Chapter 17. Black Archive

We were travelling to the Black Archive, when the TARDIS went crazy and we started falling and flailing all over the place.

"Doctor, what's wrong with your TARDIS?" I asked the Doctor.

"I prefer to call it sexy", Bowtie said while trying to get up and failing.

"I wasn't talking to you!" I screamed over the noise of the TARDIS humming that, if any louder, would have made me go deaf.

"The Black Archive! It's TARDIS proof!" The Doctor finally answered, and then he fell down. For the thirteenth time.

"I wonder why!" Clara screamed, now holding onto Bowtie for support. I don't know why I was mad about them. The Doctor looks happy and they look really cute together. And it's not like he's my Doctor anymore. Regeneration changes you. Maybe for the best, maybe for the worst. Like the Doctor explains it, it's a 'regeneration lottery'. You either win, or lose.

The TARDIS, after a few minutes and a lot more screaming and falling, finally stopped. And it was in a calm state again. Everyone just sat there, listening to the sound of the humming get lower and lower until it was at the normal volume again.

I strides over to the door and opened it, very disappointed. We were back at the castle, exact same place as before. The exact same angle of the castle, the clouds in the exact same place, even Elizabeth was just entering the castle.

"Doctor, what are we going to do?"
I saw Clara standing beside me, waiting for an answer from the Doctor.

He snapped his fingers, causing the doors to shut in my face.

"There is one thing."

Kate's POV

Osgood and I walked into the Black Archive to find our zygon duplicates. When we walked in, they looked alarmed, but I don't them to be alarmed. Because if they're alarmed then the whole world is in danger. And if I can reason with them, maybe it won't be a big portion of the Earth that will get exploded.

"We're not armed. You may relax."

"We are armed. You may not." Okay, these zygons are serious. They will do anything to inhabit the Earth.

I turned to the guard who was standing at the door in case of an emergency.

"Lock the door. I'm afraid we can't be interrupted. You don't mind if I get comfortable?"

I walked over to the long table that had two chairs set up on either side. To show that I could be somewhat trusted, I walked past the zygons and sat down in one of the chairs. They needed to think that I wasn't there enemy.

"You don't mind if I do?" the zygon asked while mutating. The zygon was forming into-- me! The zygon sat down directly in front of me at the other chair.

"You'll realise there are protocols protecting this place. Osgood?" Osgood, my best scientist and friend, who I trusted with my life and secrets that could put the whole world in danger, was going to explain to the zygons why I shouldn't be messed with. And just how powerful I really am.

"In the event of any alien incursion, the contents of this room are deemed so dangerous, it will self-destruct in"

"Five minutes."

An alarm sounded and a timer that was conveniently placed on the end of the table started counting down.

"There's a nuclear warhead twenty feet beneath us. Are you sitting comfortably?" Now the zygons know that Kate Lethbridge Stewart is no one to be reasoned with. Unless it's under her own terms.

"You would destroy London?" And the zygons still don't get how serious I am about this situation.

"To save the world, yes, I would. To save the world I would do anything."

"You're bluffing."

"You really think so? Somewhere in your memory is a man called Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge Stewart. I am his daughter."

A speaker started fuzzing and out came a mans voice that I did not want to hear in this situation. He would disapprove of my actions, but this is my choice. My choice to save the planet.

"Science leads, Kate. Is that what you meant? Is that what your father meant?

"Doctor how are you..?"
"

Space-Time Telegraph, Kate. A gift from me to your father, hotline straight to the TARDIS."

Leyna's POV

"Hotline straight to the TARDIS. I know about the Black Archive and I know about the security protocol. Kate, please. Please tell me you are not about to do something unbelievably stupid", bowtie said. And he looked like someone who would do a lot of stupid things, stupid things that he later regrets.

"I'm sorry, Doctor. Switch it off." The Doctor turned the knobs on the communicator to get a better signal. It must be a bit old and unused.

I guess the Doctor knew how bad it would affect her, believe me, if anyone would know, it would be him. The last of his kind.

"Not as sorry as you will be. This is not a decision you will ever be able to live with."

Bowtie started flying us to the Black Archive again, and failing a second time.

"I said switch it off", completely serious, there was no doubt in Kate's mind that she would let the Doctor get through with getting to the Black Archive.

"Kate, why can't we land?" bowtie asked, very, very frustrated.

"Tower of London, totally Tardis proof. Trust me, it's unbeatable", the Doctor said while switching the lever. It was impossible to get there, why drain all the TARDIS'S energy?

"How can they do that?" Clara asked, clearly beaten in how a great machine like the TARDIS could be stopped by a force field.

"Alien technology plus human stupidity. One of the most unbeatable and unpredictable things in the universe", bowtie explained to Clara, and the rest of us, for that matter. We all wondering how something made by humans could be stopped by a Time-Lord invention that has been letting them go through time and the universe, sometimes ripping apart time streams.

Over all this bickering, the Moment could keep her cool, but she looked really upset.

"You're all missing the big picture, the obvious. You already have what you need to land." She pointed over to something on the TARDIS console and my eyes grew wide in shock as I saw the most amazing thing. A stasis cube.

"We don't need to land", the War Doctor stated, a hint of amazement and wonder in his voice. The Doctor looked at him and studied his face to see if he was the least bit serious while saying, "Yeah, we do. A tiny bit. Try and keep up."

I started walking to the console. "No, we don't. We don't. There is another way. Cup-a-soup. What is cup-a-soup?" I said while picking up the stasis cube, showing it off like it was a prized possession. Bowtie looked at me and grinned.

"A stasis cube." He said, clearly amazed.
