I'm still confused at what Dakota is even doing, but as she holds the knife up above her chest, the sudden realisation hits me as I witness what she's about to do.
"Dakota!" I yell, stopping Dakota from her suicide attempt at the last second.
"H-Holly?"
"You were going to-"
"Holly..."
"You-" I can't even finish my own sentence, I'm too taken aback, and the tears that rapidly fall from my electric blue eyes that stain my cheeks and blur my vision make the way my depressed words come out even worse.
"Holly, I- Just let's go to sleep"
"No! If I go to sleep you'll try and kill yourself again!"
Dakota shushes me, "Hol-"
I cut Dakota off, "No! You have no reason to even ki-"
"Shut the fuck up. You know absolutely nothing!"
"Dakota, why?" I say, looking down and letting my teardrops drip onto the cold tiles.
"Were not even sisters anymore..." Dakota says, turning around, not wanting to look at my shocked and saddened expression.
"Yes, we a-"
"No, Holly, were not, this dollhouse shit has changed us"
"You're still my sister, Dakota"
"No, you keep distance from me, we haven't talked in ages" Dakota says.
"I want do die, I want to go, Holly, don't stop me" The words that escape Dakota's mouth instantly makes my heart sink. She wants to die. But I know, as her sister, I can't let her do that.
"I don't want you to leave, Dakota"
"But I want to, Holly, I never wanted this life"
"But Dak-"
Dakota cuts me off once again, "Holly, I want to leave this world, don't you see?" Dakota says, her back still turned away from me.
"But you're my sister, Dakota"
"And?"
"And I love you" I cry, walking up to Dakota and give her a warm hug, the first one we've shared in probably a few years.
After a while, Dakota pulls out of the tight embrace, and I see her tear stained face glowing with depression.
"Let's go to bed, Holly"
The Next Day
"Holly, wanna go to Scarlett with me today?" Harry asks me, well, demands, really, since I can't say no.
"Um, okay?"
"Get dressed, meet me down here in twenty minutes"
"Isn't that a bit rushed, I was clean-"
"Holly, just get dressed" Harry then leaves. Okay then?
I walk into the girls and I's bedroom to change into normal clothes. And by normal clothes, I mean clothes that wouldn't be worn by 1950's porcelain dolls. Whenever the girls and I go out with Harry, or for an event, we have to get dressed in clothes from our shared walk in wardrobe filled with the latest fashions clothes, shoes, accessories. Since all us girls are roughly the same size, we wear whatever we want when we get to choose. This time, I decide to wear high-waisted denim shorts that have studded pockets, and a plain baby pink, long sleeved button up shirt. I leave my makeup as it is, I've already got it caked on as all the girls do in The Dollhouse.
When I walk out the bedroom, the girls are all standing outside, filling me up with sudden questions.
"Where are you going?"
"You look nice"
"Why are you wearing that?"
"I'm going to Scarlett with Harry, he invited, well, I kinda have to go" I explain, putting my handbag strap over my shoulder.
"Fair enough" Evie says, starting to sweep the floors again.
"Holly!" Harry yells from downstairs. I say bye to the girls and run down the stairs, almost tripping over because of the sky-high light pink stilettos I'm wearing.
Once I'm downstairs, Harry leads me out the door and we get into the car.
"Why are we going to Scarlett?" I ask once Harry gets out of the driveway.
"You're meeting Liam and Janet"
"I thought we were meeting them on Friday?"
"No, you're meeting Niall and Fran on Friday"
"Oh, shouldn't Dakota meet Janet and Liam, too?"
"I only wanted to bring one of you's"
"Why'd you choose me?"
"I don't know"
"Oh"
At Scarlett
Harry and I look around the big cafe, and once we see Liam and Janet sitting and talking in a booth, we walk over to them.
"Hi!" Janet says, once she sees Harry and I. Janet is really pretty, like, really pretty. She has golden blond hair, styled in a short pixie cut, similar to Evie's, Janet also has almond shaped emerald green eyes, matching the massive emerald diamond necklace she is wearing. Janet is also really pale, skinny, too, and her collarbones pop out like they're about to snap, it makes me a bit jealous, to be honest. I've always been conscious about my weight.
"Hello, Harry and?" Liam says, asking for my name.
"Uh, I'm Holly" I say taking a seat next to Harry on the dark blue leather seats.
"I'm Liam, and this is Janet" Liam greets me, smiling.
After a few minutes of getting to know Liam and Janet, our coffees that Liam must've ordered before Harry and I came here arrived. We all say thank you to the waiter before she leaves.
"So, how you liking being in The Dollhouse?" Janet asks me as Liam and Harry trail off into their own conversation.
"I've been in The Dollhouse for about 5 months, I've gotten used to things, and yeah, it's not as bad as it was at first"
"That's cool. Do you get along with the other dolls?"
"Yeah, they're really sweet"
1 Hour Later
"Okay, Holly and I better get going" Harry says, standing up, Liam, Janet and I standing up after him.
We all exchange goodbyes before Harry and I leave Scarlett and hop into his car to head back to The Dollhouse.
After about twenty minutes, were back at The Dollhouse. As we walk in through the front door, the girls come to greet Harry and I.
"Dolls, it's your free time before cooking dinner, so go upstairs, I'll be in the living room if you need me" Harry hangs his coat on the coat hanger before walking away.
The girls and I walk up the stairs into the bedroom, and as we get in there, I'm once again piled up with questions.
"How was it?"
"Did you see anyone?"
"Where'd you go?"
"It was great, I met Liam and Janet" I answer, sitting down on my bed.
"Do you guys wanna watch a movie?" Macy asks us all. We all say yes and eventually agree on Forrest Gump.
"Um, Holly, can I speak to you outside for a sec?" Dakota asks from across the room. I nod and we both make our way out the door.
"Hey, ugh, sorry you had to see what happened last night" Dakota says, looking down, shamefully.
"It's okay, Dakota, just don't try it again"
"I said we weren't sisters anymore, and I immediately regret saying that and I'm sorry"
"Don't worry about it" I say, beginning to turn the knob on the door to get back in but Dakota stops me.
"Holly, by the way," Dakota pulls me into a warm hug and whispers, "I love you too, sis"
