids," Kai wheezed, blood streaming from his nose and mouth. The darker haired teen didn't stop there, finally getting off him as he delivered a sharp kick to his side, "You're weak!"
Kai helplessly nodded, wriggling away. Morro picked him back up by the scruff of his shirt, pinning him against the lockers as he punched him again, "Useless!"
Pulling him off the locker, he pushed him back onto it, the back of Kai's head colliding with the metal, "You're no man if you can't fucking fight back!"
"Morro! Stop!"
Oh, thank God! Help was here!
Morro was suddenly pried off by Lloyd, and pulled away, as Kai flopped to the ground. Nya hugged her big brother tightly, tears spilling down both their cheeks.
"Morro! Hey, look at me, it's okay. Morro, Morro!"
"I can't...oh what have I done...Kai, I'm so sorry!"
"S'okay, Morro," Kai whispered, "M'okay. Don't apologise..."
"Hey," Lloyd wrapped his arms around Morro, pulling him towards him. Morro didn't hesitate this time, head burying into the blonde's shoulder as he sobbed quietly, body shaking.
Nya pulled her phone out, "I'll call Misako-"
"Don't!" The urgency in Morro's voice caused Nya to freeze. His eyes welled up, "They'll hate me. I'm a bad person, I'm a bad person with a corrupted soul, I'm evil..." His face crumpled again as Lloyd continued rubbing soothing circles into the teen's back, "They won't hate you. You're family. We'll take care of Mom and Dad, you've got nothing to worry about, hey..." Lloyd pulled away from the hug and looked Morro right in the eyes, "Even if we have souls, yours isn't cracked. You're a good person, maybe the best I know. It's okay..." He glanced up at the shorter girl, "Hey, maybe...hold off on Misako for now. We'll deal with this ourselves."
Lloyd pulled Morro to his feet, and Nya outstretched a hand for her brother, who took it, heaving himself off the ground, "Thanks, sis."
"Let's get you both cleaned up..."
